I didn't watch the final few minutes of the game. It's hard to win with 19 less free throws and 2/5 starters out for a while. I'm not ticked about that at all, but the one thing that burns me is that they gave up that same Kessler dunk too many times. After it happened the third time, you would have thought something would change to stop it.

I am not happy that are offense sucks if no one can beat their man off the dribble. All you have to do is get up in our faces and play aggressive defense and we struggle no matter who plays. It was like that last game without any injuries as well as this game with injuries.

Cal just can't teach good offense. All we do is that stupid weave and try and find a driving lane or pass around until someone has to force up a shot. To much one on one. Basing your whole offense off of having to beat your man one on one is a terrible recipe for success without elite players.

We were controlling the game when Tyty went out. I think we win if that doesn’t happen.

on the other hand it shows how much we rely on him. Could burn us later in the tournament if someone else doesn’t emerge (ahem, Sharpe anyone?)

This.

We were up 10 before Tyty left. We were getting easy buckets and they were making tough shots to keep it as close as it was. Everything changes when your best player goes down, whether the "Farrr Cal" crowed wants to admit or not.

I wouldn't say mad but it is disappointing that we can't seem to have a full squad in these tough road games.

At full strength @ Lsu and @ Auburn could have very well been wins.

You lose an all american level player and 10 minutes of your other best guard against a top 2 team on the road and take a third as many free throws as they do and lose by single digits?

We'd be lucky to win our first game in the tournament.

I was one asking for Sharpe today but didn’t expect it and totally understand why he wouldn’t be thrown into that one today.

I still think he HAS to play this year, though.

When Tyty goes down and when Wheeler goes down and the lead is dwindling and then we go down, I totally understand fans wanting Sharpe. It will be this way the entire season whenever we are in trouble.

Conversely I totally understand him not playing in this game.

Ideally you gradually play Sharpe this season and if he does well, he gets more and more mins as we go along.

Putting him into a game vs the number 2 team in the country on the road, when we don't have Tyty and we don't have Wheeler and everyone expects him to come in and save the game, isn't the right situation IMO.

But he tosses Hopkins and Ware out there.

Does Calipari stalling up 9 with 5 to go in the first half not cause problems?

Cal is what he is, and he’s not a good floor coach. We need more playmakers to overcome it.

It's true. We don't have a great bench.

We get absolutely nothing from Allen, Hopkins and Collins.
Ware plays sparingly and when he does he almost never does anything well.

And Toppin while he has moments doesn't have many of them.

This team cannot deal with players going out for significant periods of time. At full strength, this is one of the best teams in the country. But there's a significant drop off once the starters are out for any period of time.

I don't think anyone was intentionally trying to stall in this game.

What happened was Tyty got hurt and once that happened, our offense stalled out. We weren't trying to play that way, it's just what happened. There was no movement without the ball, no nothing. Just Wheeler pounding the ball into the ground for 25 seconds.
