So the writing on the wall says the #1 PF in HS would likely come if offered? Don't understand the hold up. Who's left? Transfer? Why not take both?
Likely because if we try the transfer router you aren’t getting one of the best transfers if we have a locked in 5 star big at their position. Say we had landed Hickman and TyTy we don’t get Wheeler. Just how I see it.

1. Kid appears on UK radar kicking lots of butt
2. Kid hints he might like to go to UK
3. Cal waits around, finally offers the kid
4. Kid sets announcement date
5. UK hat left on table after much hype

Rinse, repeat
Good. Not good enough to play at UK anyway.

I think NIL makes the fringe guys opt for year 2.

Why go second round when you can make half a million at UK and be a first round/lottery next year..?

Almost seems impossible that Cal could miss on Bona because he was focused on Lively but yet should have been focused on Traore which wouldn't have scared Bona off, but I did read it on Catpaw so that is surely the case.

Not one person has said he should have focused on Traore over the other 2.But those guys are long gone so some are just wondering why he doesn't offer now.

I would imagine for the same reason we didn't offer months ago. I don't know what those reasons are, but it's not like he was an unknown recruit.

Maybe we're more willing to deal with whatever that situation is now after missing on the other options, but the whole "Cal is going to wait too late again" thing is dumb because it's already "too late" in the process if it's ever going to be. If you're jumping in this late and he's still interested, another week or whatever isn't going to make much difference.

Have read the same thing . I think Cal and the staff are wanting make sure he is eligible.
at this point, why not take a chance
there is absolutely no one that could replace Oscar if he leaves, yet still no offer to the only big man available with a semblance of talent
Banking on a transfer is more risky. The better big men will be heading to the NBA & then UK would be really screwed

There is a rumor that another big player may be interested in transferring here via some back communication, not initiated by UK. Maybe cal likes him more. I think we'll have multiple bigs to choose from via portal. We don't know what the staff knows. We need predictable output, which is what a transfer gives us.

I hope it's not N faly Dante.I heard some rumors about him before but he's been terrible at Oregon.

which is what we should do. An eligibility issue will have the NCAA foaming at the mouth to give us the death penalty.
Oh I think it's far too late for the NCAA to be giving us any sort of real punishment for anything now.

UNC and Kansas have handed out the blueprint for how to stop them.

In fairness to Calipari, we know the staff likes to get a feel for a kid's circle, grades, abd personality before they offer.

Why are some of you acting like you've never seen this before? This is what they do. It's actually a wise move. Lucas reached out a few weeks ago and the staff has been showing interest and setting up a visit. They're also vetting the kid.

I have no issue with the lack of offer at this point. It will come soon enough if the kid pans out in the necessary areas.

Well, we can certainly take him and then sit him on the bench and not play him...... thereby, keeping any OTHER team that wants him to play for them, unable to play against US.

I'm actually starting to get this "logic"

Isaiah Miranda seems to be the last recruit option for Center for next year. Would require a commitment and reclass which has been discussed. Outside of that I assume we would be in the transfer market.

Maybe Cal is developing Collins into a rim protector/shot blocking/rim runner type modern-day 5 man.

Collins’ problem is not skill, it’s the physicality of the college game. Give him a summer in the weight room and he could develop into an excellent college 5.

And that may be the game plan for next year.

Just me guessing.
