How about we just get through the end of the world first before we just start putting everyone on salary? K?

This is something he’s been talking about for awhile actually.

1. He says if people want to blow all their money on stupid **** like booze and drugs and not work then that’s on them.

2. It will ease the transition for people as automation takes hold. There will still be needs for things Uber drivers and now people won’t be forced to work two or three jobs to cover their basic necessities. He believes this will create new entrepreneurial opportunities for people who wouldn’t normally have the time to invest in those pursuits.

3. Eliminating the bureaucracy and waste in the system that he says costs more than the actual programs.

Buddy just text and said he's going to pickup 10 cases of cold ones.

Are we calling beer essential or will alcoholics just have to eat their hand sanitizer?

I, for one, will be day drinking this weekend. Minus whale?

I don't really respect any guy(sans sober ones) that doesn't have enough booze in stock to easily make it through a year+ lock down. If this sucker goes for 8 years like Joey and Brooks are indicating, I'll die of hunger before I go a day of sobriety. TS.

-ha. I told Mrs rudd1 to hit the barn today to make sure she had plenty to "take the edge off" for 60 days. Not a 100% altruistic recommendation, tbh.

-started a prime mini series last night: Agatha Christie's "ordeal by innocence". Promising. Really love a well done whodunit/detective program.

Either way, IMO, it’ll really be “over” in 12-18mo w/a vaccine. The “forever” talk is if it mutates to a lesser version and “chills the f—- out” to become like the common cold, so to speak, after it’s run through everyone who isn’t vaccinated.*

*Don’t know if you’re aware, but I basically just make infographics to explain how much components of buildings cost all day and where cranes can swing. So take this with a grain of salt.

Not cool to joke about this virus when some of our most beloved public figures may or may not have contracted it but just to be on the safe side are heroically and very publicly self-quarantining.

My father is pretty far right politically. He’s proposed eliminating food stamps, welfare, section 8 etc by just giving everyone 32,000 a year adjusted for inflation.
[laughing].

My crazy idea, not that anyone cares - take $100 billion yearly(which is a drop in the bucket) and split it between all the newborn children(US citizens) and put it in managed investment accounts. There are currently about 4 million per year so about 25K each. They can access it for college, house, etc. but can't touch the full thing until they are much older. Huge penalties for being a criminal.

When the Chitauri invaded NYC, the world council was able to discuss and approve a nuclear strike in response via a shadowy conference call. Why can't Congress vote on things via the web if members are on "recess" and can't fly back to DC?

You know something? You're absolutely right...nobody cares what you think.

Wife works in the pharmacy of a grocery store. She has been approved for OT.

My company is testing working from home for most people but what I do I can't work from home so I'm at work which is nice.

Just driving by Waffle House seems not to give a crap about Covid9.

Has anyone checked on the Beans? They’ve probably spent the last 3 days canceling reservations 24-7. This won’t go well for them.

Lol, I'm actually *very* curious how they are spending their nights these days. I'm guessing Mike has one of the biggest non-commercial stocks of Bud Light in the state by now.

- All hospitals are preparing for the worst. They have to. ICU beds, vents, PPE, drugs, supply rationing, emergency personnel, etc.

Public perception at this point of "worse case scenario;" however unlikely, cannot be ignored. Some crazy localized outbreak occurs and if it looks like a place was ill-prepared...won't be a good look. Of course, the joke is that no one is actually prepared.

Panic is really kinda setting in in major cities. Lotta otherwise normal people are freaking the f*** out.

- Lot of folks down here very heavily leveraged in the airbnb/STR game. Going to be a rough summer here for a lot of friends.

The proposal is $1,000 a month per adult and $500 for each child for everyone making less than $65K a year (70%of the country) to keep from going under.
So everyone in Gyero gets $0

Tuesday societal collapse randoms:

- I have about 4 months of booze. Need to grab a couple of Turkey handles.

- pantry is well supplied, have approximately 1000lbs of beef at the farm, mason jar full of good... bring whatever, I guess

- I work from home so not much different except having a 4 year old sidekick controlling the music/television

- hot dog and glass of water for lunch, bun was kinda stale

- just convinced 20 Proof to watch Space Jam, this is a win

- had $20k in Air bnb cancellations since Thursday [sick]

- thank goodness I shut down the Contracting company, can't imagine wrangling that herd of yahoos through this

- the worst part of the lockdown is the ****** weather. I'd love to get out in the woods and do some isolating

- be safe everybody

I hate talking about my personal life on here but I recently became a 50% owner of a small business on January 1st. We have 29 staff and having to tell everyone the news that we have basically been shut down indefinitely as of today by the governor and the board of our profession was a hard talk. My wife is in the same boat with 12 staff. My staff has some single mothers and people living check to check so lots of panic and tears. The governor of Ohio passed an emergency mandate where everyone can get unemployment for basically 2/3s of their pay (in my employees pay scale) with no waiting period, but we’ll see how efficient and smooth that goes (SPOILER: It won’t). Unfortunately the indefinitely timeframe is the hardest. If it’s 8 weeks then shew - things are going to get very stressful and dicey. Scotch is being consumed nightly.

My brother is a physician - and unlike the jokers posting in this thread (HAR HAR! We like to have fun around here right guys?!) he’s in the specialty that is actually treating those patients with COVID. He’s at the UT hospital in Knoxville and has treated several patients already. He basically told me it’s very treatable but requires the capacity to do it. We’ll know in the next two weeks but anybody acting like they have a clue don’t. He says they have mobilized and are gearing up as much as possible and is optimistic it’ll be fine by June.

On a positive note I got in the last day my hairdresser was open, so at least I look fresh and I had some nice titties in my face for 30 mins. It’s the small things folks

Looks like $100k is what Hawley is proposing. My guess is they go with higher number. Probably $1k per household. Most people end up with $1500-2000

-Home office for a while. Got a nice set-up in the unfinished part of my basement that my 14 year old son is using for his T-shirt business. I shut the door and there are no windows and the next thing you know you've been there for 3 hours. I actually kind of like it.

-Keep holding my breath that Ford, GM, Toyota and Nissan keep running. We are going along until they stop. But I see it coming soon.

-I am trying to show my kids some 80's movies that I have not seen in a while. Already watched Back to the Future. Gonna try to get in Karate Kid, Gremlins, Goonies and Adventures in Babysitting. Wife vetoed Vacation and Fast Times at Ridgemont High.Odds are that BBdk has not seen any of these movies.

-The forecast keeps showing that it is going to warm up but it seems that the actual temp is about 10 degrees below what they are forecasting.

-I'm positive my kids do more work on NTI than they do in person. That **** has to stop.

-Not cutting hair or shaving until this is over. I mean why not?
