When your coaches buy-out is 86 million, and he's under a lifetime contract, this is what we as fans get. A coach that is unwilling to adapt. The dude has been doing the same exact same **** for years now. Refuses to run any sets for certain players. Refuses to run out-of-bounds plays. Refuses to modernize his offense. Refuses to zone. Even situational.

So here we are now. Probably headed to be unranked again, and Kansas will pass us in all-time wins this season.
Very likely will be unranked. And losing to KU a near certainty (they’d have to catch the flu or have players in Covid protocol for us to win).

Minimum of 10 losses. Could be as high as 14.

I am so tired of the same users bashing Coach Cal with what he has brought to Kentucky basketball in last 12 years. I am not saying that changes to the offense isn't needed or better Defense needed when ND on almost every play was driving for layups for ND points Saturday. My complaint is do we have to go to the extreme and every post is Cal needs to Retire or Cal needs Fired in every Post.

I know I don't have to go over the last 12 years to see how many Final Fours, Elite 8's, and Sweet 16's Coach Cal has taken Kentucky in last 12 years. The year before 9-16 when the Tourney was cancelled Kentucky was 25-6 and playing its best basketball heading into March Madness. Most Experts had us picked making a deep run in the Tourney 2 years ago. I continue to hear fans say the last 5-6 years Coach Cal has done Nothing for Kentucky Basketball. Since the NIT year and it wouldn't have been a NIT year if Nerlens Noel doesn't go down in the Florida game when UK was playing good basketball being 18-6 and 8-2 SEC. When Noel went down UK finished 4-5 in last 9 games to finish 20-11. After the 12-13 NIT 6 out 7 seasons Kentucky has been to 2 Final Fours, 4 Elite 8's, 5 Sweet 16s, Regular Season SEC Champs with Covid Cancellation. There was 2 years in 17-18 S16 Kansas State Loss UK went 23-38 FT's and in 18-19 E8 OT Loss to Auburn UK went 12-22 FT's and 8 Turnovers from our PG. Those 2 Seasons UK could have easily made it to the Final Fours in 17-18 & 18-19 if UK doesn't go 35-60 FTs combined and 8 Turnovers in Elite 8 OT Loss to Auburn. Coach Cal can't go out and hit the FTs and not make Turnovers. It could have been 4 Final Fours, 5 Elite 8's, 6 sweet 16's, SEC Champs with Covid Cancellation to the 19-20 Tourney. That is pretty amazing since the 12-13 NIT Coach Cal last 6 of 7 years have been outstanding.

We also know after 12 seasons that Coach Cal is known for his teams playing outstanding ball from Mid-January to March Madness. That is why UK has always made Deep Runs into the Tourney making it to the Final Four, Elite8's, and S16's over last 12 seasons. The NIT Season with Noel's Injury and Covid season with Zero fans and players not living up to 5-star play and Injuries to Brooks and Clarke during the season the other 10 Seasons has been S16's, Elite8's and Final Fours, and a National Championship.

Just go back since 1972 when Joe Hall coached 13 seasons and had 3 Final Fours and 1 National Championship, to Coach Sutton's issues, Pitino with 1 Championship and then to the Boston Celtics, to Coach Tubby Smith 1 championship from Pitino's players and next 9 no FF's, to Gillispie nightmare, and then to Coach Cal doing an outstanding job after 12 seasons with 1 National Championship, more Final Fours, Elite 8's, and S16's over the last 50 years in comparison with these 5 Head Coaches. I just don't think after a loss we need to start 50 posts on Coach Cal needs to quit or Coach Cal needs fired. There are plenty of outstanding teams this year that had bad losses on the Road and some even at Home. We know Coach Cal's teams 95% of the time are always playing outstanding ball at the end of the season when March Madness rolls around each year.

Calipari had 6 good years at UK. Since 2015 he's pretty much just phones it in. He's collecting a massive salary to do more than lose to Evansville on our home floor and more recently a garbage Notre Dame team. We don't even have a rivalry with Dook anymore because we can't beat them. Is 9-16 acceptable from a coach who has supposedly done all those fantastic things...FF's, Elite 8's, #1 recruiting classes, blah, blah, blah?
Stop drinking the kool-aid. Calipari has never been a great Xs and O's coach. He's a great recruiter which, is basically like being a great used car salesman. Now, he's demeaning the fanbase and throwing his players under the bus. Whatever mojo he had is gone. Kids have figured out they can go anywhere and get noticed by NBA teams. They've also figured out Calipari isn't the only guy who can get them ready for the next level. UK is no longer the straw that stirs the drink. We need to go our separate ways and get the program back on top!
