He's good, but I agree if people think he's overhyped when the term "great" or "Best PG in country" is used. You can't be as careless with the basketball as he is. He's a vastly overrated on ball defender but in same token is really outstanding as an off ball defender. He is the barometer for this team and that scares the crap out of me as a viewer because I don't trust anything he will do. FT percentage is about 80% but late in game, I have 0 confidence. Decision making. Control. Leadership. Just this of this last week. While everyone rightfully praised his deflection to end Texas Tech game, they omit the crazy 1 on 4 drive with Cats up 4 in OT and 2+ to go. That's inexcusable. The Vandy game was poor. He was abused by Saben Lee and removed off him in place of Maxey. Today was his worst game since Evansville. He was killing the team when on the court. Not hurting--killing them. From TO's, to thinking he had to score every trip he had the ball, to losing the lead on that 3 that Okoro tied game on in zone, etc....
This team goes how Hagans goes and while Maxey/Quickley tried to bail them out...Hagans set the tone. Better wake up quick because Mississippi State is coming in winners of 4/5 straight and has matchups that make that a tough game Tuesday.
