What a disaster. So there’s a good chance we don’t get the marquee QB recruit from this year.

This is Sitkowski’s team next year. They are going to sink or swim with him. Ive seen him in practice. As an 18 year old, the kid can make all the throws to be a BiG QB. He just struggled to keep his eyes downfield. He was shell shocked by Nov.

Langan may not be a P5 QB, Snyder is an incoming freshman. Lewis couldn’t challenge last year. Wimbush isn’t walking into the Hale Center either.

You can easily look up the list for yourself and see that there is no simple answer. Some wealthy districts spend a great deal per student (Franklin Lakes, for instance, spends much more than Newark). Many underperforming urban districts do spend a lot, though, like Camden, for obvious reasons that I'm sure I don't need to explain.

None of this, however, has anything to do with the fact that IN GENERAL (not in every case, of course) white students attend good high schools and black and Hispanic students attend much worse high schools. Weeqhuaic and Barringer, mentioned in this thread, have like 2 or 3 white students between them.

I liked Teels ability to deliver the ball to his first read if he was open with perfect timing from day one.
I understand the numbers, but I'm not the slightest bit impressed with Arts ability to do so.
There's a legitimate argument Teel had far better receivers that made that possible

It's the economic inequality that permeates the entire environment, and begins affecting children from the moment they are born. Stop. We aren’t talking about kids not getting into Harvard. Nothing that is or isn't done before kindergarten is keeping a kid from passing a basic skills test as a senior. It’s got zero to do with spending. You want to call it Jim Crowe and make it about racism. It’s not

Sit's freshman year: 12 game starter, 1158 total yards, 134/273, 4.2 ypa, 4 TD, 18 INTs, 76.4 pass eff

Not sure how those are similar... a backup who started 3 games vs. a 12 game starter. And not sure where you're getting that Sitkowski is a much harder worker?

I'll take your word on the work ethic... but no, those aren't really similar. Unless you squint and say "lot more INTs than TDs, sub-100 pass efficiency" is "similar". Art had a worse line than Teel did - and Teel saw the bench for his in favor of McMahon.

One big problem with your comparison of Teel & Sit is that Teel was a red shirt freshman while Sit was a true freshman. Also don't know what you are talking about Teel being benched for McMahon, since McMahon graduated in 2001 & Teel enrolled at RU in 2004!

But you just made the point even more - there is little comparison between them other then "boy, they weren't very good their first year". The difference is, that Teel was better in his first year than Sit, but the coach still went with another guy. Sit had worse numbers than even Teel did, and yet was handed the keys for 12 games.

That's not to say Sit can't or won't improve - just that the comparison to Teel is thin at best.

Again how can you say sit had worse numbers? He simply had more chances. Teel’s attempts, completions, yards and Td’s are basically exactly half of sits

Big difference "spending the most money per student" and "getting the most money per student." Wasteful spending by the board of ed admin on their own bullsh*t projects and perks instead of spending it on the actual students and facilities is the reason why Newark, Jersey City, Camden, etc have some of the worst graduation rates in the state.

The difference between Sit and Teel is that Schiano had Hart, a senior, ready to come in whenever Teel didnt have it. Acting like Gio was the same type of release valve for Sit compared to Hart and Teel is just not accurate. especially when the 2018 season was lost so early. 2005 was a year they were playing for their first bowl in over 25 years.

You still miss the point that Sit is a TRUE freshman while Teel was in his second season with the program & basically had the same problem that Sit had, but with much more experience. Also Ryan Hart was a capable back up & the OL & RB's were much better then what RU had in 2018 on the OL or backup QB

The Ivy League is filled with kids from private schools because private schools only admit the brightest kids ! It's not like private schools take in kids with IQs in the 90s and turn them into Ivy League material. However, that is not to say that private schools don't take really good kids just because their parents can write the check who then in turn go onto to get an Ivy League education (because their parents can write the check - see Kushner, Jared as exhibit A)

Art = 76.4
Teel = 94.0
Neither earth shattering.
However Teel progressed each year to : 120 , 145, 148.
Let’s see how /if Art progresses

To me, Art's first season reminds me of something Corey Vslentine said in class the day after he quit the team in 1996. He said, "I was tired of running for my life every day." Anyone who didn't see Sit playing completely scared by game 3 wasn't watching. There is no possible way to evaluate his potential behind that line, throwing to those receivers. I'm not sure he stepped into a throw for the better part of 3 months.

I think the Ohio State game changed Art. With that said, the off-season in the weight room is going to do wonders for him. He needs to get stronger. Also don’t sleep on Jonathan. Kid has put on a ton of muscle and improved his lower body strength. McNulty hinted to a change where they might run more rpo’s. I think McNulty realizes this isn’t NFL where talent is equal. You gotta scheme an advantage over your more talented opponents and stop going head to head with lesser talent.
