if i were going to guess i would say that he would have had to sit 9 games and repay the money
that may still happen
By playing Wiseman in defiance of the NCAA ruling Memphis is putting themselves in a bind. They are not likely to get relief by defying the NCAA.

Discrimination baby. They do nothing to Kansas and Arizona for doing far worse than Hardaway did, that is flat out discrimination, which is against the law in this country. Memphis going to take nc aa to court, and the ncaa is scared to death of this. The discrimination play is the way to go. The way a lot of people on this board react to Hardaway, you must be scared to death of him, if you weren't you wouldn't keep saying over and over how bad he is. If a judge says Wiseman can play, he can play. The ncaa may think they are untouchable, but when these schools start taking them to court they are going to find out they are not untouchable at all. This is what the ncaa is scared to death about, that is why they acted so quickly on this one..

Penny is doing what Memphis U wants.
The Administration could order Wiseman be benched.

But the desire to win is greater than their concern for their reputation and their commitment to do what is right.
Well to be honest Memphis reputation left town the day Cal left town .

And Wiseman would have been declared ineligible at UK. His family received $11,500 in impermissible benefits regardless if it was from a booster like Penny.
Penny gave him 11k to move James and his entire family to Memphis

Brilliant.

On another note, my nickname in high school was Mike-D and I tried to use it as my name on here but it wouldn't let me because you already had it.

The only thing I like about Penny were his shoes from his paying days. Still have two pairs of them.
