Duke a 1 seed?

They're going to win out in the ACC and they're sitting at 25-4. They'll be 27-4 heading into the ACC tourney, and if they win the ACC tournament, do you really see the committee turning away a 30-4 Duke team in Coach K's last season when everyone else is losing?

Those two wins they have against Gonzaga and Kentucky also don't hurt.


I think they'll get a 1 seed, and I think the committee will make Kentucky their 2 seed.

Meh, I could see it, they are #5 on Kenpom and have beat the #1 and #2 Kenpom teams so I could see the committee weighting those a lot.

But everyone else keeps losing. If Duke keeps winning, they're getting a 1 seed.

Embrace it. They'll make UK their #2 seed, too. Watch and see. I called that they'd put us in UNC's bracket in 2017, even though it defied logic.

They want the high ratings games. I bet they try to find a way to have a UK/UCLA matchup as well.

With the East Region Final in Philly, it is looking that way. Wouldn't surprise me one bit. Rematch of the 1992 East Region Final for K to relive his greatest victory.

Let’s dig a bit further.

Duke is 12 in the NET. Teams 1-11 have either 0 Quad 2 losses or 1 Quad 2 loss. 2 for Duke.

In the NET top 20, only 2 teams have a Quad 3 loss. Duke and LSU.

I mean, if they weren’t named Duke, no one would be considering it.

If the SEC were as weak as the ACC, we’d be debating whether UK would get a 3 or 4.

Coach K's last season is also a factor. You know the NCAA wants to help him as much as possible. This is a very real factor.

Thank you! Somebody gets it..its about who did you play and who did you beat. 0 quad 1 wins in what..10 games? Or longer?? Their best win was months ago when they beat Gonzaga. So unless every team ahead of them has multiple losses from today on it won't happen.

They don't need every team ahead of them to have multiple losses. They just need to make their case over whoever the committee is considering for the 4th #1 seed.

Right now that looks like Baylor, Purdue, or Kansas.



The metrics should matter, but I don't think they will matter. Not with Duke. Not with K's last season.

So wins against the top two Kenpom teams (Kentucky and Gonzaga) a better record than eight of the top nine, four points total from being undefeated in the ACC, nine points total from being undefeated on the season, a starting five who might end up being first round picks… but you think there are 8-11 teams more deserving than Duke? I dunno about that.

Not only did the Blue Devils win, they did so on the road, a feat to be celebrated under the circumstances. They also looked the part of a No. 1 seed. The problem for Duke is that, no matter how impressive it plays down the stretch, it cannot match the résumé wins of the non-ACC powers this year.
There could be considerable momentum behind the Blue Devils, especially given the Coach K angle, but it should tell us something that Duke -- despite being the only winner on the top two lines -- leapfrogged just a single team in the seed list. The Blue Devils and Purdue swapped the seventh and eighth positions. It was a day to cherish, not build a new bracket. At least not yet.

Exactly. He has them as the 3rd two seed ahead of Purdue. We're #6 with Auburn #5.

The way I see it because of their schedules I see duke and Gonzaga as locks for 1 seeds. Everyone else will beat up on one another and the conference tourneys will have a big impact even the sec this time

The Final Hurrah for Coach K at Duke 30 - 4 on the season, 1 seed in the east on the 30th anniversary of the greatest win in history, over number 2 seeded Kentucky. hahaha

Love them storylines too !

I thought they didn't make the brackets out for any particular matchups or storylines.... lol

How many points are they from having a couple of more losses. Less than 9 I’m pretty sure.
