What stories? After reading some of the stories that have come out about KAT, I'm 100% on Butlers side. He's had a tough year and sounds like a genuinely good guy, but he's he's horrible teammate.

I understand what you’re saying. It’s pretty easy to dog a guy who has only ever played on a bad team/organization. There’s only maybe a handful of guys in the league that would’ve led those Timberwolves teams to a better record if you replace them for Towns.
Yeah the only year he’s had help, Wiggins sucked and wasn’t a winner. Maybe they can build around the Halftime Jersey popper.
- 2015-16: 29-53
2016-17: 31-51- 2017-18: 47-35
- 2018-19: 36-46
- 2019-20: 19-45
- These are the T-Wolves records in the years KAT has been there. You want to guess which year Jimmy Butler was there?
Even Kevin Garnett couldn’t lead the TWolves to anything and nobody ever thought he was soft. It’s pretty easy to dog a guy who has only ever played on a bad team/organization. Thank you. If that’s soft? Butlers numbers are if anything, barely better. What’s that make Butler? Plus, KAT isn’t team hopping every other year. F Butler.Interesting thoughts on someone who averages 25 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists a game.
Who gives a F, the Minny GM thinks he’s good enough for a got damn max contract. Dudes putting up solid numbers. Butlers a *****. I don’t know how anybody can defend this tool bag.I understand what you’re saying.
I can also say the sentiment around the league (KAT has gone from the guy that most GMs say they’d start a franchise with to not in the top 10 in the last 5 years) echos a lot of what Butler says. NBA people have said KAT is one of the worst defenders in the league at his position.
now are all these people just listening to Jimmy Butler? Where is it coming from?
In a covid year where the entire event was played in the same location in FL, after a 5 month layoff. And they got torched by the Lakers.Eastern Conference Finals?
I’m not going to do any mental gymnastics here, you asked what he’s won and I told you.In a covid year where the entire event was played in the same location in FL, after a 5 month layoff. And they got torched by the Lakers.
So, nothing?I’m not going to do any mental gymnastics here, you asked what he’s won and I told you.
Eastern Conference Finals is something. So, nothing?
Whether true or not, there’s a perception that KAT is too soft, doesn’t play defense, is too concerned with his own stats, and lacks the toughness and killer instinct to lead a winner.Someone fill me in on why KAT is a poor team mate; or why GM’s would not want to start a franchise with him?
Right. Just a couple years ago there were NBA people saying KAT is one of the worst defenders in the league at his position. That’s not going to get you a lot of love around the league. (Unless you’re James Harden apparently)Whether it’s true or not, there’s a perception now that KAT is too soft, doesn’t play defense, is too concerned with his own stats, and lacks the killer instinct needed to lead a winner.
Again, not saying I agree with that, just letting you know what’s being said.
Eastern Conference Finals is something.
Again, I like KAT. To me this conversation isn’t all about jimmy vs KAT. My point was Jimmy Butler isn’t the only dude in the league saying this stuff about KAT. He’s just the only one that’s a big enough ******* to go straight after KAT with it.
Nobody’s expecting him to lead them “to titles.” But at least maybe be average once in a while? The only time KAT’s teams have ever done that was when Butler was his teammate.I love everyone acting like KAT doesn’t have ‘it’ simply because he’s not leading one of the worst franchises to ever exist to titles.
Nobody wins in the nba not names james, curry, Durant.Hell, Butler is on a good Heat team and still technically hasn't won ****.
10 boards for someone his size isn't great. It's decent, but it kinda tells the story of a guy who doesn't go all outGetting 10 rebounds a game isn’t indicative of a player who is really soft imo. Put Karl on a contending team and I think he is a big help. Put Butler on the Timberwolves roster and he doesn’t win ****. No matter how much of a bad *** he thinks he is.
KAT wasn't real good in that game. Kaminsky had a good game aswell. How many championship rings does Butler have? KAT led us to 38 straight wins and while we unfortunately lost one game it wasn’t because of KAT. And please notify me the next time any college team wins 38 straight. Won’t happen.
Odd, I don't recall any of them on the Raptors team 2 years ago...Nobody wins in the nba not names james, curry, Durant.
I hear ya, but if anything Butler is underrated. I used to believe the exact same thing you stated. Butler is simply a stat line filling bull.Really tired of Jimmy Butler’s act. The guy is overrated. Acts like this tough guy, competitor, winner. He got to the finals during a ******** bubble playoff season, then got crushed 4-1 by Lakers. No GM on Earth would take him over KAT.
IIRC they were a 4 or 5 seed when Butler got hurt and had to win the last game of the season against Denver to get in as the 8 seed, so they were hurt when Jimmy was out and nearly missed the playoffs@STL_Cat so you are going to conveniently forget that Jimmy Butler missed TWENTY games down the stretch (wow so tough) for the 2017-18 Timberwolves? KAT basically single handily carried that team to the playoffs in an incredibly competitive Western conference. While Butler was busy icing his hamstrings for 5 weeks, which is typical of him
I don't know, man. I guess it can always go sideways but Jimmy Butler seems to really love Bam and Herro and they seem to love him. At least they did last year.I hear ya, but if anything Butler is underrated. I used to believe the exact same thing you stated. Butler is simply a stat line filling bull.
Here is my fear for our young NBA UK boys in Bam and Herro. I truly believe they both have to walk on eggshells and play within the way Butler wants.
Sure, to the media, Butler acknowledged strong support of both. But I can tell you this, Herro has had to adjust his game and pull back a bit. I only guessing, but if Herro and Bam get too much limelight, Butler in the locker room is an intimidating force to kids 21 and 23 years old. Same with KAT.
As long as they listen and do as Jimmy says, they stay in his good graces. There’s not gonna be any push back like Rondo and KAT. Bam and Herro just don’t have it in their DNA to be outspoken against a figure like Butler. Rondo just don’t give aI don't know, man. Did KAT push back on Butler? I didn't get the idea that that's what happened. I think Butler was trying to get MORE pushback from KAT. I felt like the whole thing with Butler and KAT was Butler trying to pull something out of KAT that just isn't there. As long as they listen and do as Jimmy says, they stay in his good graces. Butler is the cool guy in the room if you just don’t go against him. It is also interesting that last season was Butler’s first conference title and Finals appearance. And it was with Herro and Bam balling out in their respective rookie and sophomore season.
Yes but if you also recall the 3-10 seeds were separated by just a few games almost all seasonIIRC they were a 4 or 5 seed when Butler got hurt and had to win the last game of the season against Denver to get in as the 8 seed, so they were hurt when Jimmy was out and nearly missed the playoffs
I believe you’re right. And perhaps if Bam and Herro don’t please Butler, then the Wolves and Bulls version of Butler will be back in affect.Did KAT push back on Butler? That’s fair. It’s not often that winning 47 games only gets you an 8 seed. The West was really tough that yearYes but if you also recall the 3-10 seeds were separated by just a few games almost all season
Yeah that year was wild. When Butler went down they were 32-26 and finished 47-35. KAT willed that team to wins against way more talented teams. While Jimmy Butler cried from the benchThat’s fair. It’s not often that winning 47 games only gets you an 8 seed. The West was really tough that year
