I am just sad that I was never able to see a live concert with Collins. The last I read was that he needed to set for most of his performance and did not play drums.

That entire monologue is from the movie "American Psycho" with Christian Bale..one of his three hysterical monologues about "Huey Lewis And The News", Phil Collins, and Whitney Houston. It's one of the darkest comedies ever made. Christian Bale's best performance, in my opinion. [thumb2]

Do you like Phil Collins?

I've been a big Genesis fan ever since the release of their 1980 album, Duke. Before that, I really didn't understand any of their work. Too artsy, too intellectual. It was on Duke where Phil Collins' presence became more apparent. I think Invisible Touch was the group's undisputed masterpiece. It's an epic meditation on intangibility. At the same time, it deepens and enriches the meaning of the preceding three albums. Listen to the brilliant ensemble playing of Banks, Collins and Rutherford. You can practically hear every nuance of every instrument. In terms of lyrical craftsmanship, the sheer songwriting, this album hits a new peak of professionalism.

Take the lyrics to Land of Confusion. In this song, Phil Collins addresses the problems of abusive political authority. In Too Deep is the most moving pop song of the 1980s, about monogamy and commitment. The song is extremely uplifting. Their lyrics are as positive and affirmative as anything I've heard in rock. Phil Collins' solo career seems to be more commercial and therefore more satisfying, in a narrower way. Especially songs like In the Air Tonight and Against All Odds. But I also think Phil Collins works best within the confines of the group, than as a solo artist, and I stress the word artist. This is Sussudio, a great, great song, a personal favorite.

F***ing awesome reference.

My opinion if he was coming to Kentucky. He wouldn’t be taking any other visits. He would know Kentucky is were he wants to be and commit! it’s not good for the Cats if he takes other visits!

I am Batman . I want to see Keaton again as Batman . Bale done his part

No doubt, man..the two best Batman actors. I'd like to see a continuation of Burton's films with Michael Keaton as a retired Batman/Bruce Wayne training a new Batman. It would be awesome. I love the Dark Knight Trilogy by Nolan but every time I go back and watch Burton's Batman 1989 and Batman Returns with Keaton, Nicholson, Pfeiffer, DeVito, and Basinger, it's just so nostalgic, brings back so many memories and my childhood, entertaining, dark, gritty, gothic, and FUN. It honestly feels like you're in a Batman comic book, it's so artistic. I love both of those films as well. And Danny Elfman's Batman themes and scores are untouchable. Maybe, but the same could be said of every other school, no? So, basically it's a wash.

Hell who knows if A&M still gets one now though I bet they do out of respect but he ain't going there. And IF it really was done to 2 schools Tennessee wouldn't be the other one .

If we get this guy, not only does it make us a serious National Title contender, it makes us the National Title favorite, in my honest opinion. I mean, this should be a simple choice..play for the National Title favorites, his best chance at the NBA is with Coach Cal (If Coach Cal can get Josh Harrellson to the NBA, he certainly can Kerry Blackshear Jr.), play for the greatest and winningest college basketball program of all time, win a lot, get playing time, etc etc

If he didn't commit while here, it tells me he isn't coming.
Well, no one knows “officially” yet, but by that logic, he’s not attending UF, UA, or UT either.
Keep the faith, and rest easy knowing that UK is loaded w/o KBJ. I feel UK is the pick, if he thinks the chemistry works.

I love music. Absolutely love it. All genres. Great post. With that said I have never particularly liked Genesis or Phil Collins
I’m with you, love me some music. Got tickets to see Gov’t Mule Friday in Cincinnati.

Ok enough drama already. The kid is a decent basketball player, but isn’t this great or he would be in the draft.

This confuses me.

So, whenever you buy a car, you don't check out all the cars on your list before making a decision? Most people do.

When you put your resume out there, do you check out the employers that reach out to you? Most people do.

Have you ever checked out several items in a store, only to return to one of the first items you looked at and buy it? Most people have done that.

You also need to consider that the report in the link in the first post in this thread appears to he from a UT fan site. Think about that.

Exactly. I'm starting to wonder if some of these guys actually think about what they're posting at any point before they hit the button to post it.

IDK, that link takes you to a UT site where it looks like a whole lot of wishful thinking.

I bet we could find a Florida gaytors fan site that claims they have a source, that has a source, that has a buddy, that has a girlfriend, that cleans the bathrooms in the practice facility, that claims it's down to KY and Florida and that the UK visit wasn’t what Kerry thought it would be.

Nice find though.

The original source was Gene Henley, a sportswriter for the Chattanooga paper. That does not mean that the "traditional" press is always infallible, but it does suggest that this might have more legitimacy than mere wishful thinking.

Is "Gene Henley" another name for Evan Daniels? If so, I never knew that.

So tell me, how does some Ray Romano guy down in Chattanooga Tennessee know what went down yesterday during Kerry's visit?

Sorry, but when I read that piece, it looks like wishful thinking to me.

Okay, yeah, obviously UT is still in it, well duh, KB hasn't announced anything yet.

So are you thinking momma and/or pappa Blackshear called the Chattanooga times and told this guy where they are currently at in the recruiting process?

It just doesn't add up.

He's good enough to put UK over the top. We've had about 40+ NBA players and one title to show for it. I'll take some very good college players at this point and win a title with them.

I'm hearing that Blackshear really likes the idea of playing with Josh Boone and the platoon of scrubs you guys will feature next season in Knoxville.

II think mostly it just means that Blackshear and his parents had a very constructive couple of days visit in Knoxville where questions were answered about where he would fit in both on the court and academically. From what i gather, a selling point is that he can step right into the Grant Williams role on the team. Another selling point I suspect they emphasised was the strength program and what it can do to enhance his NBA abilities and using the examples of Williams and Admiral Schofield to illustrate its effectiveness.

I believe every program he visited told him those same things. Every SEC program has a killer weight training program and plenty of playing time.

Grant Williams and Admiral Schofield were in that UT program for 3+ years, that's how long it took them to become the players they are now… .Kerry Blackshear has 1 year left to sell himself on the NBA.

Given those facts, if you're Kerry Blackshear, are you going to UK or UT?

Back to my point though, this guy in Chattanooga is obviously guessing, just like the rest of us. He has to be, like I said, Mrs. Blackshear didn’t dial him up and spill the beans on what's going on.

So what, Kerry had a great visit when he was in Knoxville and he hasn't come out and stated that he immediately committed to UK, that doesn't mean UT is still in the mix. My God, the kid just visited yesterday, for all we know, he's still there working out with the team, that happens a lot.

The one thing I'll give Ray Romano boy credit for is he was smart enough to say that UT is still in the mix. He didn't go out on a limb (because he has no sources), so if KB chooses UK or Florida, he can always just say "hey, we were in it until the end".

It's not like the Blackshear's are going to come out and say UT was never really considered.

There is not one single selling point that UT can provide for Blackshear that would benefit getting him ready for the next level his last year of college more so than UK can.

I bet we get an announcement for UK tomorrow, once the draft is out of the way. Talk of last season will be over then and Kentucky will have the last major addition and tons of buzz for the offseason. It’s the best PR move.

UK is not just “a car”, UK is not job that needs to beg for employess on Craigslist, and finally UK is not “just an item” on the shelves.

So they tried to sell him on the fact that he could come in and flop 20 times a game? Doesn't sound like a very good strategy to me.

Felt really confident going into last night. No, not with the Done Deal idiot tweeting, but it felt solid and timing was perfect. Now i still feel good about KB to UK, i even said it a few days ago, If he leaves here and takes a A&M visit i will be less confident. KB is not a 17 / 18 year old high school SR. He is a grown man and has been around a while. he is simply taking his time, weighing his options, then will make a decision. Still think UK, but nobody knows what KB is thinking.

Where I think Henley may be off base is not including Florida as a likely destination. When a decision is tough, proximity often carries the day.

Agreed, but my point still stands, most people explore all options before they make a decision, especially when it could be a life changing decision like this one.

Saying we lost KB because some dude in Chattanooga thinks he's going to visit aTm and Michigan (???) is nothing more than a quitters stance.

I don't see anything wrong with KB exploring all options with the exception of the fact that he is losing a ton of very valuable practice and weight room training time.

For a Freshman that wants to stay close and have their parents attends games, etc, maybe. Or someone with close ties to the local school. KB fits neither of those scenarios. Proximity will have no bearing when your goal is to get to the NBA as a 5th year grad transfer. National exposure will far outweigh proximity in this case I believe.
