From what I’ve read, he’s very interested. If he pulls out of the draft and UK wants him, he’s a lock. That’s what I’ve gathered.Do we know if Cockburn is even interested in UK ? Has he made know that he has ?
I haven't checked but where is Cockburn on the mock drafts?
Don't worry, the refs will have 2 or 3 of our bigs in foul trouble before the first under 12 timeout.I don't want to sign either of them if it's going to tempt Cal to try to play big. I think getting guys minutes is going to be tough enough with our current roster, adding more guys is just going to make that worse IMO.
I see Kofi Cockburn as the rough equivalent for Kentucky next year of what Udonka Azibuike was for Kansas 2020 -- for good or ill.
The good: Kansas was going into that tournament as the #1 overall seed, largely based on what Azibuike had brought to the table. So, that's here any program would want to be in March. Azibuike was a guy who in another era would have been long gone to the NBA, but stuck around because the NBA isn't drafting aricraft carriers early. Same with Cockburn.
The bad: I really felt Kentucky had a better chance than Kansas of winning that tournament if Hagans got his head out of his *** and became part of a three-guard attack including Maxey and IQ. I felt someone was going to do to Kansas what Loyola-Chicago did to Illinois last year -- a judo move where you use a team's size and bulk against them. Now, Kentucky would have so many other options with Collins and Oscar and Brooks and Toppin to go smaller and quicker that the Cats would not face the same vulnerablity that Illinois did -- and that Kansas might have.
Damn, don't like the sound of that. Slater's almost always right. The most recent thing I can find from one of the sources that matter has him projected in the mid-50s. So a solid chance to go undrafted.
But that same article says he's keeping his name in the draft according to guys like Slater. That was at the end of May, so maybe he's changed his mind. We'll know in the next five days.
Get liquored up first...I'm allergic to shell fish.
That you as a long time ago, before transferring was even a possibilityDamn, don't like the sound of that. Slater's almost always right.
I bet we miss out on both.

That is my hope.Seems odd that there'd be all this speculation now if it was a done deal six weeks ago for him to remain in the draft. There wouldn't be reports about "if he withdraws," so I don't know what to think.
I still wonder if the staff isn't floating it to hurry up Duren because of the staff's relationship with Kofi.
Can you still win with 2 non-shooting bigs? Absolutely... but you better defend the HELLLLL out of the 3 point line... , offensive rebound at greater than 40%, and both bigs needs to be very efficient from the floor on 2s... like 60% efficient.
Shocking, notI don't want to sign either of them if it's going to tempt Cal to try to play big. I think getting guys minutes is going to be tough enough with our current roster, adding more guys is just going to make that worse IMO.
Easy answer for me…Kofi. If you had to choose one who do you take? The highly touted recruit that is built like a tank? Or the proven college veteran that is built like a mega-tank?
I expect Duren will be more sought after but I could see a valid argument either way. Curious to see who some would pick if given the choice.
Supposedly, UK is actively pursuing Cockburn. Ironically, him and Oscar were the two bigs I hoped we would land a couple years ago, if Wiseman went elsewhere. I’m sure many other UK fans felt the same.
Agreed. You gotta take a junior 2nd team AA performer, if he wants to come. Figure the specifics out later. JMO.I really hope we get Kofi. We could wait around and still lose Duren and end up with neither. Things could get interesting over the weekend/ first of next week.
