It could be even with a cloud hanging over the Kansas program the AD and the coach are incompetent and may as well resign. There is also the theory that the Kansas athletic dept. is ran by Adidas and they're letting the NCAA know it really doesn't matter what the NCAA does. Adidas will take care of Kansas.
It was still a lot less offensive than when Duke recreated that movie scene from the Titanic a few years ago.

I was at the Phog last night an loved it. The parents/donors who got upset with it should of done a little research in to who Snoop Dogg was & his playlist of songs. It's actually disappointing coach Self & Long issued apologies. The students & players loved it. The only thing missing was Will Ferrell streaking to the quad.
Did the announcer yell out "Ear muffs!" During Snoop's set?
Kansas coach Bill Self was quoted as saying, “I was really appalled at the music and dancing. I knew nothing about the kind of music this ‘Snoop Dogg’ played. Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to roll down the street smokin’ indo, while I sip my gin & juice.”
You have to admit the optics of Self being embroiled in a scandal where he claims “to have no knowledge” and was a victim of Adidas’s shady dealings looks REALLY REALLY bad for there to be pole dancing and fake money being shot into the crowd and Self again claims “to have no knowledge” of the performance plans. Does he know about anything that happens in his own program????
College basketball is as much a draw to kids as anyone else. You know that. Was a damn shame what went on there. Had this happened at a UK game AND I had my kids there, my fan hood likely ends at that very moment. The fact you’d try to excuse it is pathetic, but not surprising.

Look. If you want to have Snoop do a show, that’s one thing. He could just come by himself do a couple of songs with radio edit and that would be kind of cool. But when you let Snoop roll free? That’s what happens.
There’s no person on earth (unless they are severely sheltered) that would see those poles and not be able to figure out what those poles would be used as. ESPECIALLY when Snoop is involved.
KU just gave the NCAA Exhibit A in the charge of “lack of institutional control”. My church choir meets once a week and we know exactly what’s going to happen when we perform. You’re telling me a DIV I college (that claims to be a pure blue blood at that) doesn’t know what’s going to happen at their OWN LATE NIGHT?!? B to the capital S. Or at the very least not hear a rumor there might be more to it?!
What little respect I had for Bill Self (which wasn’t much) went right out the window.

The Dogg show happened a good 15 minutes after the scrimmage & "family" entertainment portion ended. An i hope, that you as a parent, would know beforehand who & what Snoop Dogg does for a living an the performances he's known for. I'm not excusing anything. I loved it along with the entire student body.
He says as he's excusing it. I, too, put out press releases apologizing for things that aren't a big deal.
This is a perfect case study on how ridiculous fans can be about their team vs. how they’d react if it were another team. If UK were embroiled in the same scandal as Kansas is right now, THEN turned around and had this at Big Blue Madness, they’d be killing us for it. And rightfully so. Instead they’re like “high five! Let’s stick it to the NCAA! I love it that Bill is thumbing his nose at them!” Of course it confuses the matter when their coach and AD both apologize for it. Now they’re like **** am I supposed to cheer or no?

Where am i excusing anything? My problem is with the parents who were clueless as to who Snoop Dogg is. I'd love for them to explain what Gin & Juice is to their 8 year old before staying for the concert. Nobody forced those good folks to stay.
It's not a surprise with our resident KU fans. These dudes have no integrity. Not Knee, Noone, or anyone else I have ever seen slither their way over here. The next KU fan to post with integrity on this board will be the first.
