Pajamas? People actually still sleep in those?

I can't have ish on while sleeping, maybe boxers but anything else is just unnecessary items. T-shirts are the worst with the sleeves getting twisted up.

Our dress code was dictated by the fact that we always had to do a large family picture every year- it wasnt a money or status issue. I lived off of dixie highway.

Aren’t most store bought turkeys already brined?

I’ve smoked multiple whole turkeys and turkey breasts on the Weber Smoky Mountain and they have all been brined by the producer.

Light smoker to 300-350. Dump seasoning on whole bird. Stick in smoker until it’s done. No need to spatchcock or even handle a dirty *** turkey that much.

Take a vacation and skip the holiday altogether. FTW.

Also, hoping I'm allowed to take over some of the Christmas cooking this year to get the quality up to proper standards. The meatballs aren't cutting it any longer. Frankly, at 38, it's time I'm given something other than apps/zerts.

Signs pointing toward the NCAA just caving on the Wiseman deal (per twitter)... I mean- "boosters" who would later become the HC admitting to giving a family thousands seems like a pretty clear violation (whether you agree or not that players should take cash)... Just start over completely with the rule book if thats the case.

UPDATE: He's not eligible until he's eligible again.

Yep. These days they pretty much always cave on the highest profile issues with one exception, of course. :)joy:)

Actually did a pajama jammy jam for Christmas couple years ago. Was very enjoyable and well received by all.

Definitely need @WayneDougan to chime in w/ his wardrobe & ridiculous menu before we close this topic.

Dress Code:
  • Been really into the Lululemon ABC pants lately; will probably wear those with a collared shirt and sweater (if cold).
  • Daughters will wear dresses, although I have nothing to do with that. Besides, they prefer it.
  • Wife will wear a nice skirt I assume and spend an hour getting ready
  • Son will get dressed up (because of my wife), but he'll do his best to take his shirt off by dessert because he thinks he's the Incredible Hulk these days
Menu:
  • Turkey roulade; looks classy but easier and quicker than a whole bird.
  • Wife's family's stuffing is legendary
  • All the regular other items are pretty ordinary, yet delicious
  • Mac and Cheese for the kids and less sophisticated adults
So that's all pretty normal - what sets apart my Thanksgiving is the wine I procure. Really sets the tone and holds the meal together. I won't get into it all here, but for you Louisville guys, just go to Commonwealth Tap and tell Kenny that Wayne sent you and you want the Thanksgiving Special. If you can't make it over there, pick yourself up some Gewürztraminers and Oregon Pinots. Your minimum price point should be ~$20.

And for F's sake, drink the wine out of real wine glasses instead of little plastic cups.

A pair of F’n khakis doesn’t seem like a big ask on Thanksgiving is all.

Nice jeans or these, which cawood wears...

Nice jeans >>>> most khakis unless you are talking about Peter Millar or similar. Otherwise, you look like a wrinkled slouch in a few hours.

- No Thanksgiving this year...doing a family ski trip in Canada. Don't even plan on having turkey.

- Smokey turkey is fun, but over the years have moved down to just smoking some turkey breasts with a sous-vide whole tenderloin, finishing it off in the egg after the breasts are done.

- Rethinking the trip to see the CATS play Texas tech. The loss just put a damper on wanting to travel to see the CATS. Could just take another ski trip instead.

Sounds pretty cultish.

I have some nice friends/connections in Lubbock, just not the easiest place to get to w/ my current points stash. I'm definitely down though if a few of my kate besties will join.

PTI(pti) and SAE especially seem desparate for a good legit away game.

Gotta tell you, I am pretty concerned about Thanksgiving this year. I’m going skiing at Lillehammer in Norway right before, and don’t get back until Wednesday evening. Fingers crossed I get back in time!

Speaking of Turkey, vendor brought smoked Turkey 'Ribs' from Shack in the Back today for lunch...served w/ their white lightning sass.

Things are unreal if you've never enjoyed.
