When determining who is the better player instead of comparing stats I will often look at which I would rather have on my team. For instance if you just look at stats between Darius Miller and Archie Goodwin then Archie, on paper, would seem to be the choice but I would rather have Miller all day. If I also did that between Jackson and MKG it would be MKG.

Good call Fran”ky” as its up to #5 now:

In fact UK has the toughest schedule south of the mason dixion line as the 4 teams ahead of us are:
Nebraska
Penn St
Indiana
Northwestern

Lets Gooooooooo!!!!

Funny that the others are all Big 10 teams. I can't wait for 2/3 of the Big 10 teams to be out of the tournament by the end of the 1st weekend. I mean how many times does the NCAA selection committee have to be burned by those losers before they quit acting like they are the best league in college basketball?

Lol, per 40 Jackson literally beats him in every category except assist and 3pt%. Literally every damn one. Jackson also has higher FG% and is almost identical FT shooter. Not only would he outscore MKG per 40, he would also avg more steals and less turnovers. So, yes, as much as I loved MKG, Jackson is someone who could fill that role as far as stats are concerned. Not to mention how much more difficult it would have been to score against them with Jackson, Davis and Jones. Are you just trying to throw **** at the wall now to see what hopefully sticks?

They weren’t the incoming freshman class in the spring of 2011. It’s okay to admit you made a blunder man. It happens. You got worked up and started typing quicker than you were thinking, and that led you to make an honest mistake. It’s okay.

Yes, that team ended up very good because they were coached over the course of the season to improve. They were one of my favorites. None of that changes the fact there was no transcendent player on that team.

Being honest isn’t downplaying them. We are just pointing out the flaw in the logic that Cal requires a transcendent talent to compete. Big difference. You seem to be taking this very personally. Take a step back, collect yourself and come back better and stronger. It’s all going to be okay.

I love how your bad reading comp is my blunder but you say a blatantly incorrect thing like Jackson leads MKG in every stat except rebounds and still won’t admit you’re wrong. Per 40 is a joke as Jackson has 6 fouls per 40, so those stats are a fantasy world. If Jackson can’t stay on the floor long enough with this team, you can be sure he wouldn’t be getting MKG volumes in 2012.

I actually like Jackson so I won’t belabor the point, but some Cal first fans would compare BJ to MJ if it meant giving Cal a pass.

At this point you’re trolling me or I’m talking to an 8 year old. Godspeed bud

Yea cause the way a ball bounces on the last 2nd shot makes a huge difference

It actually does, that’s how sports work. Could haves or should haves only count to Kansas fans.

It doesn't make a season stand out as being a different level.
The only level that makes a difference is if you have a chance or not in march. We've had that 9 out of 11 seasons. Really 8 but being the good coach that cal is, he took the 2014 team and went to the final 4

Look... a bad season with Cals record prior is forgivable. But this isn't just A bad season. This is a HISTORICALLY bad season. This season makes all the other bad seasons look good in comparison. That is on Cal.

No, I don't want Cal gone. But this or anything like this cannot happen again. That means he needs to return most of this team. The thing is, I don't believe he will. And then, yeah... he can hit the road. Let him worry about draft night, and ending generational poverty, and kneeling, somewhere else. Then we can hire a coach that cares about winning at UK.

What blunder did I make? What was I wrong about?

Fouls don't honestly matter per 40. It's just a reference for the total possible production of complete-game time played. Jackson leads in almost every category.

I love how when you brought them up incorrectly they mattered, when I broke down the fact that Jackson leads in almost all of them they become fantasy now. LOL.

Also, you don't think with other strong shot-blockers like AD and Jones that, perhaps, Jackson might foul less with that team as he wouldn't be the only rim protector?

Who is claiming BJ is that great? Notice, I never stated BJ should play on that team...

But you have to consider this will historically be the worst year of most people's lives in general. I think having a bad basketball season during a global pandemic might be more easily forgiven.

The pandemic with the 99.8% survivability rate? Which is average flu rates? That pandemic? The pandemic where the vaccine is almost as fatal as the virus? That pandemic? I grant you, it's worse than WWII. And the Depression. Viet Nam... Ebola, swine flu, bird flu, etc....

Nah dude. Everybody got dealt covid. Not everybody else is having a historic bad time. Yes, some are doing poorly. But only UK is doing historically bad.

Talent isn’t measured only by league success. DLamb holds the 3 pt NCAA tourney record for Kentucky that will never be broken.

His type of talent is much more rare and useful at the college level than the verticals and athleticism that keep you in the league.
This bunch could use DLamb right now.

You said “Jackson either equals ot exceeds most of MKG stats, aside from rebounds.” By what metric is that true? Until you name it or admit to your “blunder” I don’t have time to listen to your lies.

Ohh my, you are right, Jackson does get more rebounds as well. Lol, looks like you pointed out another reason why Jackson could replace MKG. Thanks for that! 🤣
The only areas MKG can mathematically lead Jackson per 40 are in assist, FT shooting by 3% and turnovers. And leading in turnovers isn't a good thing.

Well... it's true by their stats. Per 40 Jackson averages a lot more across the board except for assist.

I am still trying to figure out if anyone can tell us who this alleged transcendent talent was on the 2010-2011 team? Anyone care to answer?
