Where are you seeing the number tested? I'm using the TN.gov page and they say 983 tested and don't show the number of private company tests done. Kentucky meanwhile shows 1866 total tested.

I assume you're correct but I'd like to know where the total TN tests # is. Also, assuming you're correct that's still 70% more tests and roughly 550% more cases.
Correct. The numbers and testing is done differently in each state. Look at that link. They're all over the board. That's why the KY-TN difference is fun to poke at Tennessee over but I put no stock in the actual validity.

That's a great link. There's no question though that TN having 550% more cases with 70% more tests is meaningful data. It's not a complete picture but it's absolutely a significant sample size.

Can't find anything definitive but I've seen Germans are keeping their numbers low by not classifying them as covid when they have underlying issues. No clue what the standard is, do they handle flu deaths like that?

I was on a conference call last night with my Japanese colleagues and they did not understand what was going on in the US.

They closed schools, had many more people work from home but left open restaurants, bars, stores and factories and have really not shut anything else down.

But they really are not testing that much which as have been told repeatedly that is how South Korea beat it.

They are much better at wearing masks which is done all the time there but their population density is so much greater than any US city, including New York.

So having said that (Larry David voice), I am not sure what to think.

KY didn’t have access to huge amounts of tests early. I suspect that the KY numbers are about to rise.

Vandy was comparatively early in testing with their own in-house test so numbers early are going to be higher across the board. Most private hospitals had to send tests out either to the TN Dept of Health or a private lab, which was not the best turnaround (I suspect the sam

Also the fact that Saturday before last Nashville downtown was an absolute **** show normal night with people coming in from all over the country. Thousands of SECT fans and tourists all out on Broadway no doubt spiked the early numbers too.

With the classic college b-ball replays lately I’ve caught a couple of last years Duke team. What a colossal pants shitting by K, good lord. How the hell he had that team almost losing in the 2nd round and stumbling to an elight eight loss is embarrassing, absolutely stacked. Can’t imagine the horrible things Chumps would be going through if he was a Duke fan.

They barely won in the S16 too.

The 92 team was great but K let a vastly inferior Kentucky team hang with us and we needed a miracle shot to win it. Pisses me off every time I think of it.

So a polygamist gay wedding in Oklahoma is about the 14th most absurd part of Tiger King through 2 episodes.

The least surprising thing of all time, however, is that people obsessed with animals are also sex perverts

running out of PPE
This is my concern. N95 gets all the pub and rightfully but gloves and all the other PPE are the real next shoe to drop. Critical not just to the medical sector of course but to the manufacturing world which is what I deal in. My main manufacturer’s plants have still not fired up and it’s 6-8 weeks once they do for the slow boat, port, to my dock. Will take months to fill back orders and get back to normal supply chain. I’ve been on allocation with that stuff for a month and change now....gonna get real tight.

Speaking from a position of knowledge

Don't let any teacher show you their cross of gold. This presents its own challenges, but anyone with a brain realizes this is a **** show and a good faith effort is all you can do.

You know what the hardest part of any day teaching is? Managing 130 teenagers. You know what you don't have to do from your couch?

Tried to watch dodgeball last night. If we classify it as a sport, it may be the biggest gap between the enjoyment of playing and the lack of enjoyment in watching. Other contenders?

Don't know if GYERO graduated from this, but if any of you marrieds are wondering what the single life is like during quarantine, the nudes game is in its golden age. Lonely lassies with phone in hand all day looking to escape fear and sadness.

Kyrie Irving pledging $323k because he decided to do it on 3/23 is pure Kyrie. He's Ricky Williams with 12 gen ed hours at Duke.

In walks Jesus...

I appreciate the sentiment, but there was a 1,000,000% chance something like that was coming from the Sportswriting community. Let's see how that plays out when he gets laid off after no sports for 6 months.

*Have been going through the better of my bourbon bottles a bit more quickly the last week or so. Just something to look forward to at the end of the day I guess.

*My wife doing her part to help the retail economy via online shopping. her cure for boredom seems to be to continue buying stuff.

*I did agree to get a Peloton Bike bc the gyms have all closed down. This just a few weeks after I said it was absolutely the dumbest, unnecessary purchase imaginable.

*NOLA reporting one of the highest infection rates in the world on the heels of Mardi Gras. Godspeed, PTI. Also probably means the spring break shitbirds probably cost us all a few more weeks of lockdown, at minimum.

*I guess the lesson we all need to learn is to make sure if you are going to self medicate, make sure you aren't accidentally taking an industrial pool cleaning substance.

*Anybody got a good refi deal?

*Curbside beer pickup is probably something that retailers and distilleries could keep doing even post-apocalypse.

*Tried helping a neighbors kid with some math yesterday. Lulz at common core. I tried to carry the 1 on an equation and he was like "No we cant do that." For a fairly intelligent guy I stared at that stuff, completely clueless before finally giving up.

*Porchlights on for catholic_back and swimmer working in the middle of this mess.

Called our broker about a refi. Rates were up to 4%+ because of so many applications and the banks being overwhelmed. We missed the first window but he said things will settle down and there should be another opportunity where they are near bottom. Just had him add me to the list when they start dropping again.

-So S Korea resumed then canceled their basketball season. Safe to assume fall sports are not going to be immune here. Powers need to start game planning for this thing carrying out into the late summer and fall.

-Olympics moved. :(

-Good news is China has defeated Covid. All is well. Wuhan is back to normal. No new cases or deaths. K.

-Who on earth could've predicted NOLA blowing up during a pandemic? The most vile(in a good way) place in the country. Absolute worst timing for that place.

-Got a feeling we're going to be social distancing for a long time.

-Appears the talking points for each party have made their way to the targets. [sick]

-I've never used our Peleton, because I have a much more realistic indoor bike setup, but they're crushing it. What a time for those guys. In home services and subscriptions are going to save the economy.

Glad the Herald-Leader ran that article about how horny loser women are for Andy Beshear. Without that one and the one about how great it is to jerk off I don't think I could make it through this pandemic

I know things aren't so great right now, but I do want to give everyone some hope. I rolled over all of my retirement money to Vanguard about 2 months ago, and unbeknownst to me, about half of it has actually been sitting in a money market account since then. So, thru absolute dumb luck and no fault of my own, I'm actually beating the market YTD by about 20 points.

Just thought I'd share that with everyone and cheer you all up.

Executed some trades and now I'm back in 100% equities as of today. Happy Tuesday!

Been splitting my work days about 50/50 between home and office. Usually go in first thing in the morning, knock out 90% of my day then come home at lunch and spend the rest of the day doing the remaining 10%. I don’t understand the population that is quarantined and has absolutely nothing to do. Is your employer just treating this like a vacation? Sportswriters seem to be the bulk of this group. I guess they have no sports to cover and are spending their days telling everyone else to stay home and play legos. Lahteedah.

Powering thru season 4 of the simpsons with my oldest son and my daughter. They’re both completely hooked. Watch 2-3 episodes a night. So glad Donald trump gave us Disney plus right before he initiated the corona.

Been grilling a ton with my 22” Weber kettle. So far during quarantine I’ve done wings, ribs and burgers. Feel like I’m slowly working my way up to BGE status. Are those even cool anymore?

also started drinking wine. Not the real stuff, just the cheap **** from Kroger. Nice change of pace.

fellas - pop that snus
