What 'behavior' is that, exactly?

Criticism? We can't do that now?
Calling a spade a spade?
Reacting negatively to Calipari's insults?
Expressing opinions on how Cal should be trying to right the ship?
Wishing he'd leave since he clearly looks like he doesn't give a shizzle anymore?

Yeah, the nerve of some fans. Our job is to sit there and mindlessly clap and cheer with frozen grins on our faces, dutifully forking over our hard-earned money so Cal can bank his $10 Mil while spending his time supporting terrorist groups.

We weren't winning jack last year.

Total headcase at PG & Cal's coaching "skills" = classic S16 or E8 exit against an underdog, like usual
Last years team was More likely to go out in the first weekend than make the final four. Biggest myth of the year with Cal talk pushing it when C19 gave him the opportunity. They were mediocre and had internal team issues (PG head case etc) not to mention Cals “coaching” ability.

Coming from the OP who said we were gonna make a run at the final four... I still wanna know how we’re lashing out like 6yr olds.

"Coming from the OP who said we were gonna make a run at the final four. " There's being positive and then there is that dream. Anyone who has watched this season and thought that this team would make a FF run needs to seek medical attention ASAP.

This fan base treated Cal like a god when he was rolling in the first half of his time at UK. We compared him to Nick Saban for whatever reason. You can’t have that sort of passion when the team is successful and then expect everybody to suddenly sit quietly by when the thing goes to crap. That’s not how it works with passionate fan bases. We are loud and reactionary and that’s what makes us great.

The quit in this fan base is embarrassing. I’d hate to see what happens in yalls real lives when adversity hits. This season sucks, get over it. Just last season we had a team that was good enough to make the final four and now one bad season and y’all think the man just completely lost his ability to put a good team on the court? Cmon now.

Also why he makes double every other coach except one. He and his agent have leveraged other supposed offers to get to this insane pay level so he should stfu about expectations.

Hell yes! These whiny quitters. I'm ashamed of them. Quitting on demanding better from a coach making more than the combined income of this whole message board! I'm appalled that many don't care enough to be upset at this level of failure! Some "fans" need to do better!!

Downhill slide since 2015, losing record to top 25, terrible style of play, weak home schedule, losing to mid-majors at Rupp, losing to rivals on a regular basis, traditions lost, closer to losing all time win record to KU, etc. it’s more than one bad year., especially considering the talent he has had to work with.

A bad season? This is shaping up to be one of the most horrific seasons in the history of UK basketball yet the coach acted like an arrogant prick to the fanbase and to one or two players in particular. You can be an arrogant prick when you produce--happens everyday in all walks of life--don't produce and justifiably the criticism is 10 fold worse--again happens everyday in all walks of life. Be an arrogant *** at work and produce your boss is gonna love you. But the minute you stop producing, suddenly the arrogant behavior is no longer quite so charming and you produce or you change or you find a new job. And yes that applies to CEOs down to the guy selling widgets.

Cal has taken the program and belittled the fanbase with his Basketball Benny, Draft night, psycho babble (on and on) comments and now expects blind loyalty? That ain't the real world. A coach who loses his humility ultimately meets an unfortunate ending. See Bob Knight compared to Dean Smith.

In the words of Cal, the fans aren't robots. They have emotion and that is a double edged sword. He doesn't get the luxury of 10 million a year and expect people to not be upset when the worst season in around 100 years happens for no reason other than an internal failure. He gets 10 million a year because he coaches at arguably the most storied program in college basketball. It is a symbiotic relationship. Without the players/wins there are no fans and without the fans there is no need for the program.

How do you figure? And what makes you so much better as a fan? There’s a solid chance we don’t win 10 games this year. Solid chance this is the worst season in 100yrs. That doesn’t bother you? Maybe you’re not the fan you think you are.

He's a Cal fan, not a UK fan. I could call him a LOSER, but that would get me banned, so I will not call him a LOSER. Cal is the LOSER.

WCS, why do you want to start an argument, when you don't know what the hell your talking about. We know you love Cal, more then UK, but that's your choice, not most of our choice. In life, there are a lot of woulda, coulda and shoulda's, and their called excuses, that LOSER's make.

That same team lost to....Evansville. Cal was the perfect coach 10 years ago, but the game has passed him by. It is time to move on. Don't call us the Gold Standard if this is acceptable to you.

Did you watch that team last season? Evansville...

Then lost an 18-point second half lead at home to a bad Tennessee team. Then turned around and got smoked for 35 minutes against a bad Florida team.

Fans that do not hold the administration responsible for success are not real fans.

This quote typifies the lunacy that is on this board daily. You have no power, no authority and no right to hold anyone accountable beyond your purchasing power. Mitch holds Cal accountable to the standard he determines and the president of UK holds Mitch accountable. You can either buy a ticket or not. Watch or not. Buy merch or not. That's it, all the bitchin and whinin on here just makes you look like spoiled children and has no benefit or positive effect.

Yes it bothers me. Do I lash out and act like I’m 6 every time something bothers me? No. Cal didn’t just forget how to coach between this season and last.
That's one theory, another one is that with out the top talent he can't win. Always easier to look like a great coach when you have superior talent.

These post calling fans who are rightfully pissed "children" kinda make me chuckle.

Cause fans could just as easily call you lazy, compliant, unsuccessful, *** kissers with your acceptance of absolute failure.

I’d hate to see what happens in yall's real lives when you fail. I'm sure you just pat yourself on the back and carry on instead of demanding more from yourself.

See, this huge thing you're missing is that the fans don't impact performance which makes your analogy as worthless as your whining.

The main problem is Kentucky is a poor state, an uneducated state and a state behind the times when it comes to racial relations. So what you get is a bunch of folks who think they're part of the basketball program, instead of fans, because they have nothing else. It's kind of sad actually.

This season sucks, and Cal hasn't done a good job at all. But at the end of the day it's one season and UK's coach has a long track record of success at the school. So what should happen, well any sane human would say he gets the opportunity to right the ship because this year is clearly an anomaly.

But he did kneel for a song in support of people of color (you know that whole freedom is expression and protest that our military fought to protect) so I'm sure that rankles a certain segment of the fan base.

My analogy is relevant as the OP was the one who made a connection between our "whining" about the team and how we react to adversity in our real lives.

And for the rest of your post, I couldn't agree anymore. Because I am upset over this season, that doesn't mean I want Cal gone. I agree, he absolutely gets another season to right the ship. I also 100% support out guys for their right to kneel during the Anthem. Your beliefs are also mine. Our military has fought so that we have the right to kneel or protest. Whenever I see someone kneeling, there's no anger. I have a feeling of proudness that we live in a country where we have the right to do such protest and I am glad our guys are exercising that right.

Last year wasn’t that bad. We may have went on a roll and we may have flamed early. We don’t know so not much point in arguing it. I think we oils have won a few games or at least not screwed the pooch due to free throws.

this year, it would have been bad enough to have a terrible season and finish a few game above 500 and chalk it up to covid. However the spectacularly poor record has been really hard to take.

To me he has had his covid year. Next year they need to right the ship and exceed exceptions or I finally join the mob. I am basing all of this on basketball.

I prefer the passionate fan who hurts with this and vents then one who rolls over and accepts it as being ok. Do some go too far? Sure, but people handle things differently.

From one end to the other there are few who can find middle ground in anything. We win and everyone thinks we are going to roll through the SEC tourney and if we lose the next game we must fire Cal. Extreme is the new norm sadly.

Yeah, I just love how posters we haven't seen in a year, come out of nowhere and critisize people that are here every day, of being over the top.

Those are usually people that are casual fans and really don't care all that much.

Look at me, Look at me, Look at me!!! Get off your moral high ground! Kentucky fans aren't going to lower their expectations for anyone and Kentucky is not the winningest tradition based on settling for less. Thanks to Cal, that soon won't be the case. If it weren't for deep Tournament runs in 2011, 2014 and a Sweet 16 in 2018, 2013 and 2016 were also mediocre for UK standards so spare me this 'It's only 1 bad season' horse ****. It's not!! An occasional 2011 or 2016 is fine once in awhile, not every other year. It's a good regular season followed by a down one every year.

I respect your view on that, but there are many others that do not agree with that, they find it dis-respectful.

I'm not sure why the poster I was responding to felt the need to bring up kneeling. It in now way was relevant to this thread. But your quote was just merely my response to him.

And for the record, I also acknowledge that the people who don't like it feel it is disrespectful. I totally respect that opinion and can see why someone may have it.
