He could drop 20 more spots and I'd still want him. Hes a great compliment to what we have coming in.
Only seen one clip compilation but I definitely liked what I saw. I'm guessing Cal wants Lively more, but other than Knox and Patterson, our record head to head with Duke isn't great.

Kentucky signs….
UK has momentum lately
Pushed up other commitments lately.
Makes sense they ask for a commitment when Bona is interested.
Possible crowded Duke frontcourt.

Duke signs…
They have a history of random commits to steal headlines.
Rumor he told friends on Duke he’s coming.

nobody knows but we will be fine with Bona or portal

I have placed my Crystal Ball with a confidence level of 6, that Jon Scheyer and the Duke Blue Devils will reel in the No. 2 overall prospect in the country.

I must make this clear that the decision is far from clear to sources throughout the industry. Lively’s decision is very much the biggest question that everyone is looking to have answered at this moment.

Where’s this rumor coming from that he’s told Duke players or friends whatever?

Another Crystal Ball pick just came in for Duke on 247 Sports.

This ones over. Just accept it right now and move on.

The thing about this crystal ball stuff is these picks aren't being made independently of one another.

Like I think it's a big difference if a bunch of different people are hearing information from different sources vs people just copying and piggybacking off other peoples picks.

I wonder how much of this is ......well ok Person X is saying player is going to this school. This person has predicted 19 or 20 correctly. Well I'm just going to jump on board as well and say he's also going to that school.

He could very well go to Duke but I'm very skeptical of these crystal ball picks.

they’re all 6 confidence. these picks aren’t coming off of solid information, they’re just guesses.

I think lively is a must land recruit. Cal can’t afford to continue to get his butt handed to him by duke. He fills a huge need. Ratface is gonna be gone.
Dude, he just landed two top 5 recruits in a week span. We're going to miss on guys. We missed on guys before and we'll miss on guys after. Relax, if the kid decides Duke then it is what it is. Bona will be committing soon after to Kentucky and with Cason that's 4 top 10 guys in one class. On top of returnees and transfer portal it's not a huge deal.

It matters when you lose the recruiting battle to duke. Either cal is back to his original self pre 2015 or he’s back to the 2.0 version that couldn’t beat duke out head to head in anything. Sure we re gonna lose guys. Cunningham young mcdaniels ok I can live with them but losing out to duke is an entirely different animal one that has been a thorn to cal sense he arrived.

super team with wall cousins etc Duke wins title

2015 undefeated team Duke wins title

then since then it’s been a blood bath on the court vs Duke and in the trenches recruiting.

Born and raised, where do you think he is guessing?
Just from what he has said on there board. He doesn’t know anymore than anyone else. It’s a mystery for now. Even branhams pick. Until it’s concrete and gets leaked these are all just hunches. One rumor is hopkins is telling people he isn’t coming. That’s coming from a duke site. How would they know before our Kentucky sources from a Kentucky player. Until Travis says done deal I’ll believe we still have a chance.

On the court? Could have sworn we beat them the next season (following 2015).

Don't worry, LeBron is too busy reading coloring books
This has to be the dumbest post of the year. As a player, he is one of my least favorite players, but to insinuate that he is dumb, you can only dream of being as successful off the court. He is probably one of the smartest players business wise to play the game. His mentor is Warren Buffett.

His business success off the court is probably unmatched. Before you mention Jordan, his success primarily came from his willingness to allow Phil Knight to make their fortune via Nike sweatshops, but I realize that I have digressed.

Ok you got me we won a game. And we landed EJ and Knox. All that pales in comparison to dukes successes at our expense.
You're the same guy who said if Cal didn't land Duren then we were in trouble and that he was a must land recruit. You will never be happy no matter who Cal lands. He can land the top player in the class with another top 5 kid and 2 more top 10 kids behind them and you'd still be mad... Oh wait, that's exactly what's happening right now.

His book review of Malcolm X was very well articulated 😂

duren and lively address the same types of needs. Something we ve been consistently whiffing on and had to fill with guys who graduate but can’t make it in the NBa.

you’re right I won’t be happy until cal makes up for last season with a couple titles

We get a top 15 kid as a consolation prize if things go South on Monday. Center is the least important position in the college game right now anyway. Just get a kid who can rebound and defend, and that's what Bona is.
Center is not the "least important position". You can't score if you don't have the basketball, and outrebounding the opponent is a big key in the SEC. We occasionally win games when outrebounded, but not often. That's not an opinion.

Still, guards are very important in college basketball. If we sign Wallace, I have faith that some suitable baseline players will want into our class.

Lively is an interesting prospect with upside, but he may be a little overrated at the moment. That happens sometimes. See Mohamed Bamba, James Wiseman, and Skal Labissiere. Lively can run the floor, but I suspect he won't be physical enough to dominate big matchups next year. Cal needs physical baseline players who can defend in the half court and rebound at both ends of the floor.

I’m glad this is going to end soon. Worst case we miss out and can focus on Bona and or next target. Lively won’t be the missing key to a championship. He is very raw offensively, however he would fit in perfect with the players we have committed and style we want to play.
