The Dogg show happened a good 15 minutes after the scrimmage & "family" entertainment portion ended. An i hope, that you as a parent, would know beforehand who & what Snoop Dogg does for a living an the performances he's known for. I'm not excusing anything. I loved it along with the entire student body.
Well good for you , now run along back to Jailhawk land my little trashy fellow .

Where am i excusing anything? My problem is with the parents who were clueless as to who Snoop Dogg is. I'd love for them to explain what Gin & Juice is to their 8 year old before staying for the concert. Nobody forced those good folks to stay.
when did Gin and juice come out?... I guarantee you have no clue; before you googled it

I don't like the fact they had to appease the old alumni who was appalled that the Statler Brothers were unavailable.

The fact that you’re even defending it despite your AD sending out an apology that made national headlines throws your credibility out the window. You can admit it was a mistake while also enjoying the show for what it was.

There’s nothing wrong with Snoop Dogg and anyone who enjoys him, but his show is not something that should be paid for by an athletics department. Parents shouldn’t have to haul *** out of the arena with their kids to avoid stripper poles, dancers, and the like at a UNIVERSITY event.

Snoop Dogg is great, but if you can’t recognize the mistake you’re either naive, an idiot, or both. I don’t even think it’s that big a deal, but when you throw in the recent NOA, you and your athletics department deserve to be mocked.

Smart move would have been to have a Snoop Dogg concert tonight for those that like that kind of stuff.

Foolish to try to entertain two different demographic of fans in one night.

The old people KU posters are referring to are the boosters who put money into the school and athletics and you basically just gave them them the middle finger.! But if I was college student and was there it would have been cool ofcourse.

So anyone know what recruits were actually there, if any?

I was at the Phog last night an loved it. The parents/donors who got upset with it should of done a little research in to who Snoop Dogg was & his playlist of songs. It's actually disappointing coach Self & Long issued apologies. The students & players loved it. The only thing missing was Will Ferrell streaking to the quad.

The fact that your university hired that no talent moron in the first place says it all about KU. You don’t hire that type of turd for a family event or really to ever represent a university.

Parents bring their kids to these events. Many of them. Do you expect fans to just leave the event at a certain point? No, they shouldn’t be expected to. You just don’t hire someone like this for this type of event. To do so is stupid beyond all reason.

This bigger issue really is what Seth Greenberg was saying. Forget about pearl clutching, or what about thie kids (which is had enough in and of itself), it’s just unbelievably tone deaf considering the current circumstances surrounding KU basketball. It’s amazingly stupid.

Well, they’re Kansas so.......

So your telling us that nobody from Kansas walked out there when the girls, polls, and money guns came out and said hey this isn’t what we discussed?

I mean you can play the victim if you want, but if you lay with dogs you get fleas, if you hire Snoop your gonna get the works. As far as Snoop goes, that was clean for him. Only an idiot would think he wasn't gonna represent his image. If anything this controversy only furthers his agenda of keeping his image where he wants it.

People angry about Snoop Dogg are missing out on the comedy of a gangster rapper with strippers, a money gun and a dog mascot with a blunt performing a concert for 30 minutes at a college basketball practice in Kansas. Have literally been laughing out loud all day.

And no I don’t think this was all supposed to be an F you to NCAA. I’m sure there was an element of that, but LOL... I can’t believe they knew it’d be it was what it was...

Snoop Dogg...lol... what did they think was going to happen?

so true. When Self and Long apologize and say they didn’t know what was going to happen they’re either a.) lying or b.) hilariously stupid.

JFC.. Snoop isnt the problem. Its Pole dancers at a family event.. a school got in trouble 2 years ago for strippers and prostitutes.. kansas literally couldnt have played this worse, especially facing an investigation.

.. good. **** em.

The thought of a Kansas fan dad with a 7 year old there just trying to enjoy Late Night at the Phog (I have a 7 year old myself) hastily trying to escape a scene with blunt smoking mascots, vulgar music, and girls dancing on stripper poles is cracking me up. My god I’d be pissed if I were a Kansas fan.

I’m not even kidding when I say it’s almost like Kansas admin got together and said “considering the current climate, what is the absolute stupidest thing we can do at late night? How can we just completely step on our dicks here?” And this was what they came up with.

Aside from the stripper poles, vulgarity and dope smokin mascots, I think the money gun is the funniest part. Consider:

At the same time KU is under investigation for major violations surrounding using Adidas to play players ...KU hires a rapper decked out in Adidas gear to blast fake money at a crowd that included the players and recruiting targets, and at an event well known for being used as a recruiting tool.

Good grief, it sure ain't hard to decipher the symbolic message there. The level of KU's tone deafness here is staggering.

it really is unbelievable. I’m dying. I’m not mad or “clutching my pearls” here ... I’m cracking up at how absolutely stupid Kansas is right now. And their fans for not recognizing HOW stupid it is :joy:

Well at least any recruits felt right at home during all this, this is nothing different from their usual official first visit.

He is 6'4 but 47 years old. Pretty impressive that he can still throw down.

Regarding the show...lol, Kansas. I don't even know what to say. I mean...Snoop is historic, one of best rappers ever but for God's sake how do you not know how this show is going to turn out?

Did the AD think they hired Will Smith to get jiggy with it or something?

You just perfectly explained why KU should have never had Snoop there to begin with. Congrats on owning up to utter stupidity.

Is this Kansas pleading insanity? I mean go out there and be so damn stupid that the NCAA thinks you’re insane. It’s equivalent to talking to yourself in the courtroom.

If I went to the event, I’d been more pissed that I had to hear a song from him because I literally have never heard a song by him (to my knowledge)

Poor Ku didn't know what acrobatic dancers meant with Snopp LMFAO!
Tuff times in Lawerence, time to woo some recruits with some booty shaking.

“I didn’t know there was going to be anything like that,” said coach Bill Self, the active college sports leader in I Didn’t Know statements.

https://sports.yahoo.com/bill-self-...atic-dancers-and-money-cannons-175446368.html

That link is a good read ..and spot on correct.

Poor KU, why do mean people keep tricking them into doing these things?
