We're seriously gonna start posting Charlie f*cking Kirk tweets in here now? I get that it's a hot time for politics and there's nothing else to talk about, but there's a political thread for a reason. Do better.
If I blurred out the name would it change the fact that a California Union was hoarding that many masks

https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.washingtonexaminer.com/news/california-union-digs-up-39-million-masks-to-sell-to-hospitals-turn-over-every-rock?_amp=true

https://www.google.com/amp/s/sacram...nds-n95-masks-healthcare-workers-covid19/amp/

a quick search on Twitter will show you which people are even mentioning it. It seems that many masks would be big deal and get some discussion going around the country. Just like the warehouse full of vents in NYC were a big deal

Go to the politard thread.

You think the union just had warehouses full of masks and crammed in every union hall?

Masks are typically in boxes of 20. Where was the SEIU storing 1.9M boxes of masks? Let’s say they got a great price for buying such a large amount and it was $5 bucks a box instead of $10.

You think they have a receipt dated February for 10M?

Go lick some high contact areas.

Dawkins comes off real well...but don't worry, Jeff Goodman wants to know how much he got paid for the documentary....The FBI comes off poorly. Creating cases versus investigating cases is a big difference. This one stinks.

I’d be surprised if anyone outside of Arizona, Louisville, LSU, the FBI, etc. comes away from that doc with a bad impression of Christian Dawkins.

Our program got fired into the sun because a package with cash addressed to an assistant coach “fell” open.

Can you imagine that today? Even Mitch would tell the NCAA to kick rocks if that’s the proof they showed up with.

Remember that time that Billy Clyde tried to keep from getting fired by just avoiding Mitch Barnhart? And ran from Alan Effing Cutler?

Thank the maker that Gillispie was so absolutely awful we could fire him after only two years.

* I didn't know that Dwane Casey sued Emery Airlines for defamation. Baller move, imo.

Almost worth the pandemic to be able to witness a 5 year old's virtual zoom bday party last night. Must have been 50 kids on it, all screaming gibberish and singing HBD while nephew's grandma was screaming HBD louder than everyone and asking why everyone was in the same room and wondering if it was safe.

This might be a dumb question on a Wednesday but how many athletic departments would go belly up if there wasn't a football season? Sure Bama, Texas and a few other elites could withstand the loss of incoming revenue, but most live off that three month run in the fall. The loss of tickets and attendance is one thing but if you rip the TV revenue umbilical chord, even for a year, would have to think you'd see detrimental effects across the country.

I mean think about the sunk cost of the coaching staffs not only in football but every Olympic sport. Almost every scholarship athlete is riding the pigskin coattails. Ancillary gigs like marketing / PR / whatever cclark does. Can't see the swimming & diving or the tennis team traveling for a meet if Sugar Daddy Football doesn't get theirs first...

...then you've got the hotels, restaurants and every other local store in college town usa that makes a bulk of their yearly sales during those 8 home weekends.

All that said I think the Universities will realize this and try their damnedest to figure out a way to at least play out the season in some limited capacity; be it pushing the season back a few weeks (who cares if it goes up to the holidays, just cut a few menial bowls), limited to no fan attendance. Something. There's too much riding on the football gravy train just to shut that spigot off completely.

Would be a damn shame if Matthew Mitchell didn’t get $1M+ per year to under achieve and dance at BBM going forward.

Given the impending financial collapse, I think it’s safe to say we won’t be seeing $20 million coaching buyouts, or $3500 Pappy Van Winkle again anytime soon. Wouldn’t want to take a long position on either of those, for damn sure.

Prices on high end bourbon haven't changed on the secondary market...yet.

It's going to be interesting to see how athletic departments negotiate with coaches on salaries. I can't imagine it's going to look good for a guy like Cal (or anyone else) to say, "yeah, you still owe me the full $10M" even though revenue fell off a cliff. There's going to be a lot of renegotiation going on.
