Weird, neither player was on this year’s team.

Juzang left because Cal was going to end Boston and Clarke’s generational poverty at all costs, not because he didn’t get run as a freshman.
Are you Juzangs girlfriend? Not sure how you have such insight. All we know is that he didnt like sitting the bench last year.

I’m not the one that started 10 separate Hire Pitino threads because I was so mad that Cal was being criticized on the board. It’s like you go out if your way to make ****** posts.

Can't wait to see the usuals come and defend Cal and downplay Juzang.
Nope, not me. Seeing Juzang have so much success at UCLA is infuriating to me. I love it for him, of course, but I hate it in many other ways. He should be playing for UK right now.

That situation is a prime example of the problem we've been seeing here at UK. As I've said before, and some may disagree I'm sure, it's not so much the guys who leave our program with guaranteed money waiting in the NBA that really irks me. It's the guys who leave with no real prospects or to transfer that irk me. The guys we should have had on this particular team would have been Juzang, Baker, Hagans, and Montgomery. Imagine the difference those 4 would have made on this team. I've imagined it many times.

These are the kinds of players we must retain each season. If we can retain guys like Allen, Askew, Toppin, Brooks, Ware, maybe Mintz, we won't be in full rebuild mode. We just can't keep doing that every season and expect to compete.

Not that it isn’t a significant stat, but UCLA is the only team remaining in the tournament that has played 3 games.

So? He’s still averaged over 20 per game in the tournament. I realize playing the extra game has allowed him to score more total points, but his performance has been impressive.

He left because he was homesick and wanted to go back home and play. Had nothing to do with Cal, his minutes last year, or who we had coming. But please, don't let that stop your agenda.

I would have loved to kept him, but don't make crap up. As @IL Wildcat said earlier, this team should have had Juzang, Baker, Hagans, and Montgomery. We need to keep these guys.

Actual sources from another thread on the front page

Please share, never saw those comments but I do recall reading both of these....all about homesickness and how Juzang choked up talking to Cal...how his family respected Cal and how Johnny was young.

Juzang was given multiple opportunities here at UK. Too bad he did not want to put in the work. He still can't play any defense at UCLA. The kid wants everything given to him. He quit on the team.
LOL! You serious? I've been watching UK basketball since Rupp was coaching and I don't know if i've ever seen a worse defensive player than Boston. He didn't have a clue. And he was as bad at it the last game as he was the first
