Derek Anderson. I know they aren’t quite the same height but they play a similar game.

This is what I've always thought as well. Now, DA?! Sorry, I don't see it. I think some forget just how great DA was here.

Can see the Knight/Lamb combo for sure, but I'm with ya....no way on D.A.

Anderson was uber athletic and could dunk on about anyone at any time.

Those dunks pre ACL his senior year vs. Louisville and Indiana...wow.

I don't see IQ doing this...

I would have gone with Allen Edwards. Similar size and game. Quickly is a little more of a scorer but they are both do everything wing players. Quickly, Hagans and Maxey are the only sure fire starters. More than likely EJ is in the lineup but the first 3 are pretty much the 3 best players on the team. They start absolutely.

Anderson was the best player in the country his senior year before he was injured.
Yes. Best player in 1997 is really saying something. College ball was very strong back then. I'm sorry but IQ just isn't on DA's level. Dude was a stone cold killer here!

Edit: Clarke, that's coming next year, reminds me of DA quite a bit, though, actually.

I don’t see Cal starting 3 guys under 6’4, but I don’t disagree that those 3 along with Sestina looked the best.

Yep.. Can't see any comparison to Derek.. IQ is not near as explosive around the rim.. DA was an elite SF at that time.. Had he been healthy in 97 we'd already have 9 Natty's

This is the beginning of his sophomore year. DA was a senior

IQ has made tremendous progress. Many others could have done the same by staying a second year.

Doesn't remind me of anyone in particular. Maybe a little bit of Truman Claytor in him.

I don't see how their games are similar at all lol. Quickley reminds me more of Brandon Knight (and Knight was awesome and not a bad player to be compared too) as said by some above. Not seeing the Anderson comparison at all.

Not seeing this comparison at all. Not the same position, not the same skill set, not the same size, not much at all that seems the same to me.

DA played the small forward spot, and the main thing that jumps out to me when I remember his game was his extraordinary athleticism and explosiveness, IQ is a combo guard, smaller, far more perimeter oriented and has never shown anything near DA's level of athleticism.

Folks here come up with some odd comparisons.

This is a very good comparison IMO.

Hard to tell right now, but I'd place him more in the category of combo guard guys like A.J. Guyton than that of a high flying swingman like Derek Anderson.

Was excited to see a trio of Quickley, Clarke, and Cunningham next season! If he plays anywhere near his BW performance this season, that’s not happening!
