GYERO is supposedly a sports thing, but most of you are clueless. You haven’t lived and died with what some of us have. The home teams — UK, Reds, Bengals. If you choose someone else, **** you.

This week, is Bengals week. If you don’t love em, **** you. You don’t know 1982. And you damn sure don’t know 1988. We were the best. Sam Wyche invented the no huddle offense. Later it became the “sugar huddle”. Then the NFL decided to rule it illegal. Just as we were entering the AFC championship game. We won that one.

Annnnnd we go to the Super Bowl. With the best nose guard in the league, Tim Krumrie. Ugh.

Rogan took a perfect high ground approach in that response. It wasn’t an apology because he had nothing to apologize for. He made everyone against him look unreasonable.
I appreciated that Rogan's Neil Young story was about how a young Rogan was a security guard who quit during a Neil Young concert rather than risk getting hurt. That's some 4-D chess.

I also appreciate Barry Manilow getting in on this to let the world know that the "rumors" that he wants his music removed from Spotify over Rogan are false. There hasn't been a Barry Manilow rumor in 20 years and there won't be again until he dies and I start the rumor that he died from putting gerbils up his *** and they ate him from the inside out.

* Any one want to tell KSR Terry that the Super Bowl is in two weeks, not one?

* If I'm gambling, my money is on the Rams at -3.5. I'll be rooting for the Bengals.

* I'll be in St. Pete Beach for the Super Bowl. Are there any Bengals bars down there to catch the game?

* I like watching the COVID thread slowly peter out and (hopefully) die. Hopefully the end of the school year will be the death knell for anything to do with COVID and we can all move on.

* How the hell was this not a national news story?

Pretty sure that guy was not ready for the “someone banging your wife” ramifications of a swingers party.

Speaking if "banging your wife swinger parties"... the conspiracy theory of Fidel Castro being Justin Trudeau's father is probably my favorite going right now.

Saw another good one the other day that Trump is actually Elvis.

Hopefully Cal and crew are looking for the next Oscar.

Pre reqs: large hands, big butt, from a 3rd world country who plays every second as if he is trying to save his burning village from an African dictator.

Oh, playing your 1st two years of high school at Mountain Mission in Grundy, Virginia a plus.

Re: Super Bowl:
  • Always enjoyed busting the Bengals fans' balls, but I do have a soft spot in my heart for them. And with the addition of Burrow they've just been a more likeable team. So sorry, I'm going to jump on their bandwagon if you can make room.
  • I am a Panther's fan, but it's so long since I've lived in Charlotte (and my wife cancelled Sunday Ticket), so it's hard to follow them. I've become more of a fan of certain players than teams like I'm some sort of Gen Z'er. But there are so many likeable players and teams it makes it tough.
  • Which QB do you even root against these days?
    • Lamar Jackson - I like him despite his Cardinal roots
    • DeShaun Watson - I liked him before, hate-able now obviously. But will he play again?
    • Jimmy G - He sucks too much to hate
    • Darnold - I guess you can hate your own teams QB
    • Mahomes - You can only really hate his brother and fiance
    • Baker Mayfield is the obvious answer
  • Tough Super Bowl to bet
    • I like Cincy's ability to slow the pass
    • The Ram's pass-rush is going to be trouble
    • Coaching might be even
    • I guess Burrow is the X-factor
    • Give me the Bengals +4

- So much good hoops on tonight. Bama/Auburn, KU/Iowa State in Ames, and Tech/Texas in Lubbock. That last one should be fun, because as WCC's link showed, TT fans absolutely loathe Beard right now. That's good for college basketball, as long as there are no mustard bottles being thrown by the Tech faithful.

- I thought Porter Moser was a weird hire for Oklahoma, and wondered if his run at Loyola was simply because of that big Krautwig kid. But even with a weird roster, he's beaten some good teams and they've been right there in losses to other good teams. So who knows maybe the sooners will win?

- Can't imagine I'll watch too much of the Winter Olympics simply because it bumps up against college hoops, but I'm down for anything that doesn't involve judges' scoring. Give me something where the opponent is a clock, a target, or an actual opponent, and I'm good. Short-track speed skating is pretty fun to watch. And I'll catch American hockey because the roster includes last year's first-round pick by MY Seattle Kraken.

- New England recs for an early summer trip sans kids? Bar Harbor has been the default leader, but I'm up for any other suggestions.

It’s pretty easy to hate on Dak, Aaron Rodgers, Baker, but I kind of like seeing Kyler Murray struggle.

All of them pale in comparison to the hate I feel for Ryan Tannehill!

- Beavers are the largest rodent in North America.

- They are known for eating wood.

- Beavers are one of the few animals that modify their environment by not only building dams but also lodges.

I didn’t think Matt Jones could say anything to make himself look more ignorant, and then he asks how does snow get dirty lol. This is even worse than how do you hang a picture and how do you get an oil change. When it comes to Man Card, MJ is just below PeeWee Herman. Matt’s handshake must be like grabbing a Kleenex out of the box.

He asked if anyone has ever even been on a zero turn mower like it’s some conspiracy that they even exist

-In the market from some new gym shoes and I'm just not feeling the new metacons. Trainer suggested the On Clouds but that's giving up on the last strand of youth I have, right? They're not very good looking shoes either.

-Good read on the PPP loans and where the money went from the NYT.

-The Rogan response was great. He showed some contrition but dared the naysayers to come on and spread their message. Then he told a story about working a Young concert and credited Joni Mitchell with a song she didn't sing. Lol.

-I wouldn't even know the name Joni Mitchell if not for Love Actually.

-Mixed on the new Jackass movie. That whole thing kinda ran it's course with me after series and movie. Now it's a little weird b/c half of them are dead, strung out, and old. I did love it back in the day tho but probably a skip.

-Tom Brady and Lamar for me.

-Man, it's been a long time since we've had this feeling about the Cats. Just blasting teams. 2 loses in the last 6 weeks came without both our guards, randomly, and we were still right there at the end. AP Top 5. Kenpom 2nd. Metrics indicitive of a championship quality team. POY front runner. Crushed KU at Phog. Bravado on 10 right now. Walking into Rupp Wednesday night arrogantly looking for blood. I have missed this feeling.

-Really wanting to upgrade to a solid 4k TV but our main TV takes a beating from the kids so it just seems like a terrible idea.

On is without question the worst "running" shoe that's been on the market in my lifetime. Everyone I know who works at a running store hates them, because anyone who buys a pair that's an actual runner hates them and immediately brings them back. The return rates are astronomical. They're a good looking shoe, but they are the official stay-at-home mom/yuppie Dad Bod lifestyle shoe. Unless you're just buying them purely for looks, which is fine, I would steer clear of that ridiculous brand.

I know most of GYERO thinks the state ends at Bowling Green but where I grew up the St.Louis Cardinals was who we grew up watching and rooting for. So **** the REDS.

And I can tell you no one west of 65 gives a **** about the Bengals either. Stop acting like they’re the Commonwealth’s team.

Happy for the Bengals Fans in GYERO but let’s not act like the Bengals are on par with UK Athletics here as far as state wide fan support goes.
