Yeah situation changes can do that. Saying those things while being the ul coach wouldn’t have went over big with their fans. But in the end he would have screwed up here too, that hunger for sex wasn’t going to go away and the idea that he could get away with anything would have done him in and we would be the one losing a national championship.
If some people said to me what fans supposedly said to Rick at that game as he was leaving, I probably would have flipped them the bird also. He didn't flip off all of UK...just a select group fans that were really rude and obnoxious. I'm not saying what he did was right. It wasn't. But I can see why it happened. I have a temper and would probably have done the same. He's only human. He made a mistake and let his professionalism slide in that moment. I will always be grateful to him for what he did for UK when he was here.
Did you root for him at Louisville while he was providing 16 year old recruits with prostitutes? Did you root for him while he was paying recruits to try and keep up with Cal and ended up getting the 2013 Championship vacated and Louisville put on probation? Did you root for him while he was cheating on his wife and paying for an abortion? It is a pity he finally left Louisville before the NCAA vacates wins and suspends them from playing in the NCAA tournament next year.
While all of that is true, I'd argue if he had been at UK those 16 years then we'd have at least 2 more titles. Talk about even more of a dynasty.

Right but he wouldn't of had to resort to those things at UK. Kentucky sells itself. I have no doubt he would of been a womanizer but thats not against the NCAA thats against Joanne.

Walter wasn't fired because of an affair or a quickie at a restaurant. He was fired due to his sexual adventures being involved with title IX things of members of the campus. I do agree, not a good look though.

Yeah he's human but other coaches take a lot of crap too. Have you ever watched the visiting crowd when Cal gets tossed out of a game? That walk to the tunnel is brutal and I have never seen him or actually any top coach react to it even though like you said I have a temper too but we are not in their positions of representing the state's university. Coaches are held to a standard because of that representation and must show class even in those situations.

It seems most believe Pitino had morals when he was at UK, not so. I believe when he got into that cesspool at UofL it was too much to resist. Jurich and that other crook over there (forget his name) had created an atmosphere of anything goes, bending rules and draining the treasury, that was just to much for one of low moral character.

So does Cal. The really great ones don’t do it merely for the money, although the money is nice. They are fiercely competitive and they love what they do. It’s who they are.
