Closet Duke fan alert. That said, Duke was just a little better than Gonzaga tonight. That could all change in March, as Duke teams usually peak at the beginning of the year. Congrats to your Dukies tonight; have a beer with your boy, Dickie V.
Cant speak for the Chet fouls as I dont really remember them, but Timme had at least 3 fouls due to him being a dumbass, not due to bad calls.
Just screwin' with ya; I don't hate Duke as much as most, but I don't want them to win a title either since they're too close to Kentucky (they would be within two titles, and have a 6-3 run in the last 32 years).
I don’t think they’ll lose that badly. I’m not even sure duke wins that game. One thing I do know, duke won’t go undefeated. They don’t rebound that well, oddly. They don’t have very good shooters. They have holes for sure. Not that deep either, especially in the backcourt.
I caught the tail end of the game after Apple Cup wrapped up. Duke looked like they were a lot better than when they played us. Not really sure what I take away from that....I definitely felt like our ceiling was much higher than we showed v them. Just really have no way to tell with this garbage schedule we're playing. Both the Zags and Duke looked pretty high level tonight from the part I saw. We still have a ways to go. I hate our schedule, but Cal HAS made it out so we should steadily improve and keep winning on our way to March.
Great basketball game and had the feel of the epic 2011 Cats vs UNC game (though not quite).
Pretty great play from both sides, particularly on the offensive side. Neither side really got into a sick hyper-lockdown defense set, but the frenetic pace kind of prevented that.
Game was reffed pretty well I thought, and I think the posters claiming it was very biased in Duke's favor were either drunk on bourbon and Dook-hate, or are fairly clueless.
And besides just letting them play, the game just flowed without non-stop delays, reviews, etc. Made it a lot more entertaining.
Gonzaga's turnovers did them in despite the rebounding differential.
And Timme just couldn't clutch up when the game was on the line. His turnovers and missed late game shots put Duke over the edge when it mattered.
The last Gonzaga possession was a complete disaster. They did the one thing you absolutely cannot do in a two possession game, which is burn your clock.

Duke and Zags are Final Four teams, Baylor looks like they haven’t missed a step despite the players they lost, don’t know about the fourth team depends on the draw. Things could change somebody always gets hot at tourney time. I don’t think it will be us, we simply don’t shoot the ball as well as everyone hoped. Grady is a bust so far, Ty ,Ty has mechanics issues, Wheeler despite his obvious talents is not a threat from 3 . The Frederick injury could end up dooming us in the tourney.
He is not the shooter everyone predicted: Shooting from 3 was the one thing everyone predicted would be our teams strength, right now who do you have faith can knock one down, as yet I haven’t seen them
Really?!?! This statement is almost as dumb as the Wheeler isn’t the guy thread. Grady is shooting 46% from 3. As at team, we are shooting 35% from three which would have been higher if not for poor shooting the last 2 games.
I’m not sure what more you could ask for.
No team has a chance this year against Duke and the officials. Feels like 2015 all over.

Purdue a #1 seed lock (MSU, Michigan, Illinois weaker than expected)
UK, UCLA, Baylor, Nova, UT, etc. competing for the final #1 seed.

Best thing you can do is put a big chunk on dook to win it all. Dook is 9:1 last I checked. $1000 on dook = $9000 payout. It will sure take the sting off when the stripes gift K #6.
I don’t think people realize the potential of the team we have lol. Duke, Gonzaga, Baylor and Purdue will not want to see this UK team in the tournament.

Dang man I wouldn’t call Grady a bust yet lol, the pro scouts seem to like TYTY’s shot. I think Collins and Hopkins improvement are the key to UK, the guard play will be there.
And it's not so much the number of fouls but when those fouls are called.
Duke offense in the 2nd half was basically Keels put his head down and drive and hope the ref called it, there was also some really bad no calls when Gonzaga was on Offense

Smashcat I hope you are right at UK competing for a #1 seed. But what I’ve seen so far i see us at a 2 seed or maybe even a 3 seed. Really looking forward to us playing better competition in the future and get a better feel for where we are.
