Man, this is not how I saw this game going, scoring wise
I also love this squad. It just feels right.
Kick a little tush and then it's back on the bus.
2 things:
- cal, indeed can coach and identify matchup advantages
- We can play at any style /pace making us quite dangerous come March

Very wise to get Collins and ware good minutes in these environments. Don't want them learning the ropes in the second round when Oscar gets two cheap ones.
Holmgren looks like the tallest extra in Schindler's List.

Bama did have a superior shot chart so it pretty much cancels out the victory.
- Elite D tonight- and we’ve been headed that way. Wheeler is a pest. Washington is plain excellent. Grady has become very good. And our team D and rotations, well I’m not saying 2003 good but really impressive.
- Tschibwe was mediocre at best. Wheeler wasn’t good. Grady was excellent in his 5 shots. Brooks was okay. Washington decent. Mintz his usual mixed bag. And we won by 10 on the road. Don’t know what to say. Really good team.
- Props to Cal seeing Collins’ value in this ballgame. I would have been too hesitant. Kid comes back next year and I’m starting the McDyess comparisons.

Extremely pleased with Collins. Played awesome, and if the beers haven't screwed up my math he was 6-6 at the stripe.
My little guy (8), knows when a game is and comes downstairs to the bar and pulls out his cash register and plays bartender.
plunks that thing on the bar and hands me the plastic credit card that he happily swipes as he grabs me drinks (of open bottles) and names hysterically outlandish prices.

Your math is correct. He’s also 13-15 for the season, making him our best free throw shooter at 87%.
He deserves his spots, even if it’s just to give Oscar a two minute breather. I feel like any lob that ends within ten feet of the rim, is a dunk for Collins. And if they foul him, the FTs are damn near automatic.

They’re showing a live cornhole championship on ESPN News. The announcer is talking about the players’ choice of bag materials, and how it might allow them to better hook a bag into the hole.
If TyTy didn't get hurt at Auburn, we could be talking about being the number one overall seed right now. If we win out (which is looking more possible), we will almost certainly be a one seed. I wouldn't mind being a two seed in any region other than Duke's. I want to be on the opposite of the bracket against them. They are the only squad that scares me.
* How many other teams have a 6'9 McDonald's All-American X-factor coming off the bench? If Collins keeps being a contributor, this is a completely different squad. For all the Sharpe talk, the guy who completes our rotation could have been on the bench the whole season.
It wouldn't surprise me if Collins has been dealing with minor injuries all year and his spindly little legs are just getting used to rigors of college basketball. Kind of shocked to see Collins has played 19 games this season, tbh,
* We have a ton of guys who might be back next year -- Wheeler, Brooks, Collins, Toppin, Ware, Sharpe, Hopkins, and, hell, even Oscar. Makes watching this team all the more enjoyable. imo.
* TyTy might very well be the best freshman point guard of the Cal Era. Wall was clearly the better player but even as a superstar, Wall did not do all of the things that a great point guard does. TyTy does.
Wheeler & Washington is up there with Fox & Monk, Ulis & Murray, and Knight & Lamb as best duos, too. Even though Wheeler didn't score and had 4 turnovers last night, he still had 7 assists and 3 steals. He's the kind of guard that would drive us insane in March if he played on some mid-major. Love that kid.
* The 2003 comparison looks more and more apt every time this squad eviscerates a good opponent on the road. After taking Alabama's opening haymaker, we just flat whipped their asses last night.
