No this is not about our pension system.

I am decorating my classroom and I have about 80 ceiling tiles that I am going to have various students and faculty paint for my class. The picture will feature the back of a player’s jersey for the most part. I’m avoiding faces because many students would have a hard time with that and I am not artsy.

Anyways drop the name of a few UK players you would put in your own personal hall of fame in this thread. This would help me in deciding who goes up on my ceiling. I already have Wall, Davis, and The Delk up.

It would be cool to do some title banners too so your ceiling looks like the rafters.

Those would be easy to do and you'd only have to alter the years. Rest could be a stencil.

Your room’s going to look super dark after all those tiles are painted.
That being said, the starting 5 of all 8 championship teams along with the coach and the banner.

Interesting question...first thing in my mind is what I woud consider as criteria to enter any hall of fame.

In my view, any kind of HOF is reserved only for those whose on-field performances were of such high quality and caliber, and sustained for a long period of time, that they cannot be easily duplicated. Winning and championships/""""""""""""I think likely obvious choices not to consider would be players who only stayed one or two years. The recent one-and-dones, the Unforgettables (jerseys retired), Rex leaving after two years; any transfers into the program or out, and any whose careers were of stellar quality but made decisions to leave in their interest instead of that of UK's (Jodie Meeks, Jamal Mashburn).

My HOF list is small. Dan Issel, Jack Givens, Cotton Nash, Cliff Hagan, Frank Ramsey, Ralph Beard, and Kenny Walker.

It alternates. First Jersey is blue and next is white. So it should contrast well

I have a lot more tiles than that so get in a more TarHeel mind set and imagine you had to hang 80 of your favorite players up there

I don't have any suggestions. But let me say good for you, man. My fiance goes in about a month before school actually begins to get her classroom ready to be a place that engages her kids and be a place they want to be in. She's a Star Wars gal, so her themes tilt toward that and she puts in a lot of her free time to make this happen.

I know full well the efforts required to spruce up an otherwise drab room that kids want to be in, and how much easier such a simple thing like this can make it to fill the minds of your kids.

You're doing God's work.

I believe there are nearly 50 guys who were all Americans. Seems like you could include them all in addition to the championship coaches and maybe a couple others.

When painting ceiling tiles, Pitino should be a mandatory inclusion.

Yep Thats where I was going ! And I'm joking of course . No to Ricky P and his hoe's and NO to Boogie Cousins. .. neither are worthy of using in a kids class room .

Each year in my calculus class the kids get to paint tiles basically of whatever they want. The previous teacher started it and when she retired I kept the tradition going. The whole ceiling was covered and I had started to replace the oldest ones. Had some great tiles but made it a little distracting for kids with attention issues lol.

This year they ripped out the ceiling in our building and we were told no more painted tiles due to fire safety. Guess the paint makes the tiles less fire resistant.

Sad because it was a great tradition for kids taking a tough class, but I’m going to start a mural instead on my large back wall and let the kids add to it each year.

Post a pic of the ceiling when you get it finished.
