Why not try a zone?

Can’t play man to man. Can’t play zone. Unless it’s church league and best you can do is stand flat footed with your arms up. I don’t care about some half *** zone in peewee pro ball or what grade schoolers do when they are learning the ball bouncers. We’re gonna pkay man to man. You haters are going to lay in the floor and scream. I get it
Blah, blah, blah.

We don't need zone. What these guys need is in-game experience playing with each other along with what they get from practicing. Just gonna take a little bit of time. Luckily, we have 3pt shooters and an offensive rebounding machine to help carry us.

Nobody is saying play zone for 40 minutes but it doesn't hurt to have options on defense. There will come a time later in the season that it will benefit us.

Having only one defense is like a MLB pitcher with only one pitch. Dumb.

We need to have another pitch to change tempo. Make teams prepare for multiple defenses instead of good teams patiently running plays to get the isolation matchups they want against our switching man to man.

Also, sometimes foul trouble dictates a zone.
Some teams can’t shoot- Duke 1-13 on 3s. Zone was needed to make them change their game plan. They killed us in isolations driving to the basket. Scoring at the rims bs launching jump shots.

When you are out of shape and need to defend an area instead of a team...you zone.

But I do think it could be of benefit, to mix up defense and cause opponents to rethink their strategy.

Yes, the best defensive teams can mix it up and play both. Changing defenses from time to time can affect the pace of the game and can keep the opposing team off balance. It’s worked against us many times. We are very easy to prepare and game plan for because every coach/team we face knows exactly what we’re going to do.
