I was all-in on sriracha for about 5 minutes, but always come back to Mexican peppers. I've begun using dried peppers from Flatiron. HIGHLY recommended, particularly the Hatch Valley Green, Smoke Show, and Four Pepper Blend.

Sriracha is good for mixing into homemade sauces, but I don't really put it directly on anything. Getting chili oil for Asian food was a game changer in our house. We've been balling out on some hooked up Ramen ever since. Perfected the soft boiled egg as a result (exactly 7.5 minutes in boiling water, then immediately into ice water for 3, btw).

Valentina or El Yucateco for Mexican

Tabasco for most else.

Any hot sauce is good though, IMO. Not sure I've had a bad one. Rack on the Green Dragon.

-reminds me...need to make a trip to Jungle jims soon.

-^ picked up some mustard oil last time...really works in indian/thai dishes.

-you can get pretty much anything locally in lex...but its nice to have everything in one place, not a bad way to burn an afternoon.

Underrated treat I only do once or twice a year and then think to myself “self, you should do this more often”:

Don’t stop with hot sauce. Leftover homemade chili from the night before on your eggs and some toast.

Good point. Those left over, typically hangover induced, concoctions where you're just throwing everything on one plate and cover it in cheese are so gratifying.

I've been eating a lot of knockoff brand children's cereal from Publix lately and here are my rankings:

1. Magic Stars (lucky charms)
2. Fruit Rings (fruit loops)
3. Cocoa Crunchies (cocoa puffs)
4. Cocoa Crisps (cocoa crispies)

Kroger in Lexington has Choice Ribeye Half Loins for $6.99/lb. A savings of $10/lb.

Cut Steaks --> Vaccum Seal --> Freeze --> Profit

Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk.

Who casted these women on this Nurx birth control commercial? I mean, there should be a follow up commercial with the dudes who actually hit it.

- Every hot sauce list has to begin with classic Tabasco. One of the most perfect condiments in the history of mankind.

- All of the Yucatecos might be next in line. Hard to differentiate amongst them. My favorite right now is the Caribbean - has that nice Belizean carrot addition, while still maintaining its Mexican substance.

- Don’t sleep on the Yucateco Chipotle, either. It’s on the sweet side, but killer on chorizo and egg breakfast tacos.

- Speaking of Belize, the Marie Sharp line is a gift from God. Her recipe delivers the essence of perfectly ripe orange habanero every time.

- Hat tip to the black label Valentina. Hard to believe that stuff is that cheap.

- Always keep some of Da Bomb on hand just for ratcheting up the insanity when I need to. Have one called Ground Zero currently, which is just ungodly.

- Panama has some interesting peppers and sauces. This stuff is really different; actually mustard based and reminds you more of a Carolina mustard barbecue sauce. Available on Amazon if you can’t find it locally:

This is concerning. Two of my work friends said the exact same thing over the last few days.

I went after Krazy’s first bourbon release party and it was god awful. Like day shift at a bingo parlor. Seriously made me question you bud, very sad.

On a serious Cream kick, some absolute bangers. Clapton is unreal.

Still at work. Gonna be here for at least 3 more hours after being here until about 1 last night.

If I get my spots approved, I'm gonna take tomorrow off and go hit up Belterra (River Downs) and bet on some Oaks races.

wcc, gimme a shout tomorrow if you want to be a degenerate one last time before becoming a proud Pop.

In-laws are here. The old wcc can’t come to the phone. Why? Because he’s dead!

Appreciate the offer, though.

I can’t help but get really excited when you read Brad White’s comments from practice yesterday. This defensive line should be flat out nasty. So much quality depth. Will this be the best defense ever at UK? Better than 2018?

All I can think about is this football team.

Focus on this football team, your kids and 5pm when you can crack one. All you can do these days.

Took today off. Zero plans other than getting my hair cut and and some booze for tonight and tomorrow.

Mini block party planned for Derby. Couple of friends on the street are opening their homes to whomever wants to stop in. As it's been me having the large get togethers recently, our house will be closed...other than the occasional walk for a bourbon pour.

Not sure, but dude on the end of our street may have live music on his patio. Find out later.

If you get bored tomorrow, roll on through. Should be a good time.

I really think our lines are going to overwhelm Auburn, provided our team keeps the hoax away. The wardamneagles are replacing so much on each side, got no spring practice, and have missed multiple recent practices.

Don't know how much he'll contribute this year, but it sounds like Ox is going to be unreal. Staff and players coming out with glowing reviews of his early performance and willingness to learn. In some of these camp videos, he's just mauling blue chip offensive linemen, Jager Burton included :/

Sports dad life begins for me tomorrow. First soccer practice for the toddler.

- Stand by my "quality movie" rankings from the other night, but purely from an entertainment perspective, it's Rocky IV at the top, and it's not even close. If an over-the-top, jingoistic movie full of synthesizers and workout montages isn't going to make you hype, then I got nothing for you. Have at it, Geese.

- Finally jumped on the fitness tracker train (went with a Fitbit Inspire HR), and I just have to say . . . who are these people that aren't getting 10,000 steps a day, every day?! I hit that without even trying (and the tracker is accurate, I've tested it multiple times), yet according to the Mayo Clinic the average American logs 3,000 to 4,000 steps a day. Cue PTI's rant about health in this country, but I guess we really are lazy.

- Probably the most non-GYERO man thing I'll admit here, but lass and I gave up on high end sunglasses after we kept losing them. Gas station aviators it is for this plebe.

- The Tour, EKU-Marshall (don't care, it's DI football with slightly local interests), FedEx Cup, Derby. I'll take it.

- I am absolutely cracking up at people calling in to KSR, posting on social media, etc. that they are "done with UK sports." K. Nonstop, high comedy.

- Tequila in one hand, playing fetch with the pup with the other = not a bad way to spend a breezy, late summer night in the backyard earlier this week.

- 22 days. 😎

- Friday Five:
Little River Band - Reminiscing
Us3 - Cantaloop
Smashing Pumpkins - Cherub Rock
Rod Stewart - Maggie May
YoungBloodz - Presidential

- We're getting there, gang, Slowly but surely. Chin up.

The pressure of getting schools back open is my great hope but I think we're going to see this go past the election and then to save face the lockdowns will have to be slowly stepped back because they can't admit "We reacted to a threat that was not understood and then politics got involved and it devolved into insanity."

What a shitshow. And Andy is still out there doing his press conferences to scare everyone.
