We're getting ready to deep six DirecTV. I considered YouTube but they don't have the History Channel (at least in our area they don't) so that was a non-starter. Looking into Hulu though.

I’ve had both and I actually prefer Hulu live to YTTV. Only better thing about YTTV is the quad streaming and NFL Sunday Ticket (if you choose to purchase). For stock standard streaming, I liked Hulu more. Same with the mobile app

They just started the multi box view at the beginning of football season. It would be nice if you could choose what you wanted to watch a la carte instead of having to pick on of their's.

Just recently went with YouTube tv. They have where you can watch 4 games at once. I've died and gone to Heaven. How did I not know this before?
That's what I do. Then if it's a close game on one of the other ones and we're in timeout, I'll just mute our game.

Hopefully DirecTV has improved. It worked great when the skies were clear and sunny but dropped signal EVERY time it rained. Was so glad when that contract was up.

That's gotten better plus you can switch over to non-HD to keep watching a show for a lot of channels. It's the crazy cost.

I drop Direct TV about six months ago , price would go up at random and I would
Call and complain and they would give me
Some kind of special and drop it and then when in four or five months it would be back to the same price . When I called the last time and said I was canceling it they made yet another attempt and I said nope . UTube TV is great I think

You might check out Philo as a supplement if you like the History Channel. It has no sports but has channels like History, American Heroes, Smithsonian. Animal Planet, several movie channels, old tv with DVR and a nice interface for $25 a month. I find myself watching it most of the time when there isn't a game on.

This is the only thing keeping me from dropping Dish. There are times when I only want to watch 2-3 games and have something like The Office or Seinfeld on the 4th screen.

The Office or Seinfeld on one screen and sports on the other? Sociopath behavior

We have hulu+livetv and we hate it. It was good initially. There are times when the volume is way to wonky. It'll get really loud or low volume at random times. The "tv" or "home" feature used to show everything live at that time. Now it only does it sometimes. We're going back to cable for the better picture and no random buffering. Fwiw, our internet is FAST. Hulu just sucks anymore. I have to reboot it a few times a week as well. Screw internet tv. I'm done with it. It's also $90 a month now compared to the $45 we were paying just a few years ago.

I wouldn’t go back to cable, but that’s just me.

Why not YoutubeTV?

I'm just tired of internet tv. Cable, at least in my area, is cheaper plus a much better pic. We may give youtube a trial run but hulu sucks. Just my opinion.

I’ve had Sling, YTTV and Hulu. I prefer YTTV over the other 2.

Love the multi view feature and the unlimited DVR/ability to record many shows at once.

For March, especially conference tournament week, I will bring a smaller TV to the living room beside my recliner and multiview on the big TV and put another game on the little TV. When UK plays, UK game on big TV, multiview on the little TV. Can’t wait.

I don’t know if you’ve never tried YouTubeTV or what, but it doesn’t feel like “internet TV” as you describe it. The picture quality is awesome, plus some sports broadcasts are available in 4K now. As good picture quality as anything I ever had with Directv.

I love Youtube TV. It'll automatically record your favorite teams. And you can share it with your Google family

You sold me. I'm gonna give it a trial run.
