I did, but which KY material are you talking about. The athlete or the beer guzzling lazy boy supa genius.

This is what we got. You got two choices. Support them or puss out and cry. They got better this week. That’s better than last week. You telling me you got butt hurt over someone supporting their team?

I thought you went to IM. Are you calling Kentuckians, beer guzzling lazy boy supa genius. I know your not talking about me, since I served my country with distinction as a USAF Fighter pilot, and 30 years as a commercial pilot. I guarantee you that most places in Kentucky would get your A$$ kicked for that talk. You never told me what branch of service you weren't in. True Kentuckians are winners, not losers. In my job, there was NO second best in a dog fight, and I'm to damn old to start now. I think in life, you have to decide what you like best, winning or losing. Evidently you have!

Laugh. No, I’m calling the quitters lazy boy supa geniuses. The real Kentucky fans are in the blue fog at the SEC. As far as your macho blustering, you think threatening violence is going to fix anything?

There is no one we can get that can match Cals first five years , there’s also lots of coaches that can match his accomplishments since 2015 , imo . But I haven’t given up on this team yet.

Yoshi, how about the LAST 5 YEARS!

We all know about his contract...but this is utterly unacceptable for KY basketball.

You think ‘Bama fans would put up with Saban losing to UAB and his teams looking like an unorganized mess? Of course not.
We judge others according to their our expectations, we judge ourselves by our intentions.

kyass, no one threatened you. I don't believe I would say the things to "Good Ole Boys." The way you talk tells a lot of us that your not very smart. If you think at my age, I would threaten anyone, your dumber then I thought you were. However, I would not take anything. Anyway, tired of arguing with an idiot. Could one of you geniuses tell me a better coach that is willing to come here? Can’t think of one, especially when they know they will have to put up with this *ish.

There are plenty of coaches out there who could do better than starting the season 1-4 at a program like UK. in fact, there are plenty of coaches out there at far lesser programs doing better than that now. They are doing better for several reasons:

1. They actually know how to coach
2. They recruit players that can actually shoot
3. They don't have to completely rebuild their roster after every season because they don't recruit all one and done type players.

This isn't difficult, man. Some people are sitting around wondering how Cal can fix the problems when the truth of the matter is, Cal IS the problem. Cal is the guy who recruits players that can't shoot. Cal is the guy who runs a street ball offense. Cal is the guy who can't retain players because he's been pushing them out the door since the day he has been here. Cal created this monster and now it is eating him.

Let’s remember:

We normally have two preseason exhibition games and a great deal of practice reps before the first ball is tipped. These coaches and players have had to work with a reduced practice schedule and limited games to start meshing as a team all due to COVID.

This doesn’t diminish the impact of losing 3 out of 4 games but, it may help explain why this team is struggling right now. I expect that they will improve but, Calipari really needs to get a starting five and force them to play together in practices as much as possible until they start relying on each other as teammates.

There may be a clear lack of fundamentals and perhaps this class is a bit overrated as a whole - I still trust that the coaches will get them playing together as a team and maybe turn this boat around.

Not ready to bail on this team or the coaches just yet. I have survived COVID, a tornado and losing family members this year. I will support this team and hope they can get it on the winning path - GBB!

""I told them, Adversity is going to make you tougher. It's what it is," Kentucky coach John Calipari said after the game. "This comes at you, especially at Kentucky. Losing games in a row here is like a natural disaster. And you know what? I'm not buying it, I don't listen to it, I never have. Whether we're winning games or losing games, my focus is on how do I help these guys get better?"

That's an honorable statement for a social worker making $35K a year. For a basketball coach making $10 million,...not so much.

That’s correct I don’t whine and abandon my team in public. I don’t apologize for supporting my team. I don’t bash my program when it’s down. I don’t care how many wimpy fair weather fans I piss off. I am a Kentucky fan!
Bass, over the years that I've been here I have normally agreed with a lot of your takes, but I think you're wrong here.

Are there a couple that fit the description of which you speak? Probably, but by and large most of us are as big a fan of UK as you are. I truly don't think anyone here is "bailing" on their favorite team, rather we're expressing our dissatisfaction with the COACH of our favorite team; big difference.

If most of these guys, and gals, are like myself, and I strongly believe they are, they have no plan to suddenly no longer be UK fans, far from it. No, what we're obviously trying to convey is that we've watched our beloved program become pit stop for the NBA, with guys leaving after one season, sometimes two.

There doesn't seem to be any pride taken in the program by a lot of these guys, most do appear to have one foot out the door the moment they step foot on campus. Frankly, I see nothing wrong in expecting our players to play with passion, to play for the name on the jersey, rather than trying to improve their draft stock. We aren't some run of the mill basketball program, we are KENTUCKY, and hoping to see some pride, as well as some passion and FIRE from these guys is not too much to expect, IMHO.

Cal, for whatever reason, doesn't run any type of organized offense, and it's showing. He became accustomed to out "athleting" everyone else, and that no longer works. I don't think it's a whole lot to ask to expect your basketball coach to implement a viable offense. Of course, that's difficult to do when he prioritizes athletes over guys with actual basketball skills, mainly being able to actually shoot the damn ball. We've had some very good shooters during his tenure so we know that he realizes the need, yet here we are again this season with no one who can seemingly throw it in the ocean.

Cal talks a big game, but a lot of us are at, or nearing the point, where we want to see a viable offense, guys who can shoot, and build a team with guys who aren't looking forward to the NBA the second they hit campus. And yes, I'm one of "those guys", a guy who honestly who supports his TEAM, but can, and will criticize our coach where it's deserved.

It's deserved.

Should start today. Flat out unacceptable. How do you field a team with no good shooters? All the talent we bring in but not one guy can hit a 3? How is that possible?

It's only possible when you have a coach who believes that 1997 Miami Heat "post-up-Mourning" basketball is still the acceptable paradigm.

Maybe 2 straight years of this.
Not before
2 years of what? You just started an entire sunshine pumping thread about the 9:30 0-point scoring drought today, then finished up with "this team will be just fine".

So which is it - 2 years of "this", or 2 years of "this team will be just fine"? Are you schizophrenic?

Cal isn't matching his 1st five years. Either in recruiting or FF's. In his time here, UCONN has 2 titles directly at UK's expense. Frauds in durham 2 titles. Nova 2 titles, UNC 1 title.
None of those schools, with excpetion of dook, is using this current trainwreck set up.
I don't understand why folks think UK can't find another good coach. UK has 8 titles with 5 coaches. Make the move. It's time.

Wrong. This team has actually had more practice time this season than in normal years. And, I don’t think two exhibition games against the likes of Transylvania or Campbellsvile College would’ve accomplished much. LOL.

The guy I was responding to said "Mark Few. Done." as if it was a foregone conclusion that he'd leave Gonzaga to come here. I was simply stating that he is not leaving there to come here and neither were the other coaches I listed.

Nowhere did I state that those were our only options. But since you seem to have it all figured out, who else do you have in mind?
My mistake. As far as the coaches go. Chris beard would be my first call. I also like he coach at Xavier.

Well I agree with you . I’m not happy with Cal at all . I also think his system is broken. Like I said, I believe there are lots of coaches that can do as well as he is doing . I believe there are some that could do a lot better too .

It’s this way. Cal isn’t going anywhere. Cal isn’t likely to change a damn thing. I wouldn’t call those facts, but rather high probability conjectures. Wisdom to know what you can’t change. Trashing him accomplishes nothing except maybe providing him entertainment. If you trash the program, I’m gonna push back. Just like I do a U6 fan.

Now for a fact. THIS OUR DAMN TEAM!!! This is what we got. You are either with them or against them. Discuss what they need to do to changes their fundamental skill skill. That’s what Cal is doing and apparently succeeding. Support the team or just admit you have given up on them.

This had to happen sooner or later with the ridiculous OAD theme. OAD only works if you have players like Wall, Cousins, KAT, Davis, etc. Those guys aren't out there anymore from what it seems and if they are Cal sure isn't getting them.
