I can deal with that. Hell, Duke lost to a worse team this year. Embarrassing yes, but don’t make it worse. You may have missed it but we lost to Evansville as the #1 team in the country.
Just make the NCAA and get on to next season.

You seem to be hoping.

THE REFS ARE THE REFS. They're not changing. We won 8 titles and went to 17 final fours and the refs didn't stop us. F*ck the refs. Get **** right.I think our team can be good, maybe even great, but how can you expect to get into any type of rhythm when you are constantly whistled?
If 2019 Cal was coaching 1996 UK, he'd probably lose to Wake Forest in Elite Eight and then convince Anderson and Mercer to declare for the draftRemember when UK went title-runner up- title with pretty much 3 separate teams and 2 coaches from 96-98 when CBB has as much talent as ever.
That was fun
Verne Harris is the absolute worst. Actually thought Shows tried to throw-in a couple make-up calls to cover for the other two.
So then you beat them by 20 points and the sh*tty refs help them cut it to just 12. Or you pound Evansville and Utah by 40 points like you should and then this is our first loss after being #1 for a month. The point is the refs can swing a game once or twice a year or make life harder, but if you're dragging your nuts the way Kentucky should be then they aren't stopping you. The refs aren't the problem. They weren't the problem when we had Wall, Cousins, Davis, KAT, Knight, Lamb, etc. etc. and they're not the problem now.Refs are refs, but honestly they have as much to do with the loss as Ohio St. How many 4-5 point swings were there?
For the 1-2 justified ones, there were 3-4 that were laughable. We had 6 fouls with 16 minutes left in the first half, and 6 fouls with 13 left in the 2nd.
Whitney is a decent and capable shooter, plays decent defense, is a very strong weakside player, and rebounds ok enough that we could go with only one of Nick/EJ on the floor at a time.
-Letting Whitney on the court is a travesty in and of itself, much less starting him alongside EJ and Nick. That's a waste of production.
-We have to commit to playing a style maximizing 3 guards + a stretch 4. The bench guys come in and fit in as best as they can. We hope our top 6 players can provide 2012 type minutes.
Just like I felt that Sestina’s shot would come around. I think with real minutes and a defined role, Juzang will eventually find his shot. In fact, it’s really important that he does so you almost just have to put him out there warts and all and hope.[thumb2]
It really isn't that hard. Start Hagans, Maxey, Quickley, Sestina, and Richards. Brooks backs-up Sestina. Montgomery backs-up Richards and they each play about 25 minutes a game. Let Whitney, I guess, fill in where he can. In retrospect we probably should have redshirted Juzang but everyone (me included) would be pissed if we shot so horribly from the perimeter and our supposed sharpshooter was sitting on the bench.
That will never happen because it would destroy the draft stock of Montgomery and (to a lesser extent) Whitney. Gotta do what's best for the kids, not the program!
