We don't need shooting.

Our defense is going to produce hockey scores.
What's more exciting? To score 80 or hold your opponent to less than 10?

Again, the math works out.

2009 and 2014 teams would disagree. We need shooters, at least in some capacity. Thankfully, I think we will be serviceable, at worst, in the shooting category, and we could be good or even great. The key is finally having a frontcourt to pull defenders into the paint, giving our shooters space.

I'm as big a fanboi of Bam as anybody on here, but what good does it do if he's mean as a junkyard dawg when we have the refs we do in the SEC? He'll be on the bench two minutes into most games. SMH at the pansies in the SEC officiating office.

In talking to some NBA folks there today, Bam Adebayo stood out the most today at@JordanClassic practice. Was very impressive.

I know comments about recruits always sound like hyperbole, and they often are. I don't know if we can predict Adebayo as the overall #1 pick in June 2017 or not, but I think I can safely say this. In a class that is very good (I haven't seen Giles, and nobody else will for a while yet), Adebayo is the best player I've seen. I wish we could have seen him at the Nike Hoops Summit, but it's clear the U.S. team didn't need anyone else. Still, Adebayo is going to average a double-double next season, I think. It's the combination of energy and effort (his motor doesn't stop) and his physicality (he's 6-9 and 240lbs of muscle) along with what I've noticed is a better than expected skill set. That is what pushes him over the top. I knew he could rebound and dunk. I didn't know he could hit an elbow jumper and handle the ball as well as he does.

So, yeah, give Calipari a season and he's going to unleash the beast. Truly, Adebayo is the reason I'm not worried about anymore recruits signing right now. And by the way, Wenyen Gabriel isn't as physically imposing as Bam, but he's got the same kind of motor and a nose for the ball.

He is taller than 6-9 and he is definitely not 240lbs, his HS coach said he ended the season at 261lbs. Another bad thing about him not being in hoop summit is he would have been measured.

For decades now Duke and UNC players have been utilizing the all star games to be ball hogs and make names for themselves. And each year one of them masters in the cherry picking run out... But the coaches allow it and many even encourage it thanks to the tentacles those two teams have in the basketball world.
