Wasn’t that your reaction when I told you smoke for Lively to Durham on Aug. 4? Or someone else? No Duke fan here. Cut it out. I have a brick at JCC as others have already verified.
So you were right since before UK got any momentum by saying he was going to the school he was going to the whole time and we couldn't steal, compared to a player who Cal is damn near the God-Father of... his entire life growing up was made because of our coach (and Wagners hard work but Cal helped) and his family is already on our team. Show the Duke angle for him to me so we can discuss. Please do

Probably want to visit together to tell Cal at the same time that they're teaming up and playing for Memphis and the G League.

Andrew Slater keeps hinting that he's going to UCLA.
Then it’s Collins or Tshiebwe or both back or a transfer. We will have a quality big man. There’s too many options out there. I doubt we come out empty handed.

Some big man is going to feast playing down low with Sharpe, Livingston, Clark, Fredrick, Allen, and likely Wallace on the perimeter.

Wouldn't this be the second time in recent classes that we had 2 big men targets and everything thought we would get at least one, only to lose both? If so, that is very troubling.

Collins is a projected lottery pick as of now. If he plays anywhere close to his potential he's gone. Tshiebwe possibly unless he develops the ability to score away from the rim or has a really good season. If Bona goes to UCLA we better hope the transfer portal has some good options. I could see Cal trying to reclass a big man. Not alot of choices there either.

Not sure about him being a lottery pick. He isn’t even projected to start for us this season.

If he plays enough to warrant being a lottery pick, then we probably had one heck of a season.

If he plays limited minutes behind guys like Tshiebwe, Brooks, and Toppin as expected, he is probably looking at a late first round pick to second round pick based on potential. I can’t see a team taking a chance on an unproven commodity with a lottery pick.

Marvin Williams was the 2nd pick and didn't start. Booker was i believe lottery without starting and he didn't have close to the athleticism Collins does. He can very easily go lottery after the season. Nobody knows and he might be a superstar or he may be exposed with his lack of weight. We'll find out soon

Bad examples, IMHO.

Marvin Williams was 6th man and only didn’t start because Roy loves upperclassmen and rarely ever started Freshmen unless he had to. I think Roy Williams had a total of five OAD players over his 30+ year career. He plays for any other coach in the country and he starts.

And Booker played in a platoon system. We essentially had 10 starters that season.

He isn't going to play limited minutes book it. He will be a significant contributer we need a rim protector and he is elite at that. He and Oscar will split time at the 5 it's really that simple. He really has good ball skills for a 5 and seems very adept at finding spots to score. I wouldn't doubt if he ends up starting. I really think people are underestimating the impact he could have especially in today's game. He is everything this team needs and so is Oscar. Brooks and Toppin will hold down the 4 but there is no way Toppin gets more minutes than Collins, and I am high on Jacob Toppin as well and what he can do for us. It will all work itself out.

The primary concern is that he weighs under 200 lbs. and has never picked up a weight until arriving on campus. In the physical SEC he is going to have a tough time at the 5 most likely.

It is too early to say one way or the other. We are just speculating based on HS play and his physical attributes.

I am a little surprised a kid has never used weights in today's sports world. Just odd

K is retiring at the end of this season, so he wont coach Lively.... unless lively cant read or doesnt stay up to date on news of the schools he's looking at, I'm pretty sure he knows he'll be playing for Scheyer and not k
If he couldn’t read he’d be going to North Carolina.

no other coach in UK history was paid 10 million dollars
the other coaches were concerned about winning titles @ UK , not how many kids went to the NBA
Laugh. Recruiting has never been so good as under this coach. The 10 mill didn’t come out of your pocket. People infinitely better informed than you make salary decisions. You are just enforcing the most extreme negative aspects of the fanbase including ignorance and a lunatic perspective. By your standards, Rupp was a dismal failure. You can’t even get your head around coach speak when you hear it. All this just from this one thread. I know U6 fans with more basketball acumen. Quit making our fans look like crap and pretend you have a clue.

I am too but I don't think he is as weak as people think he is. I know I seen him squatting 225 and for a kid with that long of legs that isn't to shabby. He was also going down and getting in that sitting position with a 90 degree bend and it looked like he could have added some weight. There is a correlation with size and strength but it isn't the only factor when it comes to muscle output. I am excited about the kid as I am anyone on the team and in general I am really positive on the outlook of this group it just seems like a good mesh of complimentary peices.
