I can't remember the last time I dropped a full set of randoms...so here we go.
*Really doesn't feel like Masters week at all. For most of my life (except college golf), Masters week was the kickoff of golf season for me. It's the week where the itch to play became insatiable. The excitement of getting out of the winter and getting on the course coincided perfectly with Masters week. This year, it's the exact opposite. I may get out to play Saturday, and after that, I probably won't get out on the course again...until the next Masters. No crowds, no par 3, and a November date have definitely taken some of the joy out of the week.
*That said, best believe I'll be glued to it on Sunday. Feels like it's JT's time. His game fits Augusta well, and he's strangely never had a top 10 there. Think he's due.
*Dropped my membership at the course where I grew up.

My best friend's dad was the head pro there for 42 years, he's now pro-emeritus, and my friend's older brother succeeded him. It's the ultimate family operation, and they treat it like that. It's a great place to be. Even with my parents still living close, we just didn't get over there enough to use it. It's about 45-55 mins from the office after work, about 35 mins from the house on weekends. I pretty much only played out there during club tournaments. Couldn't play a men's league after work, couldn't get a regular weekend game. Just too much effort with two kids at home and a wife who's basically both working mom and stay-home mom at the same time right now.
*My wife and I keep telling ourselves this will be the stage of our lives where we look back one day and go...how the hell did we survive that? Wife working two part time jobs, including starting her own pediatric therapy practice. Our day care closed down. Daughter is in dance classes every week. Son is taking infant swim rescue classes so he won't drown in my parents' pool. The dog basically has the canine equivalent of Lou Gehrig's Disease, so we've been taking him to vet therapy to try to keep his strength up for as long as we can. And all that is on top of the general chaos created by a hyperactive four year old and a toddler just starting the terrible twos cooped up in a house all day.
*I think about quote I heard Conan O'Brien say when he was talking about all the **** that went down when he lost the Tonight Show. "They say what doesn't kill you, makes you stronger. But what they fail to mention is....IT ALMOST KILLS YOU."
*But we're probably better equipped to handle COVID than most, so we're thankful for that. Kids aren't school aged yet, so they can be home without hurting anything. Thanks to telehealth, my wife can do 100% of her pediatric job from home. And we can juggle babysitters and grandparents to help with the kids when she's working at the hospital. This year has sucked for us, but I feel like its sucked less for us than most. Our stress is just all of the **** we're doing on top of the COVID inconveniences.
*A little skeptical of the Isaiah Jackson hype coming out of workouts right now. I'm sure he's a legit rim protector, but I think Sarr is a much more complete package. With Cal's fixation on post players, I think he and Brooks will take the motherload of front court minutes. Jackson will get clock obviously, but the other two will be out there in crunch time. Ware, I think, will become the forgotten man in the frontcourt.
*Wish KP was still around to work with Jacob Toppin. That athleticism is no joke. Just need someone to teach him how to actually play basketball.
*Feels like Jai Lucas changed the recruiting energy around Kentucky almost overnight. Grand slam hire by Cal.
*Stoops' continued mentioning of Beau Allen is exciting. With Wilson and Gatewood both eligible, I didn't expect Allen to get a lot of attention, but he's apparently he's still impressing.
*If Joe Burrow survives the Steelers defense this weekend, then crown his ***. I can't imagine a tougher test for a rookie QB than Dupree, Heyward, and TJ Watt coming at you with a trash OL in front of you. He's been beyond impressive so far.
*That Christmas tree is very on-brand for Cincinnati. The Ki-Jana Carter of Christmas trees.
*Stay healthy, GYERO.
