They just have no talent just ask Roy!!

I saw a stat on ESPN, in between the Zion segments, where they showed Roy's top 6 or 7 worst seasons from a winning percentage standpoint. All but 1 has been at UNC and 3 of them were in the last 6 years. Maybe Ole Roy's time is done.

Kind of expected ole Roy to pull the old "My back, my back!" drop to the ground and sit out the season, like K.

Just shows how much farther ahead Cal is in regards to other coaches about managing the OAD. Not even close. Roy has to have 3/4 year players for his system to work. Last year he lost some OAD for the first time.

Also, I want to credit karma. I said that karma would bite them for the cheating for which they escaped. Can’t escape losing games. Makes me smile.

According to their fans this is all the fault of the NCAA for investigating them and hurting their recruiting when they had done no wrong. :joy::joy:

Do they understand that tanking in college basketball gets you nowhere. I mean they are UNC they are not capable of this devastation.

No haven't forgotten but BCG isn't Roy Williams.

They are 8-10 with a HOF coach. That is kind of my point.

Could you imagine having Cal and being 8-10 with no end in sight?
We went 13-19 with a HOF coach back in 1988-89 with losses to Northwestern State and Bowling Green and lost to Indiana by 23, Duke by 25 and UL by 22. It was worse than UNC imo because we knew we were going to get hit hard by the NCAA. We went 5-12 in our last 17 games.

True, but Pitino wasn't a HOF'er at that point and I was 9 years old :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye: so fortunately I didn't have to sit through it! Sorry you did...must have been awful but he turned it quickly, that's for sure!

Sutton was the HOF'er I was talking about.

I don't think the younger crowd will truly understand what it was like being a UK fan for those 3 years (88-89, 89-90, 90-91)

88-89: 13-19 and waiting for the hammer to hit
89-90: No live TV or postseason (SEC Tournament and NCAA)
90-91: No postseason (SEC Tournament and NCAA)

Ah, sorry I though you were reffering to RP first season, but he was .500 right?

Nope, I definitely do not. I've read a lot about it. I remember staying up late to watch them on tape delay as a kid but I really became a fan in 91-92.

In fact the first game I vividly remember was vs. UMass and Cal Sweet 16.

After Laettner game I became obsessed and that summer went to RP Father Son camp with my dad.

The rest is history...

I won't trust that UNC will miss the tournament until they have 14 or more losses. I could totally see the NCAA giving them as much leeway as possible.

I could see Anthony come back and UNC win a few games, maybe even look greatly improved. ESPN will start in with "UNC is overcoming injuries and the loss of an AA candidate"..."UNC is a bubble team trending in the right direction"...next thing you know, they are in the tournament with a 17-15 record as a 10 seed.

Maybe, I don't think so though. With Anthony they would not have lost several of these games. He also just won a title 3 seasons ago and has a huge class coming in next year.

This has 2019 written all over it. The NCAA won't count the losses that occur when Duke plays UNC, because they will use Anthony as a scapegoat. Just like they did with Zion.

They will say "Well, UNC may have lost, but Anthony wasn't back yet/wasn't in game shape".

They basically took the 3 UNC/Duke games last year, and declared both teams the winner. That's how they viewed it. When Duke lost, it was because they didn't have Zion. Yet, it was still a monumental win for UNC. It can't be both ways. But the NCAA made it so.

They lost to Va. Tech in double overtime. Now 8-10 on the season. First time in their history they’ve dropped 6 straight ACC games.

I have to say, there hasn’t been a more fun train-wreck in college basketball history that I’ve been alive for that I’ve enjoyed watching more than this UNC team.

With that said, are there any other train wrecks you’ve enjoyed watching as much or more? Obviously many Indiana teams are up there as well. This UNC team just feels different after their preseason hype.

Too much class room time.

This may be one of the most accurate statements ever made on each level regarding that program and today’s culture.
Being old school my mind went to this! Let me take you down 'Cause I am going to Strawberry Fields Nothing is real And nothing to get hung about Strawberry Fields Forever. I bet a lot of UNC fans are hoping they are having a bad dream! They gotta feel like the movie Groundhog Day another day another loss. It just is the same thing! I loved Bill but I hated the Groudhog movie!!

Man - what a painful reminder - which makes me all the more pissed that they skated with their cheating and all the more enjoy these losses for them. Couldn't happen to a more deserving Coach, institution, fanbase and team. L.L.L.L.L.L. and counting.

I hope they lose every game for the rest of time. I don't feel sorry at all for Roy or any of the players that decided to go there. They were aware of the academic scandal. Hell, I wouldn't be surprised if they were still promised, and given, fake classes. That program can fall to DII for all I care. Or even better, cease to exist.

They got a 2 seed with 10 losses a couple of years ago. A 17-15 record will probably get them a 4 seed from the inept committee. :joy:

I love this stat:

Points for - 70.1 (215th)

Points against - 71.1 (231st)

That has to sting as much as the 8-10 record.

Well if Anthony comes back and they win every game from that point including say wins over U6 and Duke, then maybe there’s an argument.

But if they can do that, why can’t they just go ahead and win the ACC tourney and remove all doubt.

Don’t think either will happen.

hope they lose every game from here to eternity.....and I'm serious. Can't stand that pos cheating program. Irrational admittedly
Not irrational at all. I feel the same. UNC*** can continually and endlessly fornicate themselves with a hot, steel pike.

They will get preferential treatment regarding getting in the Dance.

They have 8 wins now...

8 more and they will be cuttin the rug...

Agreed. That was what I was trying to say.

I mean I’m not really a Brady fan at all but seeing people trying to clown on him after losing in the playoffs this year just seemed silly as he has 6 super bowl rings. SIX, and is still easily a top 3-5 QB in the NFL at like 42 years old.

They have 6 rings and 9 Super Bowl appearances in 20 years. That's pretty dominant.
