The timeline of all these guys will be a factor too.

Obviously Sharpe is supposed to pop soon, but what Smith/Wallace want to do and when also depends on what Clark wants to do and when.

Gonna be really tricky. I think we can mess it up and do okay, but to get it really right, gotta do a lot of proper juggling.

This will be where we hopefully see a change from what Ralph described as us knowing tomorrow's news after it happens instead of the day before.

no one is “poppin soon”. They are all gonna slow down and see where the money is especially if they are considering g league. No one on UKs roster right now is looking at big money. So UK is not going have that guy to optimize nil as an example to other elites. Hell idk if there is enough opportunities for a guy at UK to pull nil cash like there is at schools like Memphis and UCLA. Cal needed duren he needed that star player to not pick Memphis. He needed to use him as an example to sharpen lively and others of what they can do at UK. It’s obvious duren saw more $$$$ at Memphis.

If Sharpe commits in September will you stop posting forever?

Yeah you're right. That one example in 15 years is the benchmark. I can't possibly keep up.

Solid job avoiding the bet though. Most people won't even notice.
Right now after crapping the bed last year yeah that is a benchmark. Intelligent people look at trends and were things are today not 15 years ago. You gonna buy stock or other investments based on 15 years ago when the market was completely different or are you going to evaluate based on the changes in the market and current trends??? I know people who have been sitting on cash waiting for 2007 2008 housing crisis to hit again. It’s not happening now an values are skyrocketing. 15 years ago means nothing. Only now the present and where it’s headed matter.

another thing about your challenge to me which honestly is disgusting. A UK fan challenging another UK fan to pull against the programs success is well it makes me question who you are actually a fan of. But that’s why you’re on ignore and it will stay that way. Chao

Well stated and completely agree. Only thing is Duren was a guy they led for so long.....it's just awful to lose him to another CBB program. If they lost him to the G-League, it's understandable, but to Memphis is a tough pill to swallow for Cal. He can "love his team" all he wants but he got beat on a guy who was seen as a UK lean for 2 1/2 yrs.
Cal needs a different approach. Period.

That is a recurring theme

I say get rid of Calipari after this year and hopefully Barnhart will get us a good coach that can get us some top five talent in this place like the old days

Wish that would do it, but that won't put more money in the NIL pot at UK.

I don't follow recruiting, are we looking at a kid that is a sure thing, then isn't a sure thing, then ultimately commits elsewhere?

CBB as some of us older fans know has changed and i don't see it for the better. When they started paying players i said it would open up a can of worms and i still think it has. There should have been a cap on what the players get paid, after all they are going to school free. JMO

Literally couldn't tell you the last time Slater was wrong tbh. Dude never gives predictions unless he's certain he'll be right. There's a reason people put so much weight into his gif predictions for recruits.
To be fair, sometimes he makes a gif/prediction for a guy and then some time will go by without him commiting, then he will change his prediction to another school. I think we have Sharpe in the bag, but the longer it drags out, the worse it is for us.

Sharpe is one of the best guards I've seen in a while. He looks like a pro. Strong with the ball and is a killer

Maybe Cal can fork some of that money to some businesses to entice some Top players. Seems like we are always the bridesmaid and not the bride since 2015. Our luck is bound to change.

Any insight how UK got beat out for him, @ralphdaltonfan?

I'll ask my friend but I have no personal clue. I do know that friend said that UK staff did a great job with his official visit and Duren really liked the program's pitch and staff/team. Being in position they were in for so long.....it is usually a bad visit or not getting along with team/coaches that changes things but in this case that wasn't a factor.

Funny how the frauds in durham can lock up 2 kids in a week and Cal and company can't. Something is off.

Where is this talk coming from that we were in such great position for a long time?

Wasn't the consensus that he was never playing college basketball until very recently? How can you lead for a kid no one expects to commit anywhere?

We weren't even favorites for 2022 Duren in most people's eyes, that was Michigan if I remember right. It was even more of an uphill battle with 2021 Duren considering our roster
