Does anybody else see alot of Keion Brooks in his game? Just watching highlights they look very similar.
He’s a shot blocker!Does anybody else see alot of Keion Brooks in his game? Just watching highlights they look very similar.
Looks like UK. UK will be the #1 class per Rivals and doubly so per 247.
If we land Jackson ESPN will have to look biased as hell to maneuver Puke to #1.Hold on! ESPN, Quick! Shuffle some Duke and Kentucky players round to keep Duke #1..
Even better. I like Sisk. He never picked UK for Cade Cunningham, like EVERYBODY else, and said it was because he knew Oklahoma State people who told him CC was going there.Bossi put in a future cast for UK as well.
Yep if we can get another 5 star today on the heels of 5 star Askew reclassifying this week to UK it would definitely ease some of the pain following the egg laying Tuesday night.Looking good for us with all the recent movement...needed this after that Evansville loss.

You’re right, 2020 collectively is more talented, but 2019 still had a very solid top-10 to 15; I’m not sure I would put Isaiah above any of those guys, but I still really like his game—unlike several others who are a bit turned off by his offensive skills which are not as polished as some other guys.
If anything, he reminds me a lot of Keion Brooks and I would absolutely take another guy like that or in a similar mold. As talented as our backcourt will be and with the scoring prowess of our wings next year, Isaiah would be a nice athletic piece to help keep spacing on the floor and for defensive purposes.
Also, some new highlights from Fall League this year. If we do indeed sign him, then I will really look forward to watching him grow. Hopefully, this will give him more of an opportunity and role to expand his game now that LaMelo moved on to the NBL.
You’re right, he did turn a few heads and there was a lot of optimism about his growth. However, he didn’t quite make the jump this past spring/summer like people had hoped, specifically his offense. This is what caused him to slide in some rankings and the reason there are a couple of services that do not have him listed as a five-star, or at least on the fringe of it.
And I would still say he is similar to Keion, like I said. Shot-blocking, rebounding, running the floor and helping with his length in space—this is Keion’s role this year and Isaiah’s would be very similar if not the same. Also, if Isaiah can out jump Keion, that would be impressive; Keion has the highest vertical on this year’s team. For some reason there are some people who have this narrative that Keion isn’t overly athletic, but I think we have seen some instances in the first couple games that really challenges that.
Also, something to watch for: Rocket Watts apparently was quite the headache for Michigan State to deal with in terms of eligibility. Apparently, this could be similar for Isaiah, which supposedly was the reason Michigan State stopped recruiting him. I don’t know the depth of it, but it allegedly has to do with Spire Academy; it seems there might be some more work that has to be done in terms of academics. But, if it was something too serious, I imagine UK would have stopped recruiting him, too.

Omoruyi may be the least popular of the bigs but he's long and tall and can protect the rim. Wouldn't bother me a bit if we got him.Really like Jackson's game. Hope we land him today and a couple more bigs in the spring. Preferably Kuminga and Brown or Kuminga and Omoruyi.

I think Banchero and Jackson had better bpg numbers in the EYBL.Omoruyi may be the least popular of the bigs but he's long and tall and can protect the rim. Wouldn't bother me a bit if we got him.
Sure. We need to make sure he knows no matter how well he plays he has to stay 3 or 4 years. We can't have players playing well enough to go pro after one or two years. I wonder if Cal has told him already that if he comes to UK he has to commit to staying at least 3 years so please play bad for the first two years so the pros will not be interested.if we get him , I hope he understands he's most likely a 3 year guy. and I hope we dont need to rely on him in year 1.

It takes longer than a year to go from raw offensively as he is to being a 1st rounder. there is a reason he's ranked in the 50's.
In the 50s? he’s ranked number 26 on sports 247 and a five star
Omoruyi is in the 50's on rivals and in the 40's on 247

My bad; thought it was Jackson

Nah I was always skeptical on that one just hoped like everyone elseDid you bite on Cade Cunningham?
Nobody knows what teenagers will do. They change their minds. They have minimal experience making important decisions. We will know when he signs the papers. Until then, there actually is not a true need to know.
How many Anthony Davis level recruits have you seen since him? That's a very high bar to have for recruits.
Thinking like this just drives me crazy. What do you know about the kid? Have you seen him play in person? So you think, unless hes the next Antony Davis, Cal and UK shouldn't bother? Wow!
Banchero also led the EYBL in rebounding as a rising junior. He can do it all. If he indeed stays in 2021 he'd be at the top of my wish list.I think Banchero and Jackson had better bpg numbers in the EYBL.
I stick by my statement. Unless Cal has an AD level player, his ceiling is the final four and most likely flameout to a lesser team.
Can someone in the know give a quick synopsis of his game? From what I’ve seen of him, he looks rail thin and I don’t really see how he helps us immediately in the front court next season. I feel like he would really have trouble holding position against a thick bodied forward like Emmitt Williams from LSU. Does he have any kind of go-to post moves? The only move Nick has is the hook shot. Not once have I seen an up and under of step through from Nick. It would be nice to get a post player again with some craftiness to his game.
I kinda figured thats where his game was. I definitely agree about adding bulk. As he is now, he will get pushed around easily. My hope is that we can get a commitment in the spring from Kuminga and a reclassified Banchero. That should give us the studs we need up front while letting Jackson develop his game and body and come in and be the energy guy for around 20 mins per game like you said. He’s a good pickup but not the answer we need at the forward spot to make an immediate impact. I see him as a two year player at the least.I have seen Jackson play several games when watching SPIRE with Melo Ball. Jackson is very thin, but can jump out of the gym and very long and athletic. His shot wasn't that bad, and can hopefully develop a nice 3-point/mid range game to his arsenal. They never posted him up and never played with his back to the basket, he was more of a face-up offensively. He did have a pretty good motor and was very active on the glass. If he does come to Kentucky, hopefully we will have the depth where Jackson isn't playing more than 20 minutes a game his freshman year. Main two things to improve and work on is adding bulk and working on a more consistent jump shot. Definitely a little raw and a 2-3 year guy, unless he somehow drastically changes and knows his role with the team.
I thought I had that poster on ignore. You would be lucky to find one post from him with even a hint positivity in it.
