Pretending Kentucky had a chance so we could potentially lose out on Bona (again potentially) Why throw your ace out in August. Keep that in your back pocket. For what it is worth a good friend of mine from when I lived in Memphis who is a player on the AAU circuit says that Nike is the reason Lively went to Duke. They supposedly told him he had a better chance at a huge shoe deal with them straight out of college if he went to Duke. He said the same thing happened with Zion and they di award him with a monster shoe contract before he ever saw an NBA floor. We will never really be able to compete with that if true.
How can anyone compete? A shoe company having that amount of power over recruiting is unfair.
