Quite a bit of revisionist history with Jordan's baseball career. Don't let the enthusiasm of his aura and The Last Dance blind you to his abilities.
He barely hit .200, his on-base % was below .300, and he hit for almost no power. Add to that he led the league in errors, and was a horrible baserunner -- getting thrown out on 18 of 48 stolen base attempts.
So he was basically the worst hitter, base runner, and fielder in the league that season. Of course you can assume he'd have been a much better player had he committed full time, but it's impossible to say to what extent. It would take a mighty gigantic leap of faith to think he'd tranform from the worst player in the league to a major leaguer simply by making it his full time job. Technically, almost anyone would be capable of being the worst player in the league.
Happy to drop a big ole [eyeroll] on this hysteria.
It’s about GD time imoThe whole deal with Frederick Douglass turning into a talent bonanza is a complete mystery to me. I'm assuming that there's something shady surrounding it but don't really care as long as UK benefits.

he may not have become a starter in the bigs, but he certainly would’ve become a role player and 4th/5th outfielder.
Yeah, but historically there haven't been very many "all stars" at either of those schools - certainly not to the degree that Clemson, Oklahoma, etc. would come calling on a regular basis. That school seems to produce 5 or 6 high D-1 prospects a year now - I can't recall that ever being the case at any Lexington school. At least not in the last 30 years or so.-they were able to cherry pick all the "top" kids from HC and Station...kind if an all star team. There may be more stuff going on as well, idk.
The entire state of Kentucky may not have produced that many D-1 players that ended up with *elite* offers. If we have something crooked going on, thank god its at a school literally down the street from Commonwealth so we can take full advantage.Yeah, but historically there haven't been very many "all stars" at either of those schools - certainly not to the degree that Clemson, Oklahoma, etc. would come calling on a regular basis. - New stadium is nice, but really missing just cutting one street over and through the hole in the fence to enjoy a cooler of ice cold domestos on the outfield deck at THE CLIFF about this time of year. What a great thing they had going there.

Tim Tebow > Jordan at age 30 in AA baseball. Is it time to debate whether Tim Tebow is the greatest athlete of all time?
I've really enjoyed the Jordan series but the longer it goes the more obvious it becomes that he was given dang near full editorial approval/override on the whole thing.
Bo Jackson never rushed for 1,000 yards in a season, which is shocking.

Will be interesting to see if FD can become a thorn in the Louisville schools side (mainly Trinity). With that much talent going up against KY schools they better start winning state titles. Seeing that those schools have recruited for years it's about time a Lexington school gets with the program and makes a run at their dominance in whatever the highest class is in KY now.
