It's ok to say that because it's not racial....amirite....[winking]By the way, most women would consider being called a 'stupid *****' very hurtful. Maybe you aren't best one to be passing judgement.
I'd really like to hear a black poster's perspective of what he/she would want to see done to this woman if he/she was the one whom this insult was directed toward.
Does calling her a "stupid *****" fall under that? Asking for a friendIt’s amazing that in 2020 people STILL don’t know what freedom of speech means.
I've been on both sides of the fence on this, sort of anyway, I assumed, you didn't like my statements on her either.
Does calling her a "stupid *****" fall under that? Asking for a friend
Need? No.You need a black person’s opinion on this?
I wish you'd just say whats really on your mind. You're beating around the bush. Just say it, you won't hurt my feelings.
I'd really like to hear a black poster's perspective of what he/she would want to see done to this woman if he/she was the one whom this insult was directed toward.
Clever! Not asking on judgement of whether or not the term is offensive. Think we are all crystal clear there. I'm asking what they think is the appropriate response based on the hurtfulness of the term. And the apology issued.I feel like black folks have been pretty clear where they stand on this issue for a couple hundred years.
I know you didn't, but you seem ok with her being called that. I think what she said was disgusting and she told on herself when she said it.For what it’s worth, I didn’t call her a stupid *****.
But sure. The guy who did won’t be arrested or silenced by the government for exercising his freedom of speech.
Very well said!I know you didn't, but you seem ok with her being called that. I think what she said was disgusting and she told on herself when she said it.
But a degrading remark like that toward her also revealed what kind of person the poster is that said it. Both are disgusting and reveal a person's inner feelings about a person or a gender.
I'm sure you'd be fine if someone called your daughter/wife/etc that. No biggie right?
I am totally for what UK did, and against her actions. 100%. I'm just not for calling her names that are degrading as well. There is no defense for a racist or a sexist. None.
Is someone defending her saying that? I honestly hope not. Just as I'm sure nobody would defend someone calling her a "stupid *****".I feel like black folks have been pretty clear where they stand on this issue for a couple hundred years.

Yes, we're the problem, not the woman who felt the need to drop a racist vile term. Not only that, she was repping BBN while doing it giving us a bad name and a ton of bad press for the program. Her apology. Sounds heartfelt. You guys are over the top
My reaction after the game was unacceptable, period," she told the television station. "It was against all values of the university and state of Kentucky. I humbly apologize to the individuals at which my words were directed. My words were hurtful and hateful and have no place in this world. I apologize to the university and state of Kentucky for the embarrassment I have caused. I want my apology not just to be in words, but in actions moving forward."
I've been "friends" with 2 Bucs: Al Oliver + Rocky Nelson. It was a hard call ! I may rotate: Parker, Stargell, Moreno, Tekulve, Garner, Ott, Bobby, Candy man, Milner, Sanguin, etc..... Probably roll with The Cobra for a while.
He's a troll. Why do you keep trying to justify this stupid bitches behavior. I have no problem calling her that.
She's embarrased BBN. Good riddance pos.
I've been "friends" with 2 Bucs: Al Oliver + Rocky Nelson.
...Both were from Portsmouth, Ohio
...Both were on Title teams (Al 1971...Rocky 1960)
Played golf with Rocky (and his brother Al).
Played off-season basketball with Al at the Y.
I wonder how many of you folks trying to justify and minimize her action have.I wonder how many of those hating on this woman have used racial slurs in the past. I bet its a lot.
Racist remarks are protected speech. If a student at UK did this they couldn't do anything to them. They barely do anything to a player but this fan is permanently banned? For what it’s worth, I didn’t call her a stupid *****.
But sure. The guy who did won’t be arrested or silenced by the government for exercising his freedom of speech.

Good grief, I don’t have a narrative. I don’t have any skin in the game. The stuff she felt comfortable enough to yell in a public venue tells me what I need to know about this woman’s character. Do I want her life ruined? No way. Do I want her to go to jail? Of course not. Free speech and all. I’m comfortable enough to call her a POS though.
Are you referring to me? Is this really how you would summarize the points made last night?
In my decade plus on catspause, I don't know if I've ever come across such an obtuse mischaracterization of a recent conversation as what you have posted here.
I don't like what the woman said, but you can find someone else to debate how evil she is (or is not). How racist is she? I dunno. Probably at least somewhat, but that's subjective, and the subjective is boring to me. Your guess is as good as mine.
I'm not like most "people people" in the sense that I am much more interested in what is possible: what is likely to occur, what is unlikely to occur, and the relative probabilities of all of those outcomes. The legal precedent thus far established is just one important component in determining those probabilities.
UK did what most institutions would do from a PR standpoint, and their decision will almost certainly go unchallenged for the reasons I laid out previously. This is exactly what I predicted would happen.
100% of my points centered around legal nuances that will likely never play out (as I discussed in excrutiating depth) and an array of physiological possibilities that still don't necessarily satisfy Ockham's razor (as I discussed in even greater depth).
If you want to call me out, then do it properly. Here is my screen name. I'm always here for you.
I won't lie. I certainly have when I was much younger. I didnt use it as a broad brush, I used it just like I did "white trash" or redneck with sorry white people. Once I moved to the deep south I understood the problem with the word and haven't used it since. I was never racist, I simply dont like trashy, sorry people. Skin color doesn't change that.I wonder how many of you folks trying to justify and minimize her action have.
Can't speak for black people.I'd really like to hear a black poster's perspective of what he/she would want to see done to this woman if he/she was the one whom this insult was directed toward.
Lol, Gonzo and I have a long relationship here. You got your panties in a sideways bunch. If you're going to post here it's best you learn who is who, what kind of people they are and thicken your thin skin. Have a great evening.Well, I'm a grown woman and am not afraid of you and your lifetime of posts. You sound exactly like that little boy who keeps saying "say it, it's okay...dare ya" only to tattle immediately afterward. If you're too dense to get it by now, then maybe you should take a step back, think about why you're so defensive of her and stop trolling him?
Maybe you can tattle on me and get me banned and prove how easily your feelings can be hurt?
Respond if you wish, I will not acknowledge it...Men like you aren't worth a thought or any further keystrokes. Have a nice life.
The black fist...it's racist...find another avatar please. The entire situation. But for some reason it needed 10 pages of "yeah but" on Catpaw.

Your reading and comprehension skills are on par with your view of women I see.Talk to me directly then. You are painting me as a sexist. Taking the heat off her being a racist. I see you lol.
Nobody should defend her period. But according to you I'm on her level. Which is laughable. Good deflection attempt though.
And you may be right about that but you don't know for sure. We do know she has had recent trauma in her life so it is entirely possible after calming down that she reflected on the bigger picture in life and then what she did and how she was wrong. Why is it better to assume the worst?Well, you know, anyone can craft a heartfelt-sounding apology the next day when you've got people helping you craft it and you know doing so is what you need to do to try to get your *** out of the fire.
But those sort of planned statements are not the ones where people reveal how they really think.
I agree with this. It came out because it was in there. I have no problem with how UK handled this. She only apologized because she got caught.
This isn't calling someone an a-hole, d-bag, etc. This is someone calling a person of color the n-word. People who aren't racist don't have that word ready on the tip of their tongue at a moment's notice, so she's used to freely using that word behind closed doors in private.
So she's a racist and got caught, and now punished. There's no use for anyone using that word.
And you may be right about that but you don't know for sure. We do know she has had recent trauma in her life so it is entirely possible after calming down that she reflected on the bigger picture in life and then what she did and how she was wrong. Why is it better to assume the worst?
That's fair. Maybe 20 of the 35 are on this topic but it is just because I really believe people are going too far...I got interested when they were calling for her job last night. I don't have any personal connection with the offender...I just have a real problem with cancel culture.I must say you have an interesting profile, actionjaksen.
You've been registered for 18 years, yet have only 35 posts, virtually ALL of which have come today in posts defending this woman.
Gee, you wouldn't have a personal connection, would ya?
Your reading and comprehension skills are on par with your view of women I see.
I never defended her one time. Show me proof where I did. If you think calling her the name you did is acceptable. You are exactly the same as her. You just hink it's ok because she's a woman and not a person color. If you can't see that your problem is as bad or worse than hers. Justify yourself all you want.
Is that direct enough for you?
