When does Cal start feeling some heat?

He ain't leaving. And neither is Stevens, Donovan, Wright, Williams, or K. Who else ya got?
Yep, that's it. That's all the coaches that there are. So we fans have to sit thru this garbage because that's the only choices. Thanks for clarifying that for everyone. Suck it up folks, there is no solution to the problem. Just deal with it.

We all know about his contract...but this is utterly unacceptable for KY basketball.

You wthink ‘Bama fans would put up with Saban losing to UAB and his teams looking like an unorganized mess? Of course not.
Well I started gathering the wood about 5 years ago for the fire. Lit it up a couple of years ago, but Bass and Baller have enough wind to keep blowing it out. Not this time though, a strong headwind is coming, and it’s going to keep getting hotter the closer it gets to Lexington. Barney won’t do it, but he will get his hind end to a safe place before it hits. It’s gonna get ugly.

Not until a booster or group of boosters call up and say they have the buy out check ready. Don't see that happening yet.

The only “heat” he will feel has to come from his own pride. Mitch gave him a LIFETIME contract, which means he is here as long as he wants to be.

I am REALLY frustrated with the way he runs our program, but because of his contract, it doesn’t matter what the fans or media think or feel.

Thanks Mitch.

Good ole Mitch can the boosters come up with enough money to buy him out?

Could one of you geniuses tell me a better coach that is willing to come here? Can’t think of one, especially when they know they will have to put up with this *ish.
Cal has done wonders for the UK brand during his time here... BUT,

Cal’s ego has taken over as coach, and it sucks, in case anyone hasn’t noticed! Cal has gotten by, by being one of the greatest recruiters ever.

But the Cat (pun intended) is out of the bag now! To use one of Cal’s own quotes against him...

“We can’t hide you here!” What comes around goes around, doesn’t it Cal!

Things like that no longer matter. What was his big quote after we lost the three point streak? Just shrugged his shoulders and said "we won the game, didn't we?". Doesn't care one thing about UK tradition.
I was thinking the same thing the other day. Time for some folks to start placing an emphasis on total wins. Most one and does have no concept of our tradition and what basketball means to the Commonwealth. This ain't the EYBL or Peach Jam.

There is no one we can get that can match Cals first five years , there’s also lots of coaches that can match his accomplishments since 2015 , imo . But I haven’t given up on this team yet.

Isn’t Kansas under investigation by the NCAA? Chill. And only Kentucky and Kansas talk about wins. We have 3 times the number of championship.

I really don't give a **** what other teams do. I have noticed that a lot of fans try to make themselves feel better about losing, by putting other teams down. That's BS! If we WIN, and take care of business, we shouldn't have to worry about other teams catching us. That would be like me saying, "If we don't win, Duke is going to catch us in National Championships. In fact, since Cal has been here, I believe Duke and U Conn have more NC's then us. I'm more interested in catching UCLA.

We're fielding boys just a few months out of high school, one, our PG, who should be a senior in high school, and putting them up against teams that have experienced players who actually run an offense. You can throw out the number of stars beside each players' name, because it simply doesn't matter.

I've said it for a while now, Cal is a below average X's and O's coach. Couple that with the fact we have 18 year olds who consider this a pit stop to the NBA, and the fact that we, for whatever illogical reason, don't run any type of organized offense, and this is the end result.

Before, we were getting the cream of the crop, WITH GUYS WHO COULD AT LEAST SHOOT THE DAMN BALL; now we're not getting the elite guys, and we aren't getting anyone who can shoot worth a damn.

The system is broken. Cal is a competitor and MAYBE he will come to realize that he MUST make changes, from top to bottom, else the fans will revolt.

We don't play basketball, we play street ball, and I'm sick of it, and getting blown out, at home, is inexcusable.

Wildcat welder, the Cal suckers and ballers are going to be on your A$$ with a post like this.

jboler, we would get who we want except Coach K, Williams, or Self. If you think anyone wouldn't come here if we stack the money, your wrong. MONEY TALKS, AND BS WALKS. Only fans who think Cal can do no wrong makes statements like that.

The guy I was responding to said "Mark Few. Done." as if it was a foregone conclusion that he'd leave Gonzaga to come here. I was simply stating that he is not leaving there to come here and neither were the other coaches I listed.

Nowhere did I state that those were our only options. But since you seem to have it all figured out, who else do you have in mind?

Bass, did you go to college in Kentucky? Kentucky material is used to winning, not losing.

OLD STOLL FIELD GUY!

I did, but which KY material are you talking about. The athlete or the beer guzzling lazy boy supa genius.

This is what we got. You got two choices. Support them or puss out and cry. They got better this week. That’s better than last week. You telling me you got butt hurt over someone supporting their team?

Laughs. I hope he reams some fair weather wimpy boy ***.

responses like this is why you generally are regarded as a noise maker on here.

You try to create a narrative that isn't in line with reality.

Cal doesn't want to answer the hard questions now in a press conference, and everyone knows that there are UK fans out there right now that would love to tear into him on his call in show if they could get thru.

Reaming a disgruntled fan over a 1-4 start would be a disaster for Cal. If he does it will open the flood gates.

but you know that - saying it wouldn't accomplish your goal of irritating as many UK fans as you can on here.

worse, you have to realize that calling people out on here just motivates them that much further. If you were the UK super fan you profess to be, you'd understand antagonizing people into action doesn't help your program.

again, everyone who pays attention understands what you come here to do.

Unfortunately there are too many that don't and they continually give you run on here.

You never find out because they all leave after a year.
It's an out by default. Due to necessary rebuilding Cal starts from scratch each season. There's never an opportunity to build on what's been taught or instilled the previous year.
I don't know the stats, but when was the last time Cal had two returning starters going into a year.

That’s correct I don’t whine and abandon my team in public. I don’t apologize for supporting my team. I don’t bash my program when it’s down. I don’t care how many wimpy fair weather fans I piss off. I am a Kentucky fan!

""I told them, Adversity is going to make you tougher. It's what it is," Kentucky coach John Calipari said after the game. "This comes at you, especially at Kentucky. Losing games in a row here is like a natural disaster. And you know what? I'm not buying it, I don't listen to it, I never have. Whether we're winning games or losing games, my focus is on how do I help these guys get better? And some of them, you gotta dig your heels in or someone else plays. Dig your heels in or someone else plays. And every year, it's kind of like this." "

No Cal, its not

and you're lying trying to spin the media and the fan base.

Your problem is - we're done listening too.

He just shrugs things like that off and none of our traditions mean anything to him. We used to dominate Kansas and now we've lost 4 of 5 to them but "we're young".
