Ol' Zipp tearing him a new one, which is rare since he usually only tears into minors...

Well, Cal is 11-2 against the Crows, not running sets.

I’m just glad our ownership of them held. I think when it’s all said and done this will be Cal’s 2nd worse team here. And this is probably one of UL’s best during that time. If they couldn’t get us this year...well, it might be a while. They lose a lot off this team. On paper we should be better next year. And then the year after they gotta come back to Rupp.

Yeah. We will work on it.

Still beat that butt. Dude is a sore *** loser with that quote. Both teams played their guts out and THAT’S what he says?
I’ll say this as respectfully as I can....”Screw you Mack”
What about his quote is a sign of being a sore loser?

Hey Coach Mack, Coach Cal is 2-0 against you without running a set offense and letting his players go home for Christmas while you practice EVER DAY leading up to this game!!!!

Well, the year they won the NC, and we went to the NIT, they only beat us on a prayer at the buzzer, and that was in the Yum.

I don't know what he said that isn't true.
We don't run a lot of sets, do we?
I honestly think many get more enjoyment out of complaining about something than the big win itself.

Just thought it was interesting that he said, "I'm gonna say this respectful" "They don't run many sets in offense". I thought that was a telling quote considering several on here say just that.
So he was saying he got out coached by a coach that runs no plays?

I didn't hear Mack saying this, so you would have to help me as to whether you thought it was a dig at Calipari or a frustrated complaint about his defense.

But, I believe that the fans on here who generally complain about Calipari's offense don't understand offensive concepts used by Div. I and NBA coaches. I think they think of offense in terms of the movie Hoosiers - e.g. set plays, picks ("the picket fence") - basically the stuff we learned about offense and played in elementary school and high school.

When they hear Mack say that UK doesn't run a lot of sets, I believe they think he means set plays. That's not what he's talking about when he says "sets". Those considered the best coaches in the world may often only run one set (e.g., 4-out-1-in set). Their offenses are built on executing simple principles really well.
