It was just a humorous observation but honestly I’m glad it’s working so well to help your crowd work out your childhood issues. Sorry mommy didn’t love you but if it makes you feel better to pile on me keep it coming, I’m fine. Maybe it’ll even help the balls drop.

No we aren't related to Cal. We just are realistic fans who don't have some sense of entitlement.. Youre the one who fails to see college basketball has changed. You're the one who feels UK basketball owes you a National Title every other year. You're the one who can't grasp that there isn't a better option than Cal at the present. Covid and highly rexruited freshman not being as good as advertised ruined our season. Not our coach.
Any grown adult that has dealt with real adversity will understand all that and give our coach a pass. Only self entitled, immature people who have lived a charmed life continue to *****. Cal does exactly what every other coach does, only more. As it's has always been true, assistants play a huge role in a teams success. If one person could do it all there wouldn't be others.
He nor any head coach does all of the recruiting, for instance.. Barbee was managing who to go after and Justus lead the way in contacting and building a relationship. Cal is the closer that seals the deal and of course has right of refusal on all decisions. The better the assistants sell the program the easier it is for the coach to finalize the deal. Yes he can lead, yes he has, yes he still does sometimes but not all of the time.
As the head coach he'll set the system that he wants taught as for style and expectations from players but he does not have time to do one on one instructions all of the time. A good assistant will be capable of teaching that or will be knowledgeable in a particular offense/defense style that if good enough most coaches will allow them to teach that instead.
Anyone that actually thinks he isn't a good x and o's coach also won't be capable of understanding W's and L's since they go hand in hand. I hope people don't assume he bought his way into the HOF. For a guy that has won as many if not more games than anyone in his tenure here it's honestly a bad look to try and discredit it. Next to Rupp, only Tubby was a better x and o coach at this program imo. Of course it's more than just one aspect to win like we demand.
The biggest part of his job though is being the face of the program and handling all the media obligations that go along with it. At a place like this it is that part that makes it to where very few people can handle the job. Everyone loves to ***** about how much he is paid. The University of Kentucky only pays him somewhere around a million per year, the other 8 million comes from making the likes of Nike and others that have contracts with the program happy and he by and far is one of the best at talking the talk. It's in the contract that he meet/talk/whatever with a lot of people a lot of the time.
All that said, he had ****** season last year that for a place like this is unacceptable. I know it, you know it and he knows it. Things will change (and they already are) or he will no longer lead this program.

True story: Coach Cal had mold developing in his wine cellar. My wife’s brother owns a large restoration company that operates in Ohio, Kentucky, and Indiana. The job took four hours and Cal was on his couch watching a Certain News Network (not napping) for four consecutive hours. Unreal.
You are always always trying to clown someone in threads you don’t agree with as opposed to offering a refute or rebuttal in order to have a dialogue. It kinda makes you come across as a chump. Not saying you are one, but ya know what they say... perception is reality.
The same offense that got him to 3 final fours and 1 Championship. 3 final fours and a ring outweighs 1 terrible season and a couple of elite eights by far.

It was more modern a lot of pin downs a lot of off ball screens for shooters. Guys just couldn’t shoot and some wouldn’t when they were open.

As most all head coaches do, the assistants do the initial recruiting, then the head coach comes in and closes the deal towards the end.
The part about he does not teach, or coach players is BS. Do you think he got to the top letting assistants do the coaching in practice.

I don’t care. Laughing at the fact that we will have an extremely experienced roster next year doesn’t sound like a fan. We will have multiple juniors and seniors all over the roster. That’s just the facts of the situation.
okay ... the here we go again was in reference to seeing a LOT of posts before last season about how this was one of Cal's most experienced rosters since he's been here with the additions of Mintz and Sarr and Brooks returning. I still want to see how they all play TOGETHER. Adding CJ today was a big deal. I'm not sure why you're so confident in the Georgia Tech kid, though.
Fair post. But a large part of ****** play was point guard related. If they can land a legit point guard, I really like the other pieces for next year’s team. I also like the assembled coaching staff. So that is where we are at- landing the point guard to make this go where we want it to.
When and if he enters the portal Kentucky will be on him. It’s been said on here already.
I'd say they are already recruiting so there's no rush they can do more now than when they are officially hired
