Well it's got to be good that he has not made an announcement yet, hopefully he is still thinking it over

You always focus on the now...thing with most likely reclass big (Dante) he's said it'll be August before he decides what he'll do. So if that is an option, UK will focus on that and they are in touch with Dante. Hope the schools they are up against keep using that negative **** talking as it blew up in their face Draft Night.

So you think if Blackshear is a no go they’ll turn it up for Dante and try to get him eligible for next year? And I don’t know much about juco recruiting but I’m assuming they’ve pretty much signed or committed to where they’re goin?

Maybe Blackshear Jr or Sr s addicted to gambling. We all know he has a better shot at a FF and title here but think about the other things that apply to him and his NBA dream. Sure there are better players here, but those better players will bring more scouts and more exposure that he can also be seen by. At TN even their fanbase seems to think their season is make or break by landing KB. So by going to TN, he is gambling that he can do it all and get scouts to come to watch TN. But why would they if they don't have a very good team? To see him who they passed on in this draft? Maybe he makes TN good enough to make the Tourney and make a run. But that's a big maybe because history is against them.

So you come to UK and maybe you take fewer shots, but he would get all the minutes he can handle. So with one year left he is going to gamble on a bunch of maybes instead of sure things like UK will make a run at the FF and will be in the Tourney for sure. UK gets a ton of exposure and scouts are constantly at games and practices. So all those great players that may scare him off might be his ticket to getting the exposure he needs. Seems crazy to me to gamble against a sure thing, but I guess crazier things have happened. Just not at TN. This isn't a guy with ties to TN. This is a guy that wants to be drafted period. The best bet is UK. But maybe he wants to roll the dice with his future.

I agree with a couple of the posts today that were saying when Coach Cal had his Summer Press-Conference he stated that he was wanting 1 more big since we had only 2 and you never know about injuries. We have seen a couple of Injuries over the last 2-3 years and we also run in to Foul trouble especially in the SEC. Coach Cal really emphasized getting another big man for these reasons above either a Injury or Foul Trouble in the SEC. So, if Coach Cal thought for sure Blackshear was headed to another school then we would be hearing more about getting a reclassify which would be important after Cal talking about only having 2 big men and concerns of an Injury or foul trouble.

We have heard of a couple of the other schools in the Blackshear sweepstakes looking and talking about other big options. I would think we would have already heard the options that Coach Cal is going strong for reclassifying for 2019-2020 season. I also know many UK fans on here and other UK websites were disappointed when Coach Cal was asked on Sunday at the Camp about Blackshear. Coach Cal's answer was the only one he could answer with and that UK will be good with him and UK will be good without him. Coach Cal couldn't come out say and that he is so excited that we will be adding Blackshear to the roster for next season. I really don't believe to many fans and experts know right now where he will be going to next year.

Saw this today for what it's worth.

After developing into a potential NBA level big man at Virginia Tech, Blackshear has been the subject of pretty strong recruiting battle that has had twists and turns and lots of indecisiveness. My belief is that he should be making his decision soon and I would venture to guess that he picks either Arkansas, Kentucky or Tennessee but until he makes a decision we'll all continue to watch and wait.

Don't forget 86 LSU after beating them three times that year.
Lived in Atlanta back then. Week of the Regional I was having dinner with a business associate at Bones (Atlanta steakhouse) when the LSU team came in and sat right next to us. I knew Dale Brown a little bit back then and said hi. Told him we'd beat them again...but I was none too confidant. Hard to beat somebody three times, let alone four.

Agree. Ricky Blanton was the key to that team.
Similar to trying to beat an inferior Auburn team 3 times this year.

Obviously at least somewhat concerned about competition in practice and getting pushed to the limit to be his best. Imagine when he hits the pro's and hasn't experienced all that yet.

So, anyway, probably doesn’t mean much, but my buddy just called me and said no change in feeling from the staffers (if you don’t know, my buddy has a buddy who is friendly with a couple on staff - don’t know exactly how or what positions, but somehow on staff doing something). Sounds funny, a friend of a friend knows somebody.....oldest line in the book, but he really does! Anyway, apparently the feeling is still pretty good. Again, probably doesn’t mean ****. But it’s what I’m choosing to hold on to.

We also talked a bit about another assistant coach further south; apparently he is tearing **** up for a 2nd year coach recruiting-wise.

If so, what a mistake. We all know the saying about doing the same thing over and over, expecting different results. Mike Young has sent exactly one player to the NBA in all his years of coaching. What is Blackshear thinking?

Yeah I dunno. I doubt it is a true story...lots of people saying lots of stuff. I just figured I'd share cus I happened to see the tweet. Guy also claims to be a journalist in a different tweet.

There are a lot of looney toons on twitter.
