And Cal has had some of the best talent ever to play and probably 500 to 1 the talent Pearl has had. Cal has one National Championship with all that. And the title is the ultimate goal. I don't follow Pearl close enough to know all his dirt but I do believe the one thing he got busted for is now allowed. If we all remember a little ways back....Cal is/was considered scum and a cheat by may. Its easy to point at the other guys dirty laundry though.

Kentucky gives you a lot of opportunities you donāt get elsewhere, but Pearl wouldnāt be able to sustain high caliber success here. Unless of course things changed and it was the right fit, and he was willing to take it more seriously than heās ever taken his job.

If Pearl is as slimy as UK fans claim, heād never go there. Heās recruiting (or paying as yāall claim) at an elite level four a university that doesnāt have nearly the expectations of Kentucky. Again, you claim heās scum. Which means (in theory) heād use an interview to negotiate a higher salary where he doesnāt have to work as hard or achieve as much as what UK demands. And he knows that Auburn would be willing to match whatever salary UK offered. So no, I donāt think the assumption he would immediately jump ship for UK makes any sense
It's easy to explain, he hasn't had the players and elite recruits to any way near the level of Cal. Coaches can't shoot or defend, but look at the adjustments, substitution patterns, and in game decisions. Now, no Pearl isn't perfect you can find fault with any coach. But, are you even suggesting he has had anywhere near the rosters?

Nope, not same rosters however they do things totally different these days.
By choice, Cal has brought in OAD guys who are Freshmen in his system. Coaches have marveled about that for years. Pearl on the other hand has been more traditional with 3-4 year guys who grow into his system and he's supplemented with some star Freshmen.
If you look at when Cal did that at UMass he had much success. So I guess what I'm saying is, regardless of their approach if the roles were reversed Cal would still have similar results with 3-4 year guys (maybe even better) that Pearl would.
Why? Any team that relies so much on perimeter shooting in CBB as Auburn/Bama and others do has a silver bullet waiting for them.
