Historically, Cal has true contenders with a Top 5 talent on the team. Favorites? I doubt that. Gonzaga has a stronger case for that.

Gonzaga is gonna be good, just not as good as last year. They definitely would be in the discussion for it.
I feel like this is a familiar rhythm. Actual sites with actual sources post some news, say they think Kentucky is in a solid spot, etc and then one of the My First Blog sites takes it a step further to try and look like they had the scoop.
That's not to say this can't happen, just that I've seen this song and dance enough to be skeptical.

Yes, when people where talking AD, Garnett, etc. I said Chris Webber was my best comp. Dude is a grown *** man NOW, he is one of the few who comes into his freshman year with a college ready body, much less a NBA one. He is ready and would contribute day 1 in the NBA now. Imagine if UK gets him for a year ??? We can only hope, but with every passing day, it looks more and more of a possibility. I just hope IF he attends college, officials do not handicap him with calling games to equal out size and talent to make it more fair for his opponents. Call it the Shaq whistle. Shaq took a beating in college, hell in the NBA. To get a foul call, it almost had to be a mugging.
I don’t get all the Gonzaga hype. They had a better team this past year and got obliterated in the Championship. Timme is a good, but far from great, big guy. He's similar to Luke Garza. Great offensive player, horrible defender. Holmgren is a talented player, but he is going to have issues with his lack of strength. Their backcourt is taking a big step back losing Suggs and Kispert. Sallis' ranking plummeted in the final ranking and most of our own fans viewed Hickman as a project player when he was committed here. Just not sure what the hype is based on.
Gonzaga is definitely one of the favorites, but they took a big hit in the backcourt losing all three starters at the 1-3.
Personally, I'm not saying I would have Gonzaga as the favorites. I'm saying they'll get more consideration for it, nationally, than we will. Lots of teams returned a lot of players. We did a massive roster makeover. It'll take people some time to have faith in us.

Yea. Innocent jokes are one thing, but a couple were just downright inconsiderate. Maybe not intended to be as such, but they were.
