Never been much of a water person. Got a pool when I was little. We used it alot for many, many years, but got burned out on it.

That's a legit tearjerker for me. Not because I felt close to Kobe, but him talking about procrastinating reminds me of the relationship between my father and I.
I was always going to call "next weekend" only to get a call one night that he's been in an accident and he's gone.

I feel like every guy over the age of 30 or so can relate A LITTLE TOO WELL about the Shaq losing touch with Kobe angle.

Yup.
The Diesel is underratedly awesome. The guy buys semi trucks of toys for poor kids at Christmas, volunteers with police, and is just an all around great guy. We should appreciate that more.
(Also, Shaq as an undercover detective remains hilarious.)
I’ll be honest, Kobe’s death is sort of messing with me. You feel like you know the guy, he’s in your generation, and he always seemed kind of invincible. To be gone just like that just feels weird. And incredibly sad.
I watched his last game last night on ESPN. Great job by them on that btw. But damn, that was joyous when it happened four years ago, but now feels something similar to Gehrig’s “luckiest man” speech.

Went skiing once somewhere in Colorado back in the mid 80’s. Not sure where because alcohol, cocaine, Thai stick and quaaludes tend to make you not care or remember when combined often. Figured since I could water ski and ice skate I’d pass on beginner slopes and go big. After several near misses on trees and other weird objects I slowly descended to the bottom. Spent the rest of the time indulging with the snow bunnies at various bars and lodges. Out of 7 of us I was the only one without any injuries or broken bones. Was sore from falling but didn’t even realize that until I sobered up 3 days later. Pretty sure they told me where we went but I had a bad habit of waking up in different unknown locations a lot in those days.
Man, you can really tell how much regret Shaq has. That really hit home with me. I lost my brother in August and I’ve been carrying quite of bit of regret since and it sucks.

Shaq is a great person. Grew up in a no nonsense military family.
What stinks, (like most of us) is entering late 40s and 50s we all have to experience the death of people. We see our own mortality when chairs are pulled out from under us.
We allow superstar entertainers and athletes into our realm and feel real loss when they die. When young ones are cut short, understandably - it stings even harder.
I feel as bad for Shaq as I do for Kobe, only because to me they are inseparable.

That reminds me of when I was at UK and got lotto row A behind the UK bench and some dudes, who happened to go to grade school with me, came to the game wasted and were heckling JP Blevins. When JP got up to check in the first time one of them yelled "JP! GO IN THERE AND SHOOT A THREE!" Tubby turned to the who student section and gave us one if those Tubby Death stares.

Yep. Been thinking about that a lot in the last few years. Never considered it a sucky part about getting older. I was fortunate enough to live without death hitting close to home for awhile. Lost my grandma two weeks ago. Have lost an uncle. Have had good buddies lose parents.

Lost my Dad several years ago. We had a rough relationship to say the least. Losing Mom brought us closer to together and we patched up our issues and when I knew he was going to pass I did not have one regret. If you are in a similar spot with a loved one get it resolved now. Do not think tomorrow is always going to come.
-Regret should make you a better person. Losing someone close is impossible to get over but you can't let that stuff consume you.
-I'm worried we lose one of the Montgomery/Quickley duo. Saw Quickley pop up on a top 100 list last week. 3&D guy, mature body, mature character I can see how he'd be ready to start his career. Really want him back but I'm worried. Get them both back and look out.
-Cal needs to find a way to get Greg Brown.
-Two things that annoy the **** out of me -> UK fans claiming conspiracy on recruiting rankings and people saying "millennials."
*UGA at 11-9 isn't making it.
*UNC has a ton of work to do.
*Wiseman already gone and Memphis reeling.
*Washington is 12-9 and in last place in the PAC12.
*Hampton/Ball both overseas.
*Iowa St isn't making it.

My 11 and 12 yo worship Peppa. They will still occasionally watch episodes, in between Bloons TD6 videos on YouTube. Fortnite seems to be on the way out.

My 14 yo LOVES The Simpsons and The Office. He’s seen every single episode of The Office. Huge hit among his age group.
