Glad we got one. Welcome aboard, Zoom!

And can some of y’all stop $hitting on everyone we sign? I understand we’re upset with Pope, but good lord some of y’all need some weed or prozac or something.

Let’s see the roster before suicide watch, shall we? And, honestly, worst case is the roster sucks, team sucks, Pope is fired after next season and we roll the dice on someone else. Best case is the pieces fit, the team meshes well and we have a great season. At this point, I’m cool with either option and there isn’t a thing I can do to control it either way.
It’s one thing to be negative but some of these people demand you be just as miserable or they come at you like vampires. Basketball is fun for me…yes, it is extremely serious and important, but also fun — otherwise I wouldn’t spend all my time on it. But what do I know? I’m just an idiot 🤷‍♂️

Nothing special. About the same level as Aberdeen and Chandler by metrics. His size is good enough that he won't get pushed around or matchup hunted like a 6'1" 170 lb guard might.

Thanks for doing the work for me. Awareness looks a bit suspect but physical tools might be there?

I don't see anyone trashing him. But you and a handful of others on here sure like trashing other posters. Quit being such a self righteous drama queen.
If you don't see people doing it I suggest you take a remedial reading class. Oh by the way stick it where the sun don't shine

I dunno. I'm not a fan of the idea of developing players in the "everyone is a one-year rental" era of college basketball. You're supposed to just buy the guys who already do what you want them to do. His perimeter shooting and defense aren't weapons in his game, and people here are already imagining that this coaching staff will magically transform him into an efficient 3PT shooter and plus defender. Same with Freeman. Diallo is more of a downhill, midrange player that creates shots and he's very good at that.

Reposting this here because I think it is relevant in this thread

Diallo does absolutely nothing for me. He is not a star and is not even as good as Aberdeen was. He's a fine 4th or 5th option.

Aberdeen: ORtg = 121.3, DRtg = 114.4 (+6.9 points per 100 possessions), OWS = 2.6, DWS = 0.9
Diallo: ORtg = 114.7, DRtg = 112.5 (+2.2 points), OWS = 2.3, DWS = 0.9
I was never high on Aberdeen, and even Lowe for that matter, but I am confident Zoom is better, and will be better, than both of those guys.

Zoom shoots 58% at the rim. He finishes! That has been a huge issue for us. He also is an excellent defender and can switch. If we can get that 31% from 3 to 35%, we have something special!
He shot 18 percent as a freshman. He's willing to put the work in. Butler exploded offensively here compared to who he was every other year of his career. Butler worked his *** off, seems like zoom does too. Get Stokes and shooters and this could be great. I like Zoom as a player for us, the other pieces are extremely important if it's going to be successful though.
