There's always room for improvement. Always. Tell me how you think Cal should improve.

Well I think he has already started to do it with some change up in recruiting. Getting guys who can shoot and potentially hang around for 2 years+. He is working on changing the narrative which I think is key.

Cal gave this kid one last pitch on that last visit. Cade and his family listened but the ties to his brother at OSU was just too hard to break.

It's pretty simple when you look at it from the families point of view. Cal gave the kid and his family all of the positives that UK would provide Cade, but in the end, they felt like being with his brother was more important.

Yeah, but Cal didn’t call that meeting, the Cunningham's did.

I guess I could have put this in the other thread, but dudes are wishing serious injuries for CC.

Maybe I'm way off on this, but let me know your thoughts on this theory.

Is it possible that the Cunningham family called Cal out to their house to pitch a scenario to him? A "what if" scenario if you will.

We know OK State is about to get slapped. I think it's possible that the Cunningham's told Cal that they want Cade to play for his brother at OKC, but if **** drops on OK State and the AD fires the staff, would Cal still want Cade at UK?

The reason I think this is, that meeting was so sudden and out of nowhere. It feels like that's what that was about to me. So we would be the backup plan, but it's hard to beat family.

I don't follow recruiting like a lot of you guys do, so maybe this is really silly and makes literally zero sense. If so, this thread will fade into oblivion and I'll get laughed at, but it's worth thinking about… to me anyway.
Where do you get your drugs? Kentucky must have better stuff than Oklahoma

according to the people that were calling Cade to UK

Do we really even know that to be true?
It's how I understood it. Cal walked out on all those boosters, if he called the meeting, he would have scheduled the meeting around the booster event.

There's a relationship there that was built through a lot of hard work over several years.

They have a ton of respect for Cal for how he recruited Cade throughout the entire process and knowing the situation.

They wanted to tell him in person that they were going to OSU and that it simply came down to family business.

I hope nobody would wish this kid serious injury over him not selecting the college that they want. Things happen for reasons, for CC and for UK. I think that we may be better off with Askew running next year's team. The worst part is that Brown may not be as interested in the Cats, with CC going to OSU.

I believe Cade would make us a better team, but maybe Cal turns Askew into a higher draft pick and proves again what he can do.

I don't give a flyin' f$%^ if CC decides to disappear for a whole year. But it's pretty low of OSU to use his brothers continued employment as leverage. A d honestly, what other reason could there be to pick OSU over ANY other program in the country.

Classless? You have a few posters wishing injury on Cunningham because he didn’t commit to your program. That’s classless!
Though a couple of good people called them out for their bs

This is why our fans need to watch what they say on this subject. Idk if he called cal out to visit for that reason but OsU could fall through for him.

Any older brother whose career is dependent on the decisions of his little brother probably needs to reconsider the degree of his own life's trajectory.

Every time I think of Cannen Cunningham now, it will be hard for me not to think "life choice cuckery."
No **** that is what sticks out to me as a man. Make your own way on your own merit. Different times I guess. The way this went down I have no respect for them as I have for some recruits that didn't choose us, but we're straight shooters. They are both lacking integrity. One is a leech and the other a fake attention *****. My recruitment is still completely open I swear. LMFAO Let them both be miserable in Stillwater. I know they won't because we only play good teams, but man I wish the Big 12/SEC Challenge would set it up for them to visit Rupp next year. That would be fun. We could play his little trolling video after we run them out of the gym.

That’s what I'm saying. There's a possibility that OsU gets slapped and if they do, it might be in Cade's best interest to leave that situation.

Bro if this is true omg
Evan Daniels picked UK in his crystal ball because Cade committed to Cal when he flew down there. The kid flipped. This is why I feel for Dave in situations like this - getting ruthlessly attacked on the board - and why lots of folks quit posting information here. Jaden and Cade are two classic recruiting situations - just cannot trust what teenagers say until it's official.

I hope we get them next year. Play the vid and chant NIT every time he touches the ball.

I won’t wish him harm but I hope he shoots 20% for the year and goes undrafted!

It takes lowlife scum to wish injury, but I agree with this 100%

This theory is possible, just not probable.

Cal has already walked away from top 10 recruits who were stringing us out. Had his family asked this, Cal would have left immediately and the relationship / contact would have been over.

Cal is refusing to let kids play him like that any more.

If they did ask this, then Cal's answer would have been no.

I think it more reasonable they wanted to let Cal know he was keeping his brother employed for an extra year.

However, the troll job video makes me think it was just them wanting more attention.

It’s a big deal if you want another title anytime soon. Facts are facts and, while we are still recruiting well, we are not landing our main targets. Hell, we’ve put AD, KAT, and Boogie in the league and we can’t even land a decent big man. We’re hoping to land second tier bigs in Jackson and Omouryi (sp?) now. Sure we have pieces to be good, but I want U.K. to be great. I sure as hell want another title and I know I’m not the only one that knows it makes it a lot harder to win a title when you’re wiffing on your main targets. Makes it damn frustrating too when top recruits lead us on and use us just to build their brand. Makes us look weak.
I am so sorry you are frustrated. This recruiting sure makes us look weak. Did you sleep any last night? That recruit Maxey made us look so weak last night. Hope we get over this frustration and weakness soon.

OK State isn't getting slapped, their assistant was taking small dollars to steer two kids toward an agent and only one even got drafted (2nd round). He wasn't passing money to players or recruits like some other programs are dealing with.

You don't have to shovel millions of dollars.to get slapped here.
Louisville lost a title and two final fours because they got some recruits laid.
OsU is going to get slapped.

I don't think we will know what happen until maybe a year or two down the road. Cal is not going to tell what happen because he is a players 1st type of coach. Hope the young man the best but we just beat the #1 ranked team in the nation so lets just enjoy the season.

It's unlikely that UK will get all the players they want.

Sanctions don't matter. If you're interested in winning you don't go to OK State in the first place.

This is what Ive said for years on these situations thats impossible for some to ever get. It doesnt matter who says what and who hears what. It can come from a coach, a family member or even the kid himself but all that means is what somebody heard AT THAT TIME. Thing are alwasy in somewhat a state of flux. If I was a big time recruit I'd have committed no every visit and twice to most before I was forced to settle on one.

It doesnt mean "insiders" are putting out crap info, it just means thats the lates they heard. Not if then take that at any point and try to spin it into, "Done Deal", "Its a Lock" etc just to be a big shot, thats on them.

And here's a tip . . . this is ALWAYS the case and will be the next recruit and the next one and the next one so try to grasp this and it will make life easier.

I’m curious as to why you think I’m coming “unglued”. I can promise you that I’m sitting at home laughing with my buddy and having a swell time watching the opening night of college b-ball. I’m not mad or upset in the least and my life doesn’t revolve around what these recruits do. I said what I said because he trolled Kentucky and used us for his own personal gain. If you’re not with us, you’re against us and I will not wish well for you. That’s just my philosophy on life. I believe you’re the one that needs to take the chill pill my man.

I understand your frustration but wishing harm on a kid is not a good look. There's no way to spin it otherwise.

Well, we do have 8 titles in 100 years of basketball. Cal has put us in great positions to win a title year after year after year.

We are far from looking “weak.”
