Oh no... Hopefully you didn't just open this thread up into "I think/feel we'll lose U, V, X, Y, Z after this season to the draft, and S & T will be forced out to make room for Zion."

That stuff gets old.

I thought right now we have 2 slots open for next year. We have 11 currently and still have two open for next year. We know that Knox, Diallo, and probably Vanderbilt probably gone and some have talked about Gabriel going next year. That would be 3-4 additional spots and we know like last year probably most Kentucky players will at least try without signing an agent so they come back after feedback. I believe we will have Green, Alexander, and Baker back for guards and PJ Washington Forward back next year and Center Richards unless something happens during January - March with his play. We will have 5-6 slots open for next year and we know Quickley, Herro, and Johnson for 3 of those and will have 2-3 more to finish the class for Zion Williamson and hopefully Wiseman(if he reclassifies to 2018). That would be a outstanding team with Green, ALexander and Quickley at PG and Herro and Baker at SG and Keldon Johnson, Zion Williamson at forwards with PJ coming off the bench and Wiseman(if he reclassifies) at center with Richards if he stays. This could be an outstanding team if we can first get Zion Williamson and then add Moses Brown or Wiseman if he reclassifies.

Williamson is a unique player I’ve not seen in my lifetime, I honestly can’t compare his game with anyone I’ve watched at all.

I don’t know why so many people here constantly worry about if the position is too crowded or if there are enough scholarships left. Zion will start over anyone we’d have on the team at his position, and scholarships have NEVER been an issue. A kid as talented as Zion would get starter minutes no matter what team he joins, and the scholarships always work themselves out.

Zion to UK make absolutely ZERO sense at this point....epsically after signing Keldon Johnson coupled with what we will most certainly have coming back. hes going to UNC, it makes sense. Big name, close to home and definitely have a need for him.

My SOURCES are saying UNC is OUT. Down to UK/Clemson/NCst

It makes a ton of sense bc he’s gonna start over anyone returning and he will be logging bigtime minutes with the spotlight. He and UK have been tight from the get go I just don’t see him changing course for Clemson or any other.

I'll never count Cal out in a recruitment until the player says something himself. If we listened to most of the experts, than we would have had no shot at Kevin Knox. As long as we have Cal and as great of a recruiter as he is, it's hard to count him out for Zion.

We will survive without him, but I really want him.

Cal said he had his needs met and we would add one, maybe two more guys.

So I think the team is set and he is just trying to add to it. Williamson and maybe Brown or Wiseman (if he reclassifies).

We will have a good team of returnees back, plus the three guards we added.

Williamson just adds to that. He takes us up a notch if he comes here.

But we will be good enough to challenge for a title with or without him, IMHO.

My biggest worry is no one knows who is coming back, latest mock draft only has Kevin k going in 1 st round. Looks like to me if he was going to Kent , he would wait and see who stays and who goes. Him making decision now makes me think he will not be a cat. I think its a coin flip between the 3 acc teams.

Pay this guy no attention. Dude predicted Terrence Jones would be a bust at UK. Predicted Barrett to UK. Also had a meltdown of epic proportions a couple of months ago on here.

Who comes back has no bearing on Williamson.

He starts and plays 30+ minutes no matter who else is on the roster.

He knows this. Cal knows this. The players know this. Everyone should know this.

Williamson would be our best player this year.

Saw Jared at his freshman MM. You could see he had a motor that wouldn't quit even them. Enjoyed watching him. Just wish he could've hit a lay up.

Wonder if seeing guys like Trae Young do you well playing for lesser schools will give players the hometown hero dream a little.

This right here. If he doesn't come here, I think it's because of this reason. Also think this is why he has waited. Seems to me like its either himself or others behind him who are pushing for him to stay home and be "the man". I personally think he is closely watching to see how it pans out for guys like Young, who choose to stay home and be that guy. I think it boils down to whether he wants to compete for a championship or whether he wants to go somewhere, be the sole focus, and jack up 30 shots a game. I would love to get this guy and I really hope he decides he wants to be a winner.

We need Zion bad next year. He's a games changer. If he goes to duke I'll be sick for a while. I could live with Clemson, but watching trey young and bamba do what they are doing makes you kind of depressed.

No skin off my back. You can check my posting history and see I'm not a trouble maker. Sorry about the post.
I went through the same crap when I posted what I was hearing about Andrew Wiggins when his recruitment was winding down . I don't have "sources" but I did in that situation because I had a connection with the host family. People here tried to run me off the site .

Supposedly Louisville is making a late push and HC Padgett seem$ to have made a great impression on him. Expect Da ville to me in the mix.

I still think we get him. He’s a rock star and at Clemson the only place he’d be a rock star is in a little corner of South Carolina.

I hope we get him, but momentum going towards Clemson.
This class is starting to remind me of our 2015 class. That was the class were we lost out on 5-Star recruit after 5-Star recruit. Jaylen Brown, Brandon Ingram, Cheick Diallo, Stephen Zimmerman, ect,ect... But if we get Williamson, and either Moses Brown or James Wiseman. Then all's well in the kingdom of the Blue.

My worry is that it seems a lot of guys are coming back next year, based on how November/December went. I like the idea of Zion waiting until spring.

Then again, he's probably like "Yeah I'm not worried about minutes with that I've seen so far".

No disrespect to our current forwards..

You are worried we will have too many return???

Our fan base is one huge contradiction.

This- no appeasing some fans unfortunately:/

Say everyone Sans Diallo, Knox and maybe Richards returns ... that’s AWESOME imo ... shows Cal is “adapting” and attempting to bring in some guys who are very talented but not necessarily 1 and done.

So should we be able to recruit numerous top 6 players each and every year PLUS return numerous 5 stars?

If we bring back the bulk of our team , to go along with who we are currently bringin in (plus possibly Moses etc ) then we are top 3 (deserved ) next season and a favorite to win it all (yet again) with our without Zion

If we lose Richards, Knox and Diallo and don't bring in Zion, we aren't even close to being a favorite or top 10 team to be honest, unless maybe we pull off Wiseman reclassifying and coming here. You can't expect to replace that level of production with what we have signed so far. Sure, they are some nice guards and I am glad to have them, but none of them are going to be able to replace Knox or Richards. Having Vanderbilt helps, but again he isn't going to make up for that either. It really all comes down to Zion or Wiseman for next year. I personally don't think Wiseman is reclassifying and from what I have heard from some people more in the know than I, it doesn't sound like the staff is as confident in getting Zion as they once were. Somehow Clemson and UNC are really heating up late in this one.
